The non-ABS one can have its brake pads directly swapped from the 220 for the rear. Secondly, even the steel braided line from the Pulsar 220 and Duke 200 can be used on the CBR as the Banjo diameter is almost the same, plus it's straight and not curved as the Duke 200. Secondly, when coming to ABS, I have yet to see anyone change their ABS to a steel braided HEL or Vortex or Spiegler. But, personally, I feel my CBR's front brakes offer very good feedback, it's progressive and isn't easy on the bite force, just the right amount. But again it's a personal opinion. I feel, Apache and R15s have some of the best brakes in Indian motorcycling scene in the 150 to 200cc category, the bite is just sharp and pin point precise.

What I would suggest is drain the fluid, replace the fluid with quality DOT 4 and it should definitely improve the braking. The non-ABS comes with DOT 3 and the ABS comes with DOT 4.

I have a few questions too. Anyone here have swapped the Pulsar 220s front brake pads to the CBR non ABS? Is it a direct fit or just the rear?

    Cheers!

I have CBR 150 brake pads at the front and p220 at the rear running for a good 10k km plus now, not showing too much wear but may change the front in a few thousand kms or sooner, rear has been running for a good bit 12k km n going strong, use very little of my rear brake tho.

      Hi guys!
Changed the rear brake pads to p220 ones today. Odo at 8780kms. The old pads had worn out so bad that the metal underneath was visible![emoji43] Planning to change the front pads within a few days. Does the p220 front disk pad fit? Or will I have to go for Honda itself?

Attaching a picture of the old pads.

Sir, I must say that you abused your m/c real bad(apologies). One should/must check brake pads regularly because brakes are life savers, i guess your rear disc rotor might have worn out because of this over use. It would cost around 1-1.2 i guess. Do check the the front pads asap and yes front rotor costs a bomb(3.5k). And for front pads there is no such cheap suppliment.

Hi buddy! Yes the rear rotor has some grooves due to this. I will be changing both the rotor and the pads next time( when these new pads wear out). The front still has some life left but anyways I'll be changing the front pads soon. It's just that I thought the pads won't wear out so soon[emoji53] I will keep this in mind and change it well before..
          Thanks mate!

Grain like leather peeling off can indicate your seat may be ripped. Check if the seat is ripped in the first place or a small hole, all these can happen during transit or mishandling during transport. A picture would have sufficed though.
[MENTION=76203]sanjaynk15[/MENTION], as Deathwing said, you can perhaps CBR 150s pads. Now, I am not sure what the price of the 150's are. If they are cheaper than the 250s I would say go ahead.

              Cheers!

The pulsar 220 rear brake pads are as good as OEM in braking effect. The pair I use is nearing 10000 kms, with heavy use. I stomp the rear brake in predictable stops, until the rear wheel fishtails.

Deathwing uses duplicate cbr150 pads which cost around ₹200-300, idk. How's the pads doing? Do they cause premature wear of the rotor?

IIRC somebody posted a picture of the cheaper version of the brake pads, yesteryear. Now, I am not sure which forum it was CBR 150 or 250 where they posted a couple of photos, stating they sourced cheap brake pads for their bikes in Chennai. Am I ringing the bells correctly?

But for ABS variant i think it has two brake lines on the Caliper...
Yes i always wondered if pulsar's brake line could fit as they visually looked very similar to the ones in CBR.
CBR250 ABS does have 2 brake lines upfront for the combi-braking i think. Would that make any difference in changing them to steel braided ones ?

                      Hello Sir,

Yes as i said it's just me who feels that the brakes don't offer a good bite, probably because most of my mates have KTM and after riding their bikes, the initial bite and the confidence i get is something my cbr lacks.

Coming back to steel braided lines, you said you're yet to see the ABS version with the Steel braided lines from HEL or so. Does that mean its not a good idea to change my rubber ones with the OEM KTM steel lines ? & Yes around 6 months back i did my brake bleeding and I've put DOT 4 as much as i can remember.

Sorry for all the noob questions ive been asking lately, its just i don't wanna screw up anything. [emoji28]

Thank you everyone for all the information, i will try to go tomorrow or the day after to check on the price for the steel lines from KTM & Bajaj, if i find them in my budget then i will definitely look forward into it.

On changing brake lines on my NS i was spectacle on whether brake line from Aliexpress or eBay will suit my NS,
Then after talking with my Mech, he told me tat, any brake line which has 10mm banjo bolt will suit and will work..
Even if the end are slight tilted or at any angle..

For CBR, i suggest ppl to use RS front / rear brake line..

RS is a tall bike, so the brake line will be enough for our CBR..

i used P220 brake line on my NS and it was tight fit.. only little play was there..

Guys, my bike had a crash yesterday night.

It's windshield, front mudguard and right side fairing panel has cracked and the rear brake lever is bent. Front disc is a bit jammed because of which the disc rotor is getting hot. Muffler/shield over exhaust is scratched and bent at places.
Can somebody give me an idea of how much these parts cost?
Also kindly guide me as to how these parts can be claimed under insurance.

I asked the svc and another private service center to check the wear of my pads, the Honda svc guy was like life is Still there, I only used the 150 cause it was cheaper and same dimensions and size on my non abs CBR, will visit a mech n check again, maybe use 250 brake pads from the svc itself, but I had a cash crunch that time some 5-6 months back but now I'll check again either ways n decide. The funniest part was the other friend's private svc mech was like sir don't use like other brake pads when I thought my front was gone, but it had life it was still the 150 pads, he didn't know I was changing from 150 to 150, but will check my rotor and front n rear brake pads n let you guys know the verdict. I was going to go back to the stock 250 pads from the svc but the mech was like no need to change , in October n November when I went two times after my crash for chain sprocket change and just service without oil change, and rear shock and put back a heat shield on the exhaust after a bit.
