    Agree with everything you said..
However MT 01 does 170 odd @ 4000 rpm. Also, companies arrive at gearing keeping in mind several factors: power and torque curves, intended usage and positioning in market, etc. So every bike has different character, for eg, KTM Duke 200 and P200NS.

Frankly speaking, 110 @ 4000 rpm does sound too less for a 1200cc hypertourer which costs (almost) twice as a 'busa.
15-37 will give you close to 90 kmph @ 5k rpm in 6th gear. As far as sourcing of said sprockets is concerned, I think you'll need to hunt a lot and any answers; if you'll find, will be in the market, not internet forums. Also, once you have performed the sugery, only then would you be able to tell if the bike is actually able to match the calculations on paper or not.

Dear sir have posted a fb link for the 15t front sprocket making person,he is also using it pls get in touch with him for your querries.

I just noticed....in the pic it looks blackish but believe actually its so transparent, sometime I forget tht I have already shut the visor

Another reason can be the blackish color is due the reflection of my vinyled windshield of the bike.

I've also posted a simplified formula for calculation. You can find the same online here.
The site you posted is amazingly accurate. Thanks a lot.

Now, I guess I will not have to think of getting gear wheels machined after all. A 15/38 and/or 16/38 combo should suffice. I can live with the lower acceleration; as it were, I don't like the low flywheel mass, lightweight piston engine in the way it revs to 7 or 8K with just a minor twist of the grip.

I know I am in the minority here - less rev-happy engine, less acceleration et al (the peg scrapers would be baying for my blood), yet am grateful that members thought it worth their while to contribute in such a meaningful way.

Another observation, this time about the stability of the front at high speeds and varying fuel tank levels.

With a full tank, the bike is quite solid at 100. But as the fuel starts getting consumed, she starts becoming a bit skittish. At 1 or 2 bars of fuel, I can literally feel the front rising up under the sustained torque from the rear. Also, I have noticed that the this nose-up attitude seems to be a function, though minor, of the aerodynamic lift generated by the windshield-side panel combo, interacting with the oncoming stream of air.

The current solution is to ride with a loaded tank bag and I am happy with it - pace plus space. Yes, grace suffers but then, it is a Honda bike, not a Jag.

Another thing. I was told by numerous MRF tyre dealers that the tubed Zapper Q rear can be used in a tubeless format too. So, I compared the bead profile of the Q with a stock Conti and did not find any visible differences to indicate that the bead of the Q was designed for tubes. Anybody here with an experience of the Q? In tubed or tubeless use?

Sorry if the thread had become a little tech in the last few pages...

                PS. I guess I want a Suzie V Strom 650 type of behaviour from a Honda CBR 250 - 95.5 kph at 4.4K :-)

why not go the easier route...

1st mod : go for PSD 130/80.. better grip than conti's and mrf + extra 10mm tyre height..(total circumference changes (more distance per revolution)) it will make a noticeable diffrence in
                    the rpm...

2nd mod : go for front 15T.. cheaper and easier..

                    if still wanting more...

                    go for rear sprocket...

but i believe a front 15T and 130/80 would definitely give you a smile.. oh.. i am on the same route...

15t front will make the gearing 7 % higher + the 130/80 Psd will add 2 % more.So it will be 9 % taller gearing than stock, which should make the bike relaxed.

Another option is installing Pulsar 220F`s rear 36t sprocket. As 220f & cbr both are having 520 series chain the main issue will be drilling 6 holes to the sprocket for the fitment on CBR,pulsar is having 4 holes I think. But this mod will make the chain`s usability range less as it will be 2 less teeth so the chain setting will be @ max range.

Dear Icemang sir pls check the gearing commender if it can tell your required ans.

                        Yo Lucky guys,
                        Quick question -
I happen to press the rear brake pedal slightly with one of my boots always. This is a slight press and the brake light is still Off. I see that rear brake pedal has some play before
it engages the brake(s). I am unable to test whether the slight pedal press (without the brake light turning ON) engages the brake(s). How do you guys rest your right leg?.
                        Thanks.

There is a spring switch connected to rear pedal.. loosen it out a bit so that it will light up only when the pads are actually burning the disc. ..

On the other note its a safety feature. . For the people tailing you will actually prepare themselves to brake when they seee your light glow at the slightest footprint on the pedal..

Look behind the ankle guard you will find a spring loaded bell switch. .. with threads..loosen it a bit n the rear light will glow later

You can go with the stock honda fork oil..however if the ride is done 10k + top up the other fork as well by 20 ml..

Though I would recommend get motul fork oil. It's thicker than the stock and get oil change for both thw forks for equal and better performance else he'd end up bursting oil seal for other fork due to uneven pressure
