If non-ABS, it's easier than anything!

First of all take a big flathead screwdriver, insert between disk and right-side pad (one towards caliper's piston). Now push the pad towards piston side till it reaches last extent. You may see brake fluid level goes up into the reservoir. By now, you would have free space between disk and pad. Time to remove hanger pin. Once hanger pin is removed, pads are free to be taken out. Insert new pads, engage hanger pin. That's all. NO NEED TO REMOVE WHEEL.

    Thank you!

There are the LED light options which are very good.... There is a different thread and you'll lot of CBR owner particiaption.

No. These are Galfer ceramics. [emoji1] Well worth the cost.

PS : My chain and sprocket still good at 26k. I spoke to the mech at Didar egmore, and he assured me there is no need to change them now.

              • Clicking Sound from my CBR 250R

                Hi Experts,

I have a 2015 HONDA CBR 250R and i am riding it for 5 months now. But recently when i was riding in highway NH-6 I suddenly encountered a clicking sound from my bike.
And its strange that the sound starts after 6k RPM and not on low RPM.

                Any idea??? Please advise

Clicking sound or stitching sound, post 6k RPM, is that what you are trying to say here? Please be a bit more specific. Do you hear this sound when idling or above a set RPM?

                  Cheers!

Guys, I have posted sometime back regarding fuel evaporation from my cbr. now after observing 2 full tank fill-ups till brim(just above the metal filter/protector below the tank neck) and keep the bike idle for 4-5 days at parking, I confirmed the fuel gets evaporated(fuel level goes below from the point which I noted). i checked both measure by keeping bike straight.
6 fuel bars present when I park the bike, when I start ride bike after 5 days, its shows 5 bars. and after riding around 20kms it turn to 4 bars. I park at basement, so no way this hot weather or sunlight affects. I closed the lid properly and no fuel leak anywhere for sure. What can be done to resolve this issue. Is the rubber washer on lid alone can be replaced? Or entire fuel lid to be repaired to replaced?

                    • Used or New? Used CBR PDI List please!

                      Hello every one.

Many thanks for the awesome details and information. Really helped me firm up my decision. I own a TBTS 500 May 2013 Model. Done 24K and changed the Chain, Clutch Plates and some cables at 20K. Though the bike is awesome, and I was lucky to get a niggle free piece, my mind refuses to accept the RE attitude and pure apathy in the service front. Till date I did not have an experience where the bike was trouble free after the service. From EFI Fuel hose being not fitted properly, to complaints in JC not being attended to and discovering that the headlights are not working post service at 8 PM on the highway. And then some more.

So finally decided that of at all I need to spend 30 minutes to check the bike after even a minor visit to the SVC, I might as well buy something which is a better and refined engine. At least I would not be riding in May and thinking - "Monsoons are coming, I need to ensure to wrap up my 'exposed' electricals and wires to avoid short circuits" and similar mental stress.

I have selected the CBR 250 R ABS. I am getting a 2011 model 17K KMs done for 90K and a 2011 model 12K KMs done for 1.10. I am little concerned about buying a used mechanical device. But then it is a Honda and difficult (though not impossible) to screw up the engine at 12-17 K.

How and what do I do for a second-hand Honda CBR 250 ABS PDI? If I could get a list or a link, I would be more grateful!

Is it worth going for a new one @2.21 OTR as compared to the above deals? Provided they are in good condition?

                      Regards,

Could be some washer issue may not need to change the lid itself.

Is it worth buying a new CBR ? Yes if you have intentions of using the bike for a long time but if you are somebody who will be changing bike/going for upgrade in lets say less than 3-4 years then NO, the prices of second hand CBR are terrible at this point of time and its going to get even worse over the time so re-sale value is not that good.
Coming to your options here's I have 2011 model but I recommend people to for 2013 or later (I know the irony ) because they have few spares which are cheaper than 2011 model like the lock set is 10K for 2011 but for newer models its 5-6k. It just few spares that will be cheaper not the regular wear and tear spares they are same for all models.
There's simple golden rule for buying any second hand bike.
                        • No frame damage You have to check this there's no if and buts about it.
                        • Test ride a showroom model then go for test ride of second hand bike you will know the difference and if its too bad.
                        • Check service history (simply ask him/her where they give for service if its one of the places which are mentioned in GOOD SVC list of XBHPians then its somewhat better maintained)

                        Happy Biking,

Hey guys, has anyone installed a radiator guard on CBR? Is it necessary? My CBR is almost 40 days old now and I can see bent fins around the center and left part.. Struggling to straighten it out.

Thank you very much Mohan. Even though I do not plan to change the bike soon, the advantage of a new bike (spares cost POV) is iffy. Since they are not the major wear and tear parts.

That said, I am going for a TD on both 2011 and 2012 models this Saturday and shall share the observations.

I live in Goa. We have one service center and thats about it

Stay away from 2011 early models. Try finding 2012 or later models.

it can be leakage from the fuel filter as well ...
for CBR the fuel filter sits outside of the tank just below it. make sure the ring clips are intact and small rubber hoses are not worn out and leaking fuel...
there is a rubber cover between engine and tank to keep the heat and fuel from spilling right over the engine.
