unsure on ABS ones as 3 lines needs to be changed and we will have to go the expensive route of galfer or HEL. however for NON-ABS P220 line works fine for the front.

Just curious if anyone tried installing the steel lines for the ABS, happy with what the brakes have offer. If my memory serves me right, it's either here or international, I remember a guy opting for a custom made steel braided line for the front non-ABS, real chic job.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

Guys, dumb question coming up - I went to a local guy for adjusting the chain, however he put it too tight, there is only few mm's of freeplay. Is this harmful?

part 1 : i have done trips over trips over trips in past 4 years including ladakh. the stock windsheild works just fine. unless your helmet is loose i have not seen any kind of issue. times when i and many have toured in triple digits for hours without any issues.

part 2 : stock cbr speedo itself is 7% over optimistic. now yu have downsized the tyre and yes thats what is adding to the speedo error. and low FE and low top end.
move back to 140/70 - michelin, MRF, pirelli , Dunlop, Ceat .. all have good tyres in stock size..

part 3 : unless the saddle bag is loose or unbalanced it will not hit the exhaust. if you tried the enfield big saddle bags on cbr they are bound to burn.
run a bungee from behind the bags to either side and it will protect those.

that pipe look hideous man.. why would you do such a thing.
and that tyre for sure will kill your handling

          ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

          1. get the forks alignment and condition checked. also check for warped disc rotor. i am sure its the disc rotor. check the pads for uneven wear.
          2. no bike will stop insttantly with any break however if you meant by you feeling the bite coming into picture after 5-0 meters then get the pad cleaned and rubbed.
if you havent changed the brake fluids then flush old one and put new one and repeat every year.
          3. this is not even an issue unless you explain further . but if there is sound get the clutch cable slack checked.
Part 1 I ride in 3 figures all through the highways in plain, may be it is bound to happen...I take your advice and will change my helmet...please suggest me some in 4K range

Part 2 Yes FE has reduced by 3-4kmpl, I haven't yet tried top end on this tyre but handling has improved drasticaly, I find cornering far more smooth and confidence inspiring with this tyre than the stock one also this tyre holds very well in mud and gravel

Part 3 As I had mentioned in my thread I got these mods according to my riding style/need...I ride with a pillion, and when this burning thing happened yes I was riding with big saddle bags...without a pillion all goes well but when you ride with a pillion saddle bag has to be shifted a bit back so that pillion gets feet on footrest...I tried bungee but still it was happening, exhaust fumes were hitting the edge of the bag and also without a saree guard that bag was touching the tyre(only when pillion sits)so I made a saree guard kind of thing with bungees...
It was wrong on my part to go with that big bag...Please suggest a saddle bag...I have heard cramster colt is good

custom made lines can be done. any industrial area which repair trucks makes steel lines for trucks and buses when they do the vechile body build.
they can cut the line with the length you need and tread it with connectors as you like for less than 300 bucks per line which is far cheaper than branded ones.

i know places in Hyd. can call you if you need more info on that.

Part 2: yes, it is due to the change in tyre size.

Part 3: not sure, but unless it's not restricting the air flow it should not be a problem.

yes it will and to a huge extent. ride slow and get it fixed asap. you are basically looking for a damaged chainset and a out of alignment chain after a few 100 kms if you run like this. lube well take it back to reduce friction and get it fixed. ASAP.

                unsure on cramster.
viaterra have quite a few options. and you can add a bigger tank bag to reduce load on saddlebags.

I find stock seat is too hard and it becomes very inconvenient on long rides...from where can i get a softer seat in delhi ?
also i have heard of gel seat...please guide me through this.

Also on longer rides i get pain in my wrists. suggest something, will raised handlebar be a solution to this ?
Too soft seat also would hurt you I personally believe the cbr has ideal seat padding. You ll get used to it. Don't worry. I messed up with the rear seat padding and I wish I didn't do that. It's too soft now.

Try not putting your weight on the handle bars instead hold the tank with your thighs. That too only if you are heavy and riding down hill. Else it shouldn't be a problem. It's just that you had to get used to it.
                  Ride Safe!

at 120 - 70mph even with the biggest windsheild available for CBR you will still have windblast.
double bubble have a slight hump in center and it becomes more aerodynamic when you completely tuck down. it wont affect anything if you are sitting upright.

a custom windsheild which is standing upright and not going along the curve will eat your roll on acceleration and top end. i can guarantee you that.

Maybe because I am new to CBR and before getting used to it I have done many long rides in mountain, I am facing this.
While riding downhill, I was getting pushed by the weight of pillion which made it severe.

As to the seat, I put a mesh like cover for it, it helps avoid a sweaty butt on long rides. You will get used to the seat eventually, it's a good balance of firm and soft.

dude i am 5.11+ and never got tired due to windblast. a nice textile jacket and a snug fit helmet is all you need.
unfortunately last helmet i bought was 3 yeas ago hence for helmet riding gear thread would be apt place.

i have done 600-700 km ride one way in 10-12 hours of ride all kind of highways. unless its a windy day i never had any concerns with wind blast.

Thanks, I ll take care of it.

soft seat is an option. you can get a gel addon. but let me give you some background info. the more softer seat you get the more your butt will sink in. you will make your spine vulnerable to every bump that comes your way. as for now the butt is protecting it on a harder seat.

you will get adjusted with time. the major problem is sweat. buy padded cycling shorts and wear them inside jeans/riding pants. they will cover for the soft seat part.

I see ,my uncle picked this up from Thailand for a very decent price, make seems good too. Also come to understand CBR 150 front brake pads fit CBR 250 front and also I see u talking about tyre sizes, I'm on a 140/60-17 tyre which I got for free as my conti go kept on puncturing, the front is still stock conti n back is mrf , I'm planning to change front n back to mrf stock CBR size, if I had more money I would go for Michelin with my eyes closed, also I see you've mentioned Ceat, how are those tyres? I imagine it's priced as much as the MRF?
