Re: Honda CBR 250R
On the r15 owing to a smaller rim width the contis fit with a much rounder profile. So to shred the chicken strips on such a round profile would need crazy lean angles. That might explain why it happened on your friends r15. Although I still doubt that the lean angle sensor was responsible for that because it is calibrated in such a way that it activates only when the bike topples otherwise it would prove to be very dangerous if the engine cuts off midway during a turn.Originally posted by siddharthsure View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Dude!! I advice you to check how much you can lean before the bank/lean angle sensor cuts the fuel while the bike is standstill before trying to grind your footpeg.. As the angle is too much, you cant control when the engine goes off.Originally posted by trooper911 View PostWell never faced any such issues i think you are talking about the bank angle sensor which is used to cut off fuel? in case of a fall. Anyways never had that issue if it does happen it is very dangerous though.
Well i agree it takes some trusting to be able to do it but once you trust the tyres and the bike it is manageable.
Usually what happens is you try to corner and the rear slides out and you lose all confidence but you have to keep doing it because that last portion of the tyre is rarely used everyday so after the initial contact with the road and the right amount of heat in the tyres they start to grip so it gets easier after the initial scare. Also cornering does take some practice and trust me i have had plenty not just with the cbr but with others too
.
Next goal grinding footpegs but it looks quite impossible right now.
Ride safe!!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
May be those dealers haven't received them or stock them?. The CBR has strange tyre dimension. Now that new CBR's come with Zapper FY and S fitment, dealers/ASCs may start ordering them. I shall wait for feedback from users. Front FY in MRF Tyres and rear S in MRF TyresOriginally posted by trooper911 View Post
good analogy. I too have heard good things about the MRF's. I am guessing you are talking about the Duke's tyres? Tried finding the new zappers S but the dealers have no clue about it
In my experience the contis are quite unpredictable. They grip when you think they won't and they don't when you want them to.
The pictures were taken around 7 am on ghat roads with lot of moisture from fog. Also I have consistently done over 130 in lashing rain with hard braking without any drama. On other occasions I have slid all over the place cornering in near perfect conditions. I am due for for a change soon but our options don't look good.~shifting at 6K RPM

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes that is the basic function of that particular sensor and yes i am doubtful that it would be so sensitive to cut off while cornering. I would have surely known if it did
i guess i will give it a try but holding the bike at such angles is hard work
Yeah i too was hoping to find those but no luck. If they are the same/similar compound found on the r15 it should be good.
The dealer was telling me michelin is going to get new tyres (pilot sporty) in that size actually they made some tyres for the homologation but they failed in the tests. He said it might be around a month before they fix that and the tyre is released to the market. Anybody used pilot sporty before?
Also RACCOLD guys are going to bring their tyres in that size according to him but i am doubtful if it is for cbr or the FZ.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ya try!! Try to lean the bike max when standstill such that its very close to ground ( without scratching the farings) and try to start. It wont startOriginally posted by trooper911 View PostYes that is the basic function of that particular sensor and yes i am doubtful that it would be so sensitive to cut off while cornering. Edit: you are right guys :thumbup:Just found this on the internet
"The lean angle sensor will not activate if the bike is running properly through a corner. Inertia keeps the sensor from activating, regardless of actual lean angle.
The whole point of the lean angle sensor is to shut off the engine if the bike falls over while it is running. This is done because the engine will not properly lubricate itself when it is on its side.
The lean angle sensor should be called the tip over sensor since that is what it really senses.
Losing power while leaned over could very well cause a crash. It could cause too much weight to be transfered to the front tire which might result in losing the front."
Also read that lean angle sensor is calibrated for tyre size and various other factors. So CBR tyres on R15 would have caused that

Re: Honda CBR 250R
A friend in Ahamdabad was using it but was not happy with it,it was too loud.I have a Akrapovic Carbon Fiber slip on on my CBR it is awesome, nothing like it but if you go through the product document of any Co.you will see that a ffe slip on will hardly increase 1 bhp,the weight loss of the oe silencer is the main advantage, you got to lift the oe exhaust to understand this.Originally posted by shem1410 View Postguys ... does anyone have experience with the leo vince gp corsa?... im looking to buy a ffe but my budget is about 27k...
In 27k you should get a Akra or Yoshi SS slip on.You can always buy the header pipe afterwards,it will be around 10k more but it certainlyincreases the power output. You will also need a ff air filter like K & N or BMC.

Same problem here, and even mine gone at 12k kmsOriginally posted by Sid85 View PostHi freinds,
Need to change my bike's chain set...gave away just at 13000kms. Any suggestions other than the stock one? A link and price of the same would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I would be very thankful if someone can put some light on it

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I didn't have a saree guard on my ceeber. The guy selling the boxes had a local 'fitter' who used 5-6 clamps to secure the sideboxes. Since you are at Bangalore, we can catch up some time so that you can see the mountings for yourself. Where are you put up? Drop me a PM.Originally posted by Manan View PostHi, I wish to know the lhs box, was it a direct fit on the saree guard posts? or did you have make some adjustments as on the rhs side?

BTW Can someone help me with increasing the bite on my rear brakes? They are literally nonexistent!Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Just remove the brake pads & rub them lightly on a soft polish paper, wipe them clean, wipe the disk clean, ensure that no oil residues are there & install it,your`s must be std by the way.Mine is also std & I diy this, very simple, you don`t have to take off the rear wheel also. The other things I did for better braking wereOriginally posted by bbsrailfan View PostBTW Can someone help me with increasing the bite on my rear brakes? They are literally nonexistent!
1) Removed the rear wheel & rear brake caliper & cleaned & greased the caliper pins.
2) Changed the brake oil to dot4.
3) Cleaned the brake pads & brake disk.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Pruthviraj mine is an ABS model - but assuming the rear brakes are the same, can you help me with the DIY - specifically, the disassembly/re-assembly part? I have kept my disc clean so far, but I feel this has more to do with the pressure inside the master cylinder, as i have to literally stand with all my weight on the pedal to get any braking, and locking the rear wheel, even with ABS disabled, is an impossibility - the brakes are that poor.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostJust remove the brake pads & rub them lightly on a soft polish paper, wipe them clean, wipe the disk clean, ensure that no oil residues are there & install it,your`s must be std by the way.Mine is also std & I diy this, very simple, you don`t have to take off the rear wheel also.
