What about the CBR 400/500 cbx , cb, are those bikes a joke? In europe and usa there are 500, in other countries it's a 400 twin pot, I know cost wise it will priced about 4-5 lakhs but why not even refreshing the 250? as you've noticed 2016 saw a revised 500r, looks absolutely gorgeous in my opinion.

So boom! goes our locally produced CBR 650F and Boom! goes the Rebel 300 and 500.

Honda Japan sees India as a cash generator. They grudgingly gave us the 650f.

Well, customers have other choices. Kawasaki brings so many models to the table, there is no need to keep a seat for Honda.

@IamAditya, nice add. But here is what I think to what Mr. Minoru or Honda India in general might have had in their minds. Honda by no means have made an understatement meaning they don't have experience in making a motorcycle. The fact of the matter is, they might have meant that they don't have the expertise to make a cheap motorcycle compromising on quality of the overall vehicle (which in layman's terms is reducing costs, say by 20 to 15k) and provide an affordable machine riddled with "can go bust anywhere anytime" analogy behind it, now that's one part of the speculation.

Secondly, with the XRE 300 added to the already frustrated yet heated up cook pot, Honda might be turning their direction completely towards the Adventure and start ditching the mid category sports bikes. Why? Well, here is what I can think of with the current situation prevailing in India. We've already had the likes of KTM ADV 390, BMW 310 GS and the Himalayan excite the hornet's nest. People are waiting for a good Adventure motorcycle here in India, so Honda might turn to the lure of this adventure category with a overbored 250cc, that's second.

Thirdly, even if Honda comes out with this ADV, pricing is VERY V E R Y crucial for it to be sold. If they can sell this XRE in and around the 2 Lakh on road ballpark, they definitely have a winner in their hands. The only grouse, is the seat height, it's a farce at 830 mm but hey, that's how adv bikes with long travel suspension are designed.

Also Honda has said they will be launching two new scooters and two new motorcycles in the upcoming fiscal. Can it be a faired Hornet 160 considering the sales that Suzuki has garnered with their 155cc Gixxer, or are we suckers for a faired motorcycle with anything over 50cc is yet to be unfolded. The Africa Twin has already been planned to be assembled as CKD and three new mysterious motorcycles this year. We'll have to wait and watch.

Shan the rubber flap that you see is present in all CBR 250s. It covers the manifold joint, throttle body to intake manifoso that it doesn't look aesthetically unappealing. Secondly, rubber flaps are there to cover wide panel gaps or when the body to engine ratio at certain places are too far off, these plastic boots or flaps come into play. Absolutely normal.

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I dont see any V3 coming here, even if it does will take fare amount of time for sure. But you've alredy started comparing it with cbr stickers! The east asians are lucky because they're getting every exciting bikes in this segment- the r15 and cbr 250rr but not us for obvious marketing-sales reasons. And honda has pressure with 300-400cc? What does yamaha has to offer? an overpriced CKD? Honda has atleast bought us a home made 250 at best prices that they could afford. All fanboys went bashing honda for the lack of power figures then, and what yamaha did for us after more than half a decade of its launch? gave us a commuter 250! Make sense? yes it does. It will outsell the cbr. That's the strategy they are up to! In fact, for every manufacturers except for the desi ones coupling with their new foreign partners.

Honda 300cc engines have been facing serious engine problems. There had been many engine failures due to the Crank Shaft bearings failing ,and taking the Bore+Piston and the rest of components to destruction.. This had been happening , when engine is running and the vehicle is on the move, causing grievous injury to some riders. Subsequently these vehicles have been recalled...

Hi, the link says it was in Australia and then at the end there were links to check recall in US, UK, Canada etc..
Since, they mentioned it was a quality control issue in manufacturing process was this isolated to specific manufacturing unit in Australia or global??
It doesn't make much sense to recall globally if its not a process parameter issue and just quality control in mfg.

Assuming this is not the quality issue of bearing.

saikarthik - is the CBR 300 manufactured in Australia? Or are all the affected bikes from Thailand or Japan, and imported to those countries in the list?

• Re: Honda CBR 250R

I don't think its manufactured there, It might be CKD/SKD assembly line. There are manufacturing plants in brazil, US, etc..
But not sure whether they are assy lines or complete manufacturing for 300s.

Ya, thanks to you, I got another perspective.

The quality issue might be at the manufacturing of the supplier (tier 1) for crank case too. And if there is only single supplier, then global recall is logical.

If Honda launches same CBRs (250 and 150) with little changes or no changes, it's good for us. I wish the CBR production continues for years! As a owner, I would get spares at least!
