Re: Honda CBR 250R
Wheel balance? Its fine to run the bike, cornering has suffered but I'm waiting to go back to the stock size, also there is a difference when going over bumps. Someone said I might experience a wrong reading of speed , it might be slower than what the odo show by 3-5 kmph im eagerly waiting to change both tyres.Originally posted by Guru Kumar View PostSo Bro How Did You Manage To Get Your Weels Balanced.

Any One With The Knowledge Could Help Me Address The Problem.Originally posted by Guru Kumar View PostWell Guys Recently I Got 2 Puncture On My Conti Tyres Back As Well As Front. Removed Both The Tyer Front And Back One At A Time And Fixed The Puncture With Patches From Inside The Tyre. Now The Wobble Was Gone Tyre Was Full Of Air And Was Looking Great 👌. Now While I Was Fixing Those Tyre Back On My Bike. I Took My Time To Give It A Through Inspection. I Realized While There Is This Led Weight On The Tyre And Now That My Tyre Has Been Removed Completely And Fitted Again It Must Have Shifted For The Place It Was Before So Now I Nees To Do A Balance Check. I Went To ASC Asked The Guy To Check It He Stated "It Is Only Checked When You Fit In New Tyres" Furious I Left. Cursing Myself First Why Did I Visit Those Poultry Farm Boys. Seriously That Was A Thought Out Of Frustration. So I Took My Paddock Stand And Tried To Fix It But Still Not Sure Have I Got The Spot Right Or Not.
Well After 3 Days I Found My Tyre Was Loosing Pressure So I Returned To The Same Tyre Shop And He Check Both The Tyres By Immersing It In The Water Tub But Nope There Was Nothing. Again In 3 Days Time Same Pressure Returned To 24psi. Well I Guessed Its Micro Puncture So No Way Any Puncture Shopwala Is Going To Help Here. I Started Searching For Slime Liquid Tyre Sealent. But Ended In Vain No One Had It In My City Madurai. I Visited My Old Friend Who Happens To Be A Manager At Yamaha Requested Him To Order It For Me He Did That In 2 Days Time I Had It I Felt Like A Bliss. Medicine For Micro Puncture.
Now For Past 20 Days I Have Been Checking My Tyre Pressure Its The Same 32psi No Changes At All. But My Question On The Weel Balance Is Left Behind And Now As I Have A Liquid Inside My Tyre I Cannot Opt For A Balance As It Will Never Be Right.
So Guys I Want To Know Is There A Place In Madurai Or Mumbai As This Month End I Plan To Go To Mumbai Any Address Who Does A Manual Or Computerized Check On Balance Will Be Great Coz After I Reach Mumbai I Plan To Change My Conti To Metz.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There Was No Way I Was Getting Those Micro Puncture Detected. I Tried Even Sundar Tyre The Said The Person Who Use To Do Balancing Job For Bike Has Shifted To Coimbatore And Said You Cannot Fix Two Weeler Tyre On The Four Weeler Machine For Balancing.
Previously I Owned R15 V2 Made 3 Time Mumbai Madurai Trip Slime Was Really A Boon My Tyre Had Run All The Way To 27000 Km Without Any Deformation. So Out Of Experience I Used Slim In My CBR250R Tyre.
By The Way Are You From Madurai If Yes Nice To Know You Then.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The smell of fuel around the fuel cap area after prolonged non usage is perfectly fine, Hari, not at all a problem. What should be alarming is fuel leakage of any sort, which isn't, rest assured it's normal what you've been observing.Originally posted by Harisankar View PostThis is the first time I see a trouble on my cbr in the last 1 year of ownership and that too a weird thing about missing fuel.
I filled petrol till the brim and just rode around 4kms and parked at basement. It was not used for 2 weeks as I was not in town. when I took the bike after two weeks,I noticed that fuel gauge shows only 4 bars(its was full tank when I parked). I thought something went wrong with fuel gauge. I opened the lid and found petrol level is bit lower but not too low.i remember I closed the lid properly after filling. No fuel leak anywhere. I continued riding for 3 days and completed 126kms odo and the fuel guage reached from third to second bar. Then I was suspicious and filled petrol full tank today and found 7.25 litres went inside(7.25 litres for 126 kms).
So I understood nothing wrong with fuel gauge. i checked the fuel lid and I couldn't find anything faulty but there is a slight smell petrol near the lid when its closed. In short, aprox 2.5 litres of petrol missing when the bike was parked at basement
. I will keep an eye on this and confirm if it repeats. Guys do you have any clue on this whether it might happened due to some small misalignment of fuel lid?
Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi guys,
My motorcycle was parked and fell to its right side. Bike engine was not running at that time. I didn't do anything at that time, just visually inspected it and everything looked fine. I tried to start it after 2.30 hours, fuel pump made that usual sound of injecting the fuel and when I tried to start, it just won't. Starter motor is also working. Thinking that engine might have been flooded, I opened the throttle a little and the starter motor started spinning faster but the bike won't start.
After trying for sometime (not pressing the start button for more than 4 seconds of course), the battery got weak. I have now charged the battery completely but still the same thing. Have also checked the relay and fuses but they all seem fine. Any clues what it might be?
I think it's something very small that I am missing as I rode the motorcycle yesterday just fine. The issue started today after it fell.
Thanks!

might be the bank angle sensor acting up. else this time keep the starter going on for 8-10 seconds and keep moving the throttle front and back. like (revvin it ). pull and leave a few times. it works. have seen similar issue on another cbr and revving it a few times did fix it.
if the bike starts dont leave it as it is. ride a few km so the ECU gets back to normal values as standard."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

It seems like a flooded engine.
Do this: (Copied from manual)
If the engine fails to start after repeatedattempts, it may be flooded.
1. Open the throttle fully.
2. Press the start button for 5 seconds.
3. Follow the normal starting procedure.
4. If the engine starts with unstable idle, open the throttle slightly. If the engine does not start, wait for 10seconds, then follow steps 1 3 again.

motorcycle wheels are way diffrent than car wheels. now coming to balancing. let me update a few basics here
wheel balancing for motorcycle wheels needs to be done at each tyre change.
how to find out what to do ? below are the pointers.
motorcycle wheels heaviest point is usually near or at the place where the air nozzle is out.
each tyre has a heavy point too and is marked by a small green or red dot and is mandate for each manufacturer to do.
when getting the tyre installed make sure that red/green dot sits oppsoite to the nozzle. 2 heavy points will create a balance.
when not done correctly these usually cause vibes, wobbling at high speed and also pressure on chain and sprockets.
these wobbles will also wear down your swirnarm bushes early due to lateral movement.
besides these there are weights as well which are used for fine balancing of the wheels. unlike car weights these sit in center rather edges. you would need to take the wheel out run on a manual or machines jig and fine balance it. youtube for manual balancing videos. there are many.
as of hyderabad no car balancing shop is ready to balance a motorcycle wheel. i am indeed surprised they are doing in other cities and if so what kind of machine are they using as a standard machine used for cars cannot be used for motorcycle rims as it measure weight balance across the width of the rim which will not work for motorcycle rims. rather we can only add weights on center of the rim.
if they are adding weight on the sides then its not doing any good as car wheels tend to run flatter and motorcycles wheels go through corners leaned across.

Hi Theironhorse,
I don't think fuel pump would start once bank angle sensor is on..
the fuel pump does kick in even with the bank angle sensor but the power to spark is cut off which will not let the fuel ignite."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."
