The guys at service centers are generally very lazy. They give stupid reasons for the problems.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
This same problem happened to me as well. My mechanic(previously cbr expert at honda svc) disassembled the calliper and lubricated few things and the problem vanished. I have done around 3-4k kms after that.Originally posted by manjuadiga View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Just wanted to ask something. My bike has done 2200 Kms. My rear brake was feeling weak. Went to SVC today and showed them the issue, they say the rear brake shoe has been worn out. They say in cbr the brake shoe wears off quickly. Is it true? What should I do?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks for the reply. I had already changed plunger piston. I have to look for damaged seals or o-rings. But there is no leakage anywhere except a little from reservoir cap. I have already ordered spare reservoir gasket.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostFront brake getting jammed can be due to worn piston seals which means the pistons are not expanding and retracting properly, and it's not the same old BS that the service center due to high brake fluid. I mean, the fluid reservoir hardly takes in 100 ML, so don't take their word for it. The fluid reservoir is designed to take the maximum and that's how it should be filled to the right spec.
Check your front fluid reservoir piston assembly, if it's jammed there are chances that the brakes would engage due to non-return of the plunger piston. There is a master cylinder service kit available especially for Bybre brakes. If the brake lever isn't springing back as it normally would, check your caliper piston for seizure and or damaged piston seals/o-rings.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
But then I don't keep my feet on the brake. Quite upset with Honda on this one.Originally posted by shan2306 View PostMine is 3230 odo. But the brake pads are is still feels like new. I think if we put our foot over the brake pedal always while riding, there is chances are there it will worn out fast.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I'd suggest check your caliper pistol seal, dust boot and pins. Even if the caliper pins are rusted they might not allow free caliper movement. Remove then, clean them grease caliper pins and install the back.Originally posted by manjuadiga View PostThanks for the reply. I had already changed plunger piston. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Please don't believe whatever the service techs say blindly and blame the manufacturer. Why would Honda plonk a inferior brake pads on yours alone, I too have changed my brake pads 10k km ago and still doing fine. And I'm someone who uses rear brake more often in traffic signal stops.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostBut then I don't keep my feet on the brake. Quite upset with Honda on this one.
Brake pads will bed in under usage, so bite will feel a little low. Just keep a eye on the brake oil reservoir.
If the mechanic insists it's the pads, ask him to remove and compare with new pads in front of you.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Search xbhp + cbr250 rear brake in Google. You can save around ₹500 if you use the pulsar's pads.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostJust wanted to ask something. My bike has done 2200 Kms. My rear brake pads/shoe/loafer lasted 25,000 kms, because I use it rarely. Currently I'm on the Bajaj pulsar 220 rear brake pads which have same bite as stock. They lasted 13,000 kms so far with heavy use. Google xbhp+ pulsar 220 rear brake pads for CBR 250 to get the part number of the pulsar pad and use them to buy from Bajaj SVC.
Ask them Mechanic to show you the condition of the rear brake pad. You should be able to see how worn out it is.Last edited by leech; 05-04-2017, 03:51 AM.

And as of pulsar 220 brake pads, if they are exact fit and are as strong as the Honda's, then I'll purchase it today itself.Originally posted by leech View PostSearch xbhp + cbr250 rear brake in Google. Re: Honda CBR 250R
They are way cheaper, do the job, as leech mentioned they can last upto 25k km depending on your usage of rear brake, I hardly use my rear brake, made it a habit in the last few months , also you might be stepping on the rear without knowing too, used to happen to me then I was made conscious of what I was doing, like I am aware of keeping my foot on the rear brake. 32000km no problem with the brakes at all , still on stock calipers. If your brake pads are wearing out too fast, watch your braking, do more engine braking and throttle blipping.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostThank you both for your help. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi. I use engine braking all the time. The only time I use rear brake is when I am open on the throttle in the city (when I am late that is).Originally posted by Deathwing View PostThey are way cheaper, do the job, as leech mentioned they can last upto 25k km depending on your usage of rear brake, I hardly use my rear brake, made it a habit in the last few months , also you might be stepping on the rear without knowing too, used to happen to me then I was made conscious of what I was doing, like I am aware of keeping my foot on the rear brake. 32000km no problem with the brakes at all , still on stock calipers. It seems rear brake pads are direct fit to non abs but they are not fit to abs modelOriginally posted by leech View PostSearch xbhp + cbr250 rear brake in Google.
