Should actually make the front end a little sharper & lighter. And the front axle height would actually be raised by a wee 2 to 3 mm.

Guys, i am looking for a pre-owned cbr and had talks with owners on two models both abs versions. One is 2012 owned, done 17k kms and the second one is 2015 model, done 5k kms. The difference in asking price between two is a whopping 58k.

I wanted to know what are major checkpoints which I should check during inspection.
Also is the warranty and insurance applicable/transferrable to 2nd owner.

Michelin Pilot Sporty is one of the worst tyres i have used so far. Be very careful while hard braking and in wet conditions. They tend to loose traction easily under hard braking.

Considering the demand that ABS CBR has, and the MY and the KMS it has clocked, it's a no-brainer that a premium is being quoted for the newer one. I would personally suggest to test ride the bike thoroughly and then decide. Yes, newer and lesser run the bike, the more pricier it would be, that's how it works, plus fiscal year depreciation. Go for what you like, and bargain a little harder for the 2015.

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            THE END

I recently almost purchased an used hornet 160r. I noticed that Honda warranty for 5 years was transferable and insurance too. But do check whether the insurance is bumper to bumper, zero depreciation etc.. some times it is not and some insurance companies allow you to upgrade to these features by paying extra...

a thinner tyre will indeed make it lighter and corner easily however thinner tyres also reduce the straight line stability at high speeds.

front has nothing to do with the speedo. speed is taking from the crank sensor and if rear is upsized or downsized the sync changes and hence speedo error.

fight with them, a new bike should not be having this. and shoot multiple emails to Honda informing them that you will take legal action.

Yeah I understand that newer vehicle will command a premium and also its only run 4500 kms and owner is travelling abroad for studies. The purchase needs to be done before Tuesday . The price is equal to a new Pulsar RS 200 (ABS)

Whereas the 2012 model is close to a new Gixxer

Also, is the Warranty for honda transferrable? and if transferrable can we opt for extended warranty now?

How can i check the service records? Service manual will be have entries but the same can be meddled with easily. My KTM SVC used to enter the Service details on time even though my entire service was delayed by a month (due to delay in registration process and a accident i had within a month of purchase)

For hornet, along with service manual, there was a small booklet for 5 year warranty from Honda. It had a transfer of ownership form which has to be signed by the current owner.

Service records on the service manual are not trustworthy.
The best way to check records is to ask him for all service bill receipts. Odo reading till that particular service is printed on receipt. From this you also get an idea, is the owner done all service in the recommended or not.

Though I'm not quoting any posts this post is only for those who is willing to buy a pre-owned CBR.

Don't believe on any papers as those can easily be altered, take the bike for a test ride, be it with the owner as pillion don't mind it, and most important is don't drool for a low price as if you need to own a pre-ownened CBR at a good deal you need to pay at least a lack, and that's the truth.

So, don't judge the bike by the price just take a ride and be confident on the owner.

Steel braided brake lines you need specifically for the abs version, I own a non abs a version. I got my brake lines from Thailand, just took measurement of my front line n got it, the braking is a lot better. You've gotta be careful about the abs as it has 3 lines and a bit tricky to install I assume , do write to revzilla and ask them, they have quality products but at a high rate, even exhausts n fuel controllers n much more. Coming to exhaust, I planned to get ss(stainless steel) or carbon fibre bottle n make my own mid pipe in SS steel. Coming to maps , race dynamics or race concepts do a good job, do check both out.
