Yes the one which comes with the tool kit is no 5,when you go to buy it remember to get a tvs make,it is hardened & also buy no 4 & no 6 also.
The mirrors need no 4,the footrest take no 6.

            A. A vibrations starts at around 30/40kph when I shut throttle and decrease speed. This can be felt on foot pegs and transmits to tank and seat later on. This problem started happening after around 800km of running. And this happens particularly when the bike is in either 4th gear or below that.

            B. The handle bars wobble at low speeds even on plane roads though this problem was lessened to a large extant after the 1st servicing.

I am going to get it rechecked at the Fortune Honda(Hyderabad) after a couple of days and will see whether they are able to rectify it or not.But I want to know from you fellow bhpians is
            A. Has anyone of you faced these problems on your famed quarter liter bike.
            B. How could this happen even after meticulously following and ridding my bike the way it is suggested in the manual. Not to mention I still haven't crossed 6k mark on rpm meter.

Was repairing my near decade old Discover 150cc ug 1 today.

Ah the transition from Discover to CBR

From a work horse to a race horse

Still wish I could make my discover to something like the musket * - Blog

Perhaps I will name it Expedition

Off I go to the relevant pages.

[Sorry for not a cbr post, well it was a spontaneous jotting].

My CBR radiator after it came from its first service. Am not able to guess how far this will effect the cooling of the engine . I have repeatedly told them not to direct water jet into the radiator but they have done it , So far no problem regarding heating except once felt very tremendous amount of heat when i have red lined in 3rd gear.

Apart from that am hearing some KICH KICH kinda sound from my engine when the bike is in idle and when the engine is very warm i can hear and the sound vanishes if the bike is cold , to what this might be related to any idea to any one ?

                    Hi Sandeep,
Don't worry, that many bent fins wouldn't cause any subjective degradation in cooling system. As long as your temp bar is at 3, you are good.
I am clueless on the other question, but that won't be because of radiator fin issue atleast .

No problem if the fins are bent. The temp. indicator on the dash should not rise more than THREE bars.
The Kich Kich sound more like sound of ladies anklets..... They do appear on CBR's after a long use.
How long depends on the type of riding.
What I mean to say is, if you redline the engine very often the sound will creep in very early, else after a long time.
Nothing to worry though... Just goto SVC and tell them to check the shims and the valve clearance. Also tell them to give you the readings.

They might try to wriggle out of this, but stay firm and get it done. As taking the readings is not an easy task.
Most of the times SVC wont do anything they would simply give back the bike and give you readings which are acceptable or within the range that is mentioned in their books.
So stay there and watch them do it. When they are taking the readings go there and see it for yourself.

OK, there is a notch on both sides of the front frame tube housing the steering rod. There is also corresponding notch on the plate holding fork tubes (lets say plate notch). Thus, both of them meeting together at the extreme point limit the movement.
Issue I see that when the handle is pointing straight, the gap between right side notch to corresponding right side plate notch is more than left pairs.
I am beginning to think that right or left side notch on the frame tube is manufactured with is oddness?. A piece can be welded to relieve this oddness, but this is strange. Another reason could be that complete front assembly is offset to right, but I don't see it that way yet or may be got used to this?. Any thoughts?.

hmmm... I advice extreme caution before you do this:

When riding take both your hands of the handle bar, and check if the bike severs to any one direction. If yes there is misalignment else dont worry.
If there is misalignment contact HONDA immediately ... The SVC first and also write an email to honda

Well to repair the bends you can take a juggad method of taking a tooth brush some colgate white paste and try pushing them back into shape.

Thanks. I did this already. This test is not conclusive yet as I am unable to compare it with another. With hands off the handle bar, most of the time I am able to ride (40kmph+) on straight or down a flyover ramp without any drift when there is enough torque. But, sometimes I am seeing that there is a tendency for the bike to move to right - but not like drifting - it is more severe like I am loosing balance and I can't ride with hands off (I am thinking that this might be because of the engine braking causing me to reach the point of my balancing ability , road imperfection or my sitting, weight distribution etc - So, I am in no mans land on this).
