Naa I'm just curious, I ride in a mixed manner, most revs under 7000rpm , I very rarely take the bike above that, if possible I would sit at 70-80kmph at 6th gear all day long but I usually go up to 110kmph I don't really care about mileage, for me engine health is most important soo I make it a point to change oil at 3000-3500kms due to my mixed riding nature, not too hard or soft.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostMileage depends on a lot of factors.
Yes Honda throttle oil would give a better mileage theoretically in the same scenario compared to say motul/shell FS since the Honda oil is 10W30 and these are 10W40. More the viscosity the harder the engine has to work.
I used to get 30kmpl initially when I got the bike....But later I switched to shell advance and now I get around 34~35. Is it because of the oil?, certainly not. It's the way I'm riding now compared to then. Riding sanely will always give a better mileage. There are lot of articles on how to increase mileage, if that's what you try to achieve.

I recently got a mileage of 45.7/ltr... My bike is 5 years old and chain was slack during that time. i was cruising at ~80kmph, just killing time on the highway waiting for another group to catch up. It all depends on how you get your bike to highway speeds. Gradual throttle input, and gradual increase in rpms are the best way to bring out more kmpl. Once you start practicing this, your riding style would also change, be it in the city or the highway. Just try it out for a week or so.
Honda Throttle oil returns the best mileage, but i've experienced the oil to go flat at about 2500 kms. been sticking to Shell FS Ultra for a good period of 4 years, engine remains vibe free and seems less stressed.
EDIT: Shell FS lasts for 7500 kms for my usage.

Got 43 kmpl on a 250 kms highway run, riding between 90 to 110 kmph. What do you mean by not capable to hold its line? Do you mean to say you have to rev a little hard on the low gears to get enough power to shift to higher gears? If yes, then as fellow bhpian mentioned, it's purely related to gearing, the CBR has a short ratioed first and second gear which means the shift is required faster and the revs must be built up. And yes riding in traffic with a pillion is kinda a left foot play all the time. But nonetheless once the revs pick up, she wakes up.Originally posted by Mayankisme View PostHello people,

If it is recent phenomenon then check 1) too tight or dry cone set 2)soft front suspension 3)seasoned/hardened tyres 4)uneven wear of front tyre 5)too loose or too tight chain.Originally posted by Mayankisme View PostWhat? Imagine riding with no or less tire pressure at low speeds. Anyway, must be the tyre issue or the T-joint might have gone bad. Can't think of anything else. Bike makes a 'thock' noise from the front end when going over medium to hard potholes. The handle isn't hard to move, neither does it stray from its direction if i leave the handlebar. However I've had this sound since the past 3 years. Do I need to lug the Bonda to the SVC to check on the Coneset? What are the symptoms of a faulty Coneset anyway?

Definitely the coneset. You are in the starting stages of coneset wear, or another probability is getting the coneset greased (in front of your eyes). Also check if the coneset bearings are seated properly, if there are some small defects on the T whilst manufacturing, it might also result in a few bearings being out of place, and upsetting the overall balance (since you've been experiencing this for 3 years)
EDIT:
Whilst stationary, pump the forks while holding the front brakes, if you still hear the noise, it's the coneset. There will also be a small forward-backward shake/motion on the clipons.Last edited by Jon Niranjan Paul; 01-07-2017, 02:23 AM.
