Any idea what might cause this. Because I replace only tensioner and nothing else is damaged/worn out. And engine is smooth and no wear/scoring/rubbing marks near case or cover.

defective - low quality vendor for the tensioner. mine changed 2 times in 45,000 km in 4 years... including the original one it becomes the 3rd one running now.
2nd one failed in 400 km of replacement. got some lemons...

I had mine replaced under warranty after 5 months of purchase.. at 3800kms on the odo.. i guess theironhorse99 is right. Low quality vendor for the part.

Hi guys, there's a new issue that's cropped up on my bike. After the initial fuel pump priming, the light goes off but I can still hear the fuel pump motor going on. I have to switch the engine on and off once or twice to finally get it to the normal state. No malfunction indication or anything though. Has anybody ever faced this issue?

Strange! The priming should stopf, once the MIL lamp turns off. Are you facing this issue, after each ride/trip?. Say each and every time you stop or it's just the next day syndrome? I would suggest you check your fuel pump relay.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

Well I haven't been able to narrow down the when or why yet. I noticed it the first time when leaving for home from office at the end of the day. Then the next day I don't think it happened initially, but when I was at the signal near home, after the engine switch off when I flicked on the engine switch on again I could feel a slight vibration, which I dismissed initially as being the fan but then realized that the fan would not turn on just 5 minutes into riding.

So far it seems to me to be random occurrences. I'm still yet to go to the svc and ask them to check it out. The problem is that I've never gotten anything solved at the svc and the whole visit just gets me more frustrated so I thought I'd ask here about similar past experiences. Thanks!

Guys my sprocket set is ~10000kms old and its has got more than 60% of life left. Chain slack is adjusted as per specifications. Wheel bearing and rubber are ~3000kms old. I get this scraping noise even when the bike is run with out switching on the ignition(rode in hills just to check the noise). The chain tends to vibrate a lot (even when the bike is put on a stand and the wheel is spun) and i feel like its scraping something at a certain point. What could be the issue? The noise is not from the disk plate as i had checked it, tried removing it also. The front inner sprocket is also good. Chain is properly lubed every 500~700kms.

Have you tried checking the rubber chain spacer on the swingarm? Is that worn out? If so, it can be a probable reason.

Yeah i checked it. Its good. ill try and post a video of how the chain operates ASAP. That might give you a clear idea of what im talking about and so you can give me better suggestions. Thanks.

i would advise you to take a closer look at your chain.
i was facing same issue since few days and after adjusting chain slack again and again problem persisted. Then on closer inspection i found that there was uneven slack on my chain and some of the linkages were jammed. They were not moving freely.
This resulted in same screeching noise and hell lot of vibrations which were felt by me on footpegs while riding the bike.

so i am due for chain sprocket change. this set lasted 20k for me.
since yours is just 10k old, just have a close look at your chain and rear wheel bearing.
Burn the rubber, they said

On the subject of chains, my Chain is currently on 30,000 kms. It has uneven slack, but no noise. I have a doubt as to when to change the chain sprocket kit - is there any indication that the chain has worn out beyond adjustment?

Has anyone used the new X-Ring chains on CBR instead of the Stock O-Ring ? Kindly suggest.

I looked for a source of the sound, but not able to find it. The same sound appears when riding over potholes. My CBR is 42K kms old, is it time to replace the rear suspension? It still does it's job though, havent noticed the bike plonking down in potholes or an increased rebound... Confused... Please advise!
Fixed the issue, suspension bush went kaput. Easy fix, 150 bucks... All good now.

30K kms is pretty decent mileage for a sprocket kit! I changed mine at 28K kms. if you're noticing uneven slack, it is because the chain has worn out. The CBR chains wear out faster than the sprockets, don't know why! Usually, the O rings loses its capacity to retain it's shape after time, when i changed mine, i noticed the O rings were flaking off! Sprockets still had life in them. Try sourcing sprocket kits from Rolon or Diamond, they are basically the same supplied by Honda, only rebadged as Honda OEM spares. Will workout around 500 bucks cheaper too.

Hi,
I own a 2013 CBR 250 ABS which has done 18000km. Last week on my long trip, while I was cruising at 8000rpm, suddenly I felt RPM dropping and then coming back up and then dropping again. The RPM went from 8k to 7.5k and then came back to 8k and went down again. This happened in a very short time. In fact it felt like the ignition was cutting off and getting back again. I stopped immediately when this happened and did an inspection of the vehicle, mainly the chain and sprocket and didnt find anything wrong. This happened twice in my 400+ km trip. I could also sense small vibrations on my right footpeg when this was happening.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Or know what was happening?
