RPMS? yes, I always in

Congrats on your new possession Manan. The mirrors aren't that bad in my case, but yes, they do vibrate above 100. As for the RPMs, try to keep it above 3000 and below 5500. Tagging it along at 4000 in city traffic would lug the engine, which is not recommended. Just stick to the book and avoid sudden bursts of acceleration and you'll be just fine.

Another thing to note is that the Chain is very sensitive - needs regular cleaning and lubrication and if you miss out on this part, roughness creeps in.

Thanks again, with regards to the chain cleaning and lubrication, I have heard that tvs lubricants can work, I will ask the guys in the universal lubricant section and get back here.

About the chain slack, there is a small green meter kind of thing near the end of the swing arm, is that the indicator for slack? or is it for the wear and tear of the chain/spockets etc? .

        Manan

Edit- I cannot find the lubrication section anywhere, any help?

Although I'm not sure, but I guess the green/red sections are for chain slack. It must always be adjusted within the green zone.
Regarding lubing, any chain lube would do. Most people prefer Yamalube or Motul. One should lube the chain every 500 kms. Monsoons may require the same at 200 odd though.
You can get it cleaned during every service. Else, use kerosene/diesel if you wish to clean it yourself.

I usually clean the chain/sprocket during every oil change at 3k kms and lube it every 500 kms.

            Hello, all

Yesterday I went out for a ride, and on return I found certain gaps in the fairings,
            The locations are

1)The right side fairing Click image for larger version

ID:	1846298 if you see the right side one, the gap is very subtle, my hypothesis is that when the inspected my bikes coolant systems, during the refitting perhaps they made an error. Till now no issues, or ones I have not noticed as of yet.

            2) The seat, this one is really subtle. Click image for larger version

ID:	1846299 the mark is near the tank, the internal plastic? was showing. Again my thesis is that when they were inspecting the fuse box prior to delivery the reassembly was rushed. it does look like water can sneak in.

            3) Rear leftside fairing, this one is scary, it looks like the whole plastic has come out. Click image for larger version

ID:	1846301 I have no idea why such a gap occurred.

So my query is that, do these gaps pose a danger to the important components of my bike? the internal mechanisms etc? and will they pose a danger if I go for slightly high speed cruising?

Lastly do the ASC even take care of such things if pointed out? I plan to take to Saffire honda at j.p nagar, Bangalore, so any xbhpians from Bangalore, please contribute on their service competency this bike means a lot to me.

and lastly a pic of me, near the Bangalore new airport.

@Manan did those gaps occur only after the ride or were they present when you took delivery of the bike? Anyways, you can point it out to the ASC and they will(must) fix it, atleast here in Chennai they do. These gaps can cause rattling at high speeds which might be quite disturbing.

The tank and the right side mid cowl was present at the time of delivery, the left side was seen only yesterday. So for the last one I have no idea when such occurred.

I am currently running in the bike varying rps from 3 to 4.5, not paying so much attention to what speed I am going, till now there is no rattling sensation. although there are vibrations at the rpms which I just mentioned. I am attributing the vibrations to the new engine.

                Manan.

Met at accident last week. A cyclist suddenly came from wrong side. He was so confused that he did not even try to move. My cbr did a scary stoppie and BANG!! The cyclist was not injured and i got some bruises in the ribs and thigh. The bike is damaged from both the sides. Thankfully i have zero dep insurance so wont have to pay much. The bike is at asc. Hopefully will be deliverd in a couple of days.

Oh..sorry to hear about the accident. Good to hear that you escaped with minor bruises. Zero-dep insurance urely helps in these situations.

Under insurance, of zero dept I think it should cover 100% of the damages., I got mine from icici lombard. Well take care now, was your cbr standard?

In case you do want to check on the price, maybe this can serve as a rough guide, but you have to take into account of the VAT and service taxes.

Hey guys, can anyone here help me with the various dealers in Thailand for parts for our babies. Performance as well as cosmetic. One of my acquaintance will be visiting Thailand soon. So can ask him to get some parts.
