I am giving the youtube links for the shim/tensioner noise :

1. This video was shot after the bike was not ridden for 7 hours after i reached home.
This is the sound of the engine when the it was started after 7 hours since the bike was last ridden.

2. This is the video, after a small ride of 15km from office to home.

sanjaysangar1990, it's a classic symptom of offset adjustment in one of the valeves or a shim in one of the valves, you hear that small ticking noise that a worn/improperly sized shim. Get it checked. When doing so, also get your timing chain replaced.
Deathwing, brakes, tires and chain these three depend on the user, his style, and his due diligence, especially on the latter.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks VJ,

With the culprit has been found. I will go ahead with shim replacement on 25 feb in mumbai.

and about the timing chain, I cannot force the SVC to replace the timing chain. if they find it faulty, only then thy will replace it.

Is this covered in warranty ?

Cheers,

Guys, i had my bike serviced 2 days ago. Mechanic overfilled the engine oil (full 2L). now oil level window is full of oil when kept upright. [upper level of oil isnt visible anymore)

how can i remove the excess oil? Can i insert a small tube from oil filling hole and suck excess oil out?
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Yes. Make sure that tube is clean though. Overfilling by a small amount is OK. I ride my bike with slightly overfilled engine oil, and I have no oil leaks or other problems. The reason I overfill it is because it mutes the annoying 5k rpm vibes 'drrr' noise.

I don't think timing chain will come under warranty, as it's a wear and tear part, but you can get your luck checked.

Use a small clear tube and suck it or use a small hand water spray pump (the one that you use to spray water like on Colin, and garden sprayers, and the ones barbers use) remove and insert it into the oil hole and start pumping, while keeping a close eye on the oil level.

Messed up with my oil filter casing. Actually I found out that the casing was not seated properly that one edge was little odd. Since I couldn't wait to fix this I removed the casing wasted 150ml of oil again and found this.

The oil filter gasket is a bit weird. Didn't supervise the fitting of oil filter gasket when my mechanic did it.

It looks like this. It's not according to the shape of the casing. There are two little edges sticking out. Is this normal? Some please notice and report.

Now I'm Wondering whether I bought the wrong part? I guess the nothing was changed since the cbr was launched. May be the spares guy gave me a 150r's gasket that too I don't know if it's any different.

Now, The super blender I did was while putting the casing back and tightening the bolts, one bolt was not Ohk. So I thought I would try and turn it one more thread if not will buy a new bolt and replace it. The time I twisted it the thread cut and the bolt head came out and the remaining is stuck inside now. And the oil is leaking now because of this half tightened broken bolt. Now it has to be drilled carefully and taken out. I had to bring it back to chennai to do this cuz I don't trust the SVC guys here or any one for that matter.

So for now my mechanic suggests that I seal the oil casing with mseal and it can be easily removed later on while I take her to him for fixing the casing. Does that sound good or makes any sense? I really don't have any options here.. 😭😭😭

The little flap that you see is absolutely normal and that shouldn't be a problem at all, that's how the gaskets themselves are designed. So the gasket part is fine. See, this is exactly what I was asking earlier, were the threads in tact. Now we'll have to drill the stuck bolt and install a new bolt. Now the critical part is the drilling itself, if the guy slips and accidentally drills too much inside or sideways, you're in bad luck, the entire clutch casing has to be changed. Take it to guy who is experienced with these drilling tactics, these are soft aluminum cast components, make a mistake and either you're gonna have this leak permanent or change the case, worst case.

This is why there are torque specifications, torque something too much, they shear like this.

Cheers!

Thanks VJ. Can I paste it with m-seal as a temp solution to control oil leak until the casing is fixed? I'll probably come back to chennai by the start of the next month.

Small/narrow tube won't go into the belly of sump. Open the drain bolt slowly and remove the desired amount of oil into a pan/bowl (I have done so). Don't not overfill oil. Adhere by Manual. It strictly addresses to not to exceed the upper limit of inspection window. I have ended up with a busted transmission out shaft oil seal due to overfill - replaced recently (DIY).

My suggestion - do not use M seal. You never know when the seal might break and come apart.

Source - an oversmart pal of mine did the same thing to his pulsar 180 and totally wrecked the engine because the M seal did not dry up and he kept leaking oil until there was no more... The rest is history ! Lol

M-Seal is good, but removing them is a PITA, they lump up and removing them is a different story. For now, I'd suggest red silicone gasket sealant apply around the oil casing and the oil filter cover, let it set for day and then ride. The mechanic must be nuts to to say use M-SEAL. Use Anabond red silicone gasket maker/sealant.
