Does that mean you own a factory for the same? Where are you from?

Yes mate. I have a factory in Bangalore (Peenya). This is the byproduct of our current business. we are expanding now to Tumkur and equipping ourselves with machining capabilities soon. So expect many such byproducts soon.

I would be interested in this, but first i have to change the radiator, almost 50% of fins are bent. Also where are you located, if you don't mind me asking. Will you ship to a different city? Appreciate if you could mention the cost of this gaurd.

Anyone know how much will a new radiator cost.

HiBrother. We do ship it across the world. We already have sold more than 2000 pieces in the last couple of months. The price for the CBR 250R guard will be 1572+Taxes and shipping on actuals.

I would request you to PM me for any other questions as I don't want people to start treating me as a seller. I am more of a proud member than a seller Hope you won't mind.

Well, it's glad to know that you are introducing new accessories for the CBR, which is kinda diluted by the expensive monopoly players out there. Make in India with good quality is always feasible. Keep your products coming, you have Classifieds too, where you can sell your products. Stay as a member, but make sure you make use of the classifieds.

            Welcome to the CBR club.

            Cheers

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            THE END

My friend is selling his December 2011 cbr non abs, having 70k odo reading and quoting 60k for it.
Considering its 5yr old bike, is it worth buying it now?
It needs servicing, oil change and it has some battery or stator coil issue.

Though the price your friend is mentioning its reasonable, will suggest you not to go for such a high mileage bike. If you are not strapped for cash will suggest to look for 2013/2014 model bikes with 15/20k kms on speedo. You will get non abs model within 80/90/100K.

Ask your friend for a long ride. Test the top speed and mileage by tank to tank method. Check the engine sound, compare with another CBR and find out if the bike has any shim noise.

Check the bike frame for rust, check the insurance record for accident. Find out the cost of repair of the stator coil, if the issue is genuinely the coil.

[QUOTE=krish2778;1268836]Sounds like the connector leads might have fallen loose a bit. If you know how to pop out the side fairing, should be an easy fix, im guessing it wouldn't be too tough to access it even without removing the side fairing.

Don't think it can be done so easily. How much has the bike clocked so far ?

The bike's battery was low so it was basically dead i thought the kms driven must be more that's why they must have cut the battery connection and then later reset the kms while delivery!

Afaik, disconnecting or cutting the battery does not reset the odo meter. You will have to replace the console for that to happen.

Suppose You get the bike for 50K, in worst case, you spend around 25K, for bringing back to its past glory(Shims, Starter coil, Battery, wiring, Paints, Tyre, etc). Expecting the Engine is alright, its a good deal. Anything more, not worth it. if it was maintained well, engine components will last for 1 Lakh kms in a Honda. Do check the Engine first at a service center.

Is this "1 lakh kms engine lasting" scenario common with only Hondas/Japs?

I seem to recall a p200ns owner who did 2.5 lakh kms in his bike. Another couple of p150 owners crossed 1 lakh kms on their vehicles, although the data isn't clear on whether they had any engine rebuilding done.

Bike is not in use for more than a month and there is no current in battery, so no ignition. His mechanic told him his stator coils need to be replaced ( i doubt this, i never heard stator coil going kaput. Must be tht earthing current problem here which is famous in old cbr's).
Both the tyres and break pads are new.
I have the budget to buy the new one but it doesn't make sense to buy new one when my intention of using it is just for next 2 or 3 yrs.

I've heard of a couple CBR owners having their stator coils conk off. Also a ninja 650 owner had his stator coil conk off after 50k kms. I was planning to buy a spare coil, but never got round to it.

Any Engine will cross 1 Lakh kms without bore piston replacement, if maintained properly. My old RTR has reached 90K kms now with only head cleaning done twice. Its all about how you maintain it.
