Re: Honda CBR 250R
Do these lights really make a difference? I mean, i'm very narrow minded when it comes to meddling with the bike's electricals, and would like to know if this mod is actually worth the risk. Call me a stickler for stock specsOriginally posted by aargee View PostWell said; here's one if you like to buy - High Power Cree LED FOG Light Reflector External USE 10W Bike CAR 1pc | eBay
The one I have is 10W
If someone is too concerned about the quality, price, genuineness etc here's what the best money can buy - Auxiliary Driving Lights & Mounts | TwistedThrottle.com Get the DX & it is sure to blow your mind; lights up path ahead like a broad day light for nearly 0.7 Km!!
What I understand is you've taken the power supply as parallel connection from headlights via switch; if this understanding is right, then, yes, the supply to switch comes via 10A fuse; so if something goes wrong, both headlight as well as LED light don't light up
Well, if you would've sourced from an accessories shop, may be your mechanic would've done a shabby job. If I were you, I wouldn't mind to have done that kind of good mount on your CBR. It not only is a fabulous setup, but also looks gorgeous
(I've personally experienced Denali D4's on a friend's Tiger, no questions about that product. The Cree lights mentioned above are interesting, but would love to know if they are VFM and worth the risk.)

Re: Honda CBR 250R
If you have Can you send the electrical diagram with better quality, I cannot makeout the connections when I zoom in the picture.Originally posted by aargee View PostPer this diagram pass does come through 15A fuse; if you like to check, pull out the 15A fuse from the fuse box located under the rider's seat & use the pass switch.
If you like to try alternative, try connecting to the line coming out of "C" fuse 10A; worst case scenario, if your headlamps conks off, you'll be left with LED headlamps as this line is powering turn lights, neutral lights etc.
And I also have a doubt on the 15a fuse, as there are no 15 amp fuse inside the fuse box.
And after seeing the fuse box, I can better go with horn wiring as it does not connect to other loads. The turn indicator fuse is connected to almost all other lights including the meter console so I better not tap a connection from it.
Am unable to attach pic from mobile

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well, if you except it to make a world of difference then I would say it won't. In complete darkness, yes it definitely give better brightness and coverage if properly focused. But if an oncoming vehicle is coming in high beam with 90/100 or similar configuration, it may help you the least by showing the edge of the road for us to stay on tarmac or it may force him to switch to low beam.Originally posted by Jon Niranjan Paul View PostDo these lights really make a difference? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ok, I got some loose change to spend, and I want to buy common spares to future proof the bike because the nearest Svc is 50 kms away, and they don't have parts in stock always.
The parts in mind are
1) Coneset
2) Chain and sprockets
3) Oil filter Honda
4) Front brake pads
5) Clutch and brake levers
6) Turn indicators bush
7) mirrors
9) bolts
10) Cam chain tensioner
11) Console cover
12) Air filter
13) Clutch and accelerator cable
14) Chain slider
15) Relays
16) Fuel filter
I chose to continue using Honda's oil filter because Yamaha has given a life of only 3000 kms for the FZ oil filter. It's gonna be a pain to change the oil filter every 3k kms.
Anybody wants to add to this list, your comments are welcome.Last edited by leech; 08-27-2016, 12:34 AM.

I think you can add engine Oil & back brake pads to the list as they are consumables.Originally posted by leech View PostOk, I got some loose change to spend, and I want to buy common spares to future proof the bike because the nearest Svc is 50 kms away, and they don't have parts in stock always.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Engine oil is not going to be scarce in coming years. I use 10w30 Honda mineral. Back brake pads are going to be pulsar 220's from now. Even those pads are scarce, I found only one. Gotta get more.
Mirrors, levers and indicators bushes are first to break in case of a fall. The Malapuram Svc didn't have brake levers in stock, despite their service centre being 3 times bigger than Didar Egmore.

You can also include clutch and accelerater cables, chain sliders if it needs replacement.Originally posted by leech View PostOk, I got some loose change to spend, and I want to buy common spares to future proof the bike because the nearest Svc is 50 kms away, and they don't have parts in stock always.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
This radiator cover is not resistant to air flow as it seems . The inner net is having much required space. Cant post a better pic as i dnt have better camera nw.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostMan how does your bike breath?

Did the bike overheat because of the bent fins? Or did you change the radiator anticipating future problems?Originally posted by sonnu0100 View PostThis radiator cover is not resistant to air flow as it seems . Re: Honda CBR 250R
The bike starting to overheat . First time in my four year of bike ownership i see full six bar in temperature . changed via insurance. ( even case is still going on in consumer court, as they service centre guy bent the fins while washing )Originally posted by leech View PostDid the bike overheat because of the bent fins? Re: Honda CBR 250R
You got the things replaced under insurance was good, but imho you are just wasting time and money in the court just for a radiator.
I don't know how people tend to forget to inform the guy who is washing the bike that "boss, radiator pe paani mat maarna full jet ke saath (do not spray water on radiator with full jet)"
Your current setup by installing a radiator grill is not going to do much wonders, because you are blocking considerable amount of air flow to the radiator.
Also when ride in sand, i am thinking that you are riding in slush because of rainy season. And when you ride in slush for most of time, make it a weekly habbit of taking a tooth brush and clean the radiator gently. Periodic cleaning of radiator will help in a long way.
Cheers,
Sanjay
