Nope this is the Non ABS Variant. I wanted to go for the ABS variant. But tough luck did not get 1 in red all over Bangalore. Waiting time was 30 - 45 days. Opted for the standard variant instead

No Idea about delhi, but for Mumbai you can go to Vihaan Honda in Manpada, Thane.

The mechanic's name is Abdul but, there is a catch. You need to put a bit of pressure on him to do the relevant work and labor charges are expensive than other SVC.

Cheers,
Sanjay

Guru Kumar - could you let us know how engine ice performs compared to stock Honda coolant. Of course after running for some 100 miles or so.

Just Completed Changing Regular Company Coolant To Engine Ice...

Sorry I Did Take Some Pictures But Then I Was Totally Engrossed In CBR. Could Not Take The Picture.

Well Here Is What I Did.

Removed Three No.5 Allen Key Bolts To Part Away The Side Faring. Then Removed Under Cover Plastic Faring Which Needed Philip Screw Driver.
Removed The Coolant Reservoir Cover. Removed The Overflow Pipe Coming From Radiator To Coolant Reservoir Here Take Care Don't Disengage The Pipe From Reservior Side It Is A Very Tight Area And Once Removed You Will Have To Remove The Right Foot peg And Whatever On The Way To Reach The Reservoir Tank Nut.

Now Drained The Company Coolant. Kept The Radiator Cap Open Filled With Plain Water. Started The Engine Made The Fan Run Twice Then Little Time To Let The Engine Cool This Takes 10min Max.

Now After Draining The Water. 2 Run Poured Vinegar 300ml And Filled With Water. Made The Fan Run Twice. Drained Vinegar Water. This Time Above My Head All The Crows Started Gathering There Was A Huge Comotion. I Guess The Smell Of Vinegar Pull Them All. Vinegar Does Make The Difference I Could See The Water Was Bubbling Like Cola And Cleaning Was Effective.

Now Round Three Filled The Radiator With Water Made The Fan Run Twice. Just After 10 Minutes Drained. Repeated The Process Twice. Made Sure All Is Clean.

Now Poured The Most Awaited Engine Ice Coolant. Filled The Reservoir Above The Max Mark.
Now The Water Which I Used To Rinse Was Municipal Tap Water.

I Didn't Close The Radiator Cap This Actually Helped Me To Understand How Water In The Radiator Was Flowing Reason I Did That Was Our Bike Has A Thermostat Valve Which Only Opens At Certain Temperature Only Then The Water From Engine Circulates To Radiator. I Thought It Is Dangerous But It Was Not Nothing Forcefully Coming Or Shooting Out Of Radiator.

This Month I Will Head Back To Madurai From Mumbai. I Guess That Ride Of 1600km Will Be Enough For Me To Give You A Review On Engine Ice Coolant.

God Bless

Did you fill the radiator with coolant? or only reservoir?

Just noticed the Engine Ice coolant is Propylene Glycol based (mentioned on the your bottle picture). Honda CBR250R manual suggests to use Ethylene Glycol based coolants only. Ethylene glycol-based fluids have superior heat transfer quality and is less dense in nature than Propylene Glocol fluid hence consuming less power circulating the fluid. The only quality which makes Propylene Glocol better is its toxic-free nature.

First Filled Radiator With Engine Ice Left The Cap Open Started The Bike Waited For The Fan To Start. As Soon As The Fan Started All The Coolant In The Radiator Caved In Then I Topped It Waited For The Second Round Of Fan This Was For A Recheck. Then Closed The Radiator With Its Cap. Always Remember To First Close The Radiator Then Turn Off The Engine. I Saw While Flushing The Radiator With Water If You Switch Off Engine First Lots Water Just Burp Out Of Radiator. Then Finally Filled The Reservoir Tank.

So, Honda coolant is probably better than engine ice?

Dear all fellow cbr 250r owners. This is sagar from mumbai.I have been a silent observer of this thread since past couple of months and i am pleased to inform you all that i have finally bought my honda cbr 250r abs. (Pics attached. )I am an xbhpian since 4 years and This is my first post in this thread

Its been almost a month. Its 700 kms on odo
And i have already done my first servicing
I have noticed something with this bike, the chain loosens quickly and it affects speed(not a big thing but is this issue common,). Secondly the gear shifts are not totally buttersmooth, i had suzuki gs150 earlier and reason why i chose it over unicorn was smoothness in gear...

Downshifts are a bit tricky than upshifts. In first service they test rode it and noted it. And after service it improved a bit but i am still no satisfied. When u downshift a dryness is felt(not hardness).

Hey Sagar,

First of all Congratulations on the CBR [emoji4] .

My cbr has these issues too, even im not sure if its just few bikes or all of them. Mine is a March '13 model & whenever i get my chain tightened, it gets loose very quickly within a week time & both chain and sprocket are in very good shape still but has just half the life in them because of tightening the chain quite often.
(Looking For A Solution Here)

Now coming to the gear issue hard clicks could possibly be because of bad or less Engine Oil or in my case its because of the gear lever, which attracts too dust and sand & gets clicky everytime i upshift or downshift. Once my svc guy removed the whole thing and put grease in all those parts which moves when we shift and that solved it.

Thank you zaid for your response

I guess even my issue would be lever. As i dont find gear shifts hard but i find roughness/dryness in lever. The feeling is like a thirsty throat or a door latch which feels rough and than we oil it to make the operation smooth.

I will check the same with svc guy

Searched the post but could not find the details. Maybe I missed it.
Gave my used CBR for a full paid service. One request was to change the brake pads. The adviser was telling me to put Brembo as they are better. I am not sure since Nissin is OEM. Can someone please help me as to what are the costs and which would be a better decision?

My ride is with the C-ABS

My riding is sedate (until the servicing since it is a used bike and also until I understand the bike).
Plan to touch 100 - 110 only on long open roads with wife as pillion else just enjoy the ride at proper RPMs.

Thanks!

First off, the Nissin themselves are class apart, beautiful brakes in my opinion. The prices of the pads of OEM Nissin HMSI parts

Rs. 1280 for Rear Brake pads

Rs.1900 - 2000 for Front brake pads

These are for Nissin ABS.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END
