Don't believe on any papers as those can easily be altered, take the bike for a test ride, be it with the owner as pillion don't mind it, and most important is don't drool for a low price as if you need to own a pre-ownened CBR at a good deal you need to pay at least a lack, and that's the truth.

So, don't judge the bike by the price just take a ride and be confident on the owner.
Once you feel the engine, you would know its life, many parts can be changed as per your need, like in this case take a Mech n get it checked thoroughly .

This happened while i was in svc for replacing the cam chain tensioner under warranty. Now, there is no coolant in the reservoir. When i opened up the oil filler cap, i found white milky substance on the cap. I am pretty sure coolant is mixing up with oil. Milky substance is even visible in the oil. So can it be blown cylinder head gasket? The bike is just 5 months old and these kind of repairs..:banghead: i have dropped a mail to honda again. Lets see what happens
The problem now is that i have to ride the bike for 100 kms to reach svc. Can i ride it in this condition? Would it do any harm?
Hi all,
As psr sir said, i lodged a complaint with honda and told them i won't be bringing the bike because it is not in riding condition as of now because of the coolant mixing with oil. They contacted the local svc and they brought the bike to svc yesterday. The mech said that they have ordered packing kits and they will be opening the engine on monday. Can i ask honda to replace the bike/engine as it is only 5 month old bike and so many problems are popping up?? Any possibilities that they'll do it? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!

From past experience I can only say that Honda will replace engine only in case of some catastrophic failure of engine ..ie., if engine seizes within the first few months and proven to be a Manufacturing Defect....for the kind of problems you are facing they will replace individual parts ,gaskets oil seals etc., and keep the engine in good service ...
That said no harm is escalating the issue and asking for a new engine...you can say that your confidence in the engine and also in Honda had become poor due to the numerous problems since purchase and you are very unhappy....
Good Luck.

So, i checked a july, 2015 pre-owned cbr 250r abs red color done 4600kms and 3 free services. There were a few scratches on front mudguard and silencer cover, everything else was spotless. Engine felt great, only issue was the chain slider which had broken and come off, dangling from the swing arm.

The owner quoted 1.4 lacs and that's the lowest he will go. My cost will be 1.5lacs including the name transfer formalities and service.

I wanted to know if it's a good buy and can I transfer warranty to 2nd owner? Also, is it possible to opt for extended warranty now?

Thanks for the help.

I would say just pull the number plate holder upwards, thats what i do and it never hits back unless someone else push it back down.

I hope there isn't bend as such in the front holder, if you feel, it's making a thud noise or hitting the fender, remove the front plate holder and install a vinyl based front number on your windscreen or your mudguard/fender.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

If we have number plate on the front mud guard, cops will stop as that's not allowed

1.4 will be a good price to be frank as it very low driven bike and you have a bike which is almost new.
I think you can cover under 1.5l with name transfer formalities (costs around 1000 bucks max ) and you still have 9000 left for service.
Warranty related information can be worked out with SVC I have no idea about better go to any 1or 2 Honda SVC's and check
Regards,

I have one query, does the lock of 2013 & newer models can be used both ways or is it still left side ?

Only one side and that is the left.

Hi all,
The svc guys opened up the engine but they are telling me that there was some water in the air filter so water has mixed with the oil and there is no trace of coolant mixing with oil. If there is water in the air filter how can it mix with oil in the crankcase? Can it enter through the crankcase breather hose? I told them then why is the coolant level dropping.. they said they have flushed out the coolant and replaced it. They are going to pour in some old oil( some other honda vehicle's oil changed at 1st service) and check whether it mixes again..

So we have finalised the deal on July - 2015 owned cbr 250r at 1.4 lacs. Will be taking the delivery on Friday.

Anything that I should lookout for? Any advice is welcome.
