I'm gonna search for it tomorrow and mix it with petrol. I rode for 40kms today after filling fresh petrol but the sound is still there. I'm guessing its the shims.
Shims must be changed by reputed asc only, who have an experienced CBR mechanic. Else they will screw things up further.

If I were you, I would wait till I get back, and then visit asc.

I don't use additives because my first use of add-on P coincided with engine oil leaking from the engine. I stopped using the additive and 3 months later the leaking stopped.

I would prefer waiting but is it okay if i run the engine in this condition for a month or so?
I thought of adding system g as it would clean the injectors if they are clogged due to bad fuel.

The tyres are lighter than Michelins and the 150 rear section has a clearance of half an inch from the tyre hugger. The bike seems sprightly, and based on my experience with my last set of Michelin's, if these tyres last me for 20K kms, it is cost effective as well.

Yet to check the FE loss due to the larger footprint. Gonna pump some tyre protector gel into it this weekend. This tyre choice is just a personal opinion of mine, even though theironhorse pointed out it's obvious shortcomings. For my small wallet and urgency, these seemed apt.
        Hello Niranjan,

I am in the market to buy the same set of tyres for my ageing Metz/Conti combo I currently have but face a similar financial crunch as your and opting for MRF.
The quotes I get from the market is consistently over 6K, so could you please direct me to the dealer where you got it from. Also, did you find the place worthy enough of doing a balancing?

PS: Unable to PM you and hence posted here.
        Thanks,

          Hi,

I am planning to book my CBR250 (Red) by next week. Will mostly opt for the Std version if the ABS waiting time is > 45 days. Any word of caution for me. I am little bit worried about the talks on the bike being phased out and availability of spares.

          I reside in Chennai.

Nothing can be more important than life. Will suggest you to wait for ABS. For bikes which can cruise at 100+kmph, opting for ABS should be must. Few extra bucks and wait will be life saving.

              Hello all,

I own a 2013 CBR250R with 16k on the odo. Lately whenever I downshift from higher RPMs (shifting down several gears one by one with clutch disengaged), a 'krrrrrrr...' sound seems to emanate from the gearbox and the gear gets stuck at neutral. I have to press the pedal a few times more to put it into first. Not a troublesome issue since I can always downshift in few more attempts, but the sounds scares me everytime.
The response to some similar questions asked before in this thread were met with answers telling them to check chain and sprocket for issues. But I have changed my chain sprocket assembly recently and the problem is still there. Also this sounds seems to come from engine as if someone is trying to forcibly mesh two running gears, like as if I was trying to forcefully shift without pressing clutch.

Has anyone faced this problem before, or can help me with a solution? Also, I dont know if its a related issue but I have also been getting a lot of false neutrals lately, and I have been riding the same way always (no change of shoes etc).

ABS is worth the wait. Anyway Honda is not interested to sell any performance bikes here in India and want to sell only scooters. Also they have clearly said that CRB250RR and CRB300R is NOT coming to India. So i guess they might continue selling the CBR250R for few more years. Only thing they would do is to change the stickers.

I will check the waiting period and decide upon that. Having ridden a 600 without any gadgets, I am confident of riding it without any aids. But having it is much better.

One more question, for CBR, what fuel do you guys recommend (Please dont mention the RON), in plain simple terms - Shell normal or BP speed..etc...

Now, i am clocking about 40kms everyday(highway). I am hearing clicking noise from the engine from 3-4k rpm and after that there is nothing. I think it's the tappets and i am going to get it adjusted tomorrow. Do you guys suspect the shims to wear out this early? My bike has clocked 3300 kms.
As suggested by svc i filled fresh petrol and after that the sound had disappeared today morning but it is back now.
The sound starts after the engine warms up, before that there is no sound. It starts exactly from 3k rpm and goes up to 4k after that there is nothing.
Like when i am riding in 2nd gear and i press clutch to shift to 3rd, at this point when the rpm goes down from 4k, there is "krrr" sound, almost a little rattle from engine. This is also there when rpm rises slowly from 3-4k, but not when i throttle quickly. What might be the issue guys? Need some help!

Sold mine bro, hence looking for something smaller and easy on the pocket and can do touring as well. Thats why landed here, having a 2L budget cap with me.

Oh okay! Best choice bro! I got the red one (warning: you get a lot of eyeballing if you get this color ) 4 months ago and i think i have made the best decision. Except for a few small niggles i'm enjoying every moment with the bike. However you have got 2l budget cap, go for the ABS version eyes closed. Do keep us updated!

No bro have not installed frame sliders yet. I am hearing a strange noise from engine from 2-3k rpm, might be the classic shim issue that cbrs have. Will get it rectified at the svc soon and will update here.
