No we don't get bubble screens of the shelves in india but you can always order one..as mentioned by ironhorse tyga is a option and theres few more like puig and zerogravity both have double bubble sceens and price bracket is 5k arround..IMO unless one is into heavy touring or frequent hi speed runs spending that much is not an option ..also the pic u posted the upper part of headlight is custom made to hold tight the screen..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostHISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

dil nahi maanta.. to spend 6k for a windscreen..Originally posted by BAMBI143 View PostIMO unless one is into heavy touring or frequent hi speed runs spending that much is not an option
@BAMBI143 & theironhorse99: I do feel the need for a windscreen as the windblast is too strong even at 110kph - it hits my helmet directly and throws my neck around violently. But 6k is too much for me! I was thinking if I could do some jugaad with an acrylic sheet - some kinda 'clip-on' wind deflectors which can deflect the wind above the helmet level. Anyone tried this? Feedback welcome.
1. Yes, it's Honda's brand for ABSOriginally posted by pv1984 View PostA friend of mine is trying to buy a used CBR 250R , we found a September 2011 model(ABS).
We checked the vehicle, here are our observations :
1) Vehicle says Combined ABS on the front mudgard, not sure if its the same as ABS.
2)Has only run about 8k kms, owner was not there to check why had it run so less.
3) Bike lugs at slower speeds on high gear(i know this is common if not in right gear but never expected it to make so much noise)
4) On the right gear at right speed didn't notice any lugging
5) Was not able to find the MFG date on continental tyres, not sure if I looked in the right place.
6) The document that was available at the time included RC copy, sales receipt RTO receipt and Insurance. It did not have the service record/history. Now is this something that is provided to owner or the service center keeps it ? If so how can I check the service history of the vehicle?
7) Any red flags that I need to look for ? I ask the CBR bikers to help me identify any specific areas that i need to look for ?
8)Scratches on the silencer(I know this seems to be an issue many CBR's)
2. ???
3. The CBR is a revvy bike and will definitely lug at anything below 3500-4000RPM.
4. There! You answered it yourself!
5.
6. The service leaflets inside the owners' manual are the right place to check.
7. The famous (infamous) tik-tik sound (SHIM issue), vibrations at 5000RPM
8. Very common issue.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Thanks bbsrailfan .
With regards to point 2 , I kno its hard to tamper with the odo but was not able to confirm the mfg date of the tyres.
Also, AFAIK there are few minor improvements from 2011 model ; correct me if I am wrong.
1.5L is too much in my opinion, any idea what would be the best price considering the age and model of the bike .

Man!!! I will need to check my own tyres - I too am not sure about where the mfg date is stamped on the ContiGos!Originally posted by pv1984 View PostThanks bbsrailfan .

Improvements? Better paint quality, different finish for grab rails, maybe slight tweaks in the engine. Nothing significant.
We are talking of a year-and-half old ABS model with 8K on the odo. He may have bought it for 1.7L+change OTR. If you find the engine, body and drivetrain to be perfect (no tic-tic noises, no chain dragging, no cracked fairings, tyres not worn out too badly), 1.4L-1.5L would be a decent price, considering the fact that today an ABS would cost you 2.1L and a STD would set you back by 1.8L (All prices OTR, Bangalore)Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. Good question. I am planning the same to change the front to 100/80 and rear to 130. I guess it will give good accearation and topend with negligible increase in FE.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostGuys, I happened to come across a heavily modded ceeber yesterday evening. Custom exhaust, sticker jobs, projectors et al. What was interesting was - the guy was using CBR150's 130-section tyres. If I ignore the fact that a 130-section looks ugly on the big ceeber, what are the expected tradeoffs? Will it result in better acceleration and FE at the cost of high speed stability?
P.S. I wouldn't think of doing that, ever!Siddhartha

1)cushioning is improved so need to fill air to 35 psi & rear shock preload is on 4th notch,
2)Being a PSD the grip is very good,no air loss at all which conti was having,
3)Checked the gearing commender the gearing is 2% on higher side due to the difference in rolling circumference, the speedo shows 2 kms less than actual speed.
4)Didn`t feel any stability issue even when I topped it @ 151 kmph.
I had a option of 130/70/17 PSD the same size as ninja but the weight rating was low so went with 130/80/17.
It is for 3600/-
Waiting for new batch of PSD for front, what is available was 2 yeas old.Last edited by Pruthviraj; 03-30-2013, 09:54 AM.

That was a very detailed info, thanks! I am myself tempted for PSDs and they do have a 130/70, 130/80 as well as 140/70. BTW did you check the 140s? Were they too heavy?Originally posted by Pruthviraj View Post1)cushioning is improved so need to fill air to 35 psi & rear shock preload is on 4th notch,
