    Hi Guys

Hope all are doing good.I had a AS200 pulsar and i am selling it,not becasue i want more power but because it had given me so much trouble in life, problems that can never be sloved on planet earth!
I shortlisted D200,Mojo,CBR250R but i am looking for reliability as i dont want any niggles or issues and dont want to go to SVC every weekend. Can you please suggest me which one shall i go for and any reason if possible.I TD duke and liked it .Also liked the 250R but its comfort is excellent.
I am 28,6 feet and 89 Kgs.I shift gears t around 4.5 - 5 rpm and generally a sane rider.Hardly redline.I will msotly(95%) time drive in Bangalore city and 200 kms may be highway drive once a month.

Is the Himalayan an option bro ? I am seriously smitten by the Motorrad kinda looks.. Sounds powerful too.. 40 NM of torque with ~25 bhp power seems inviting. Just hoping it has an equally inviting power to weight ratio and a good AS support.

Hi, I would suggest CBR if you ride it 50% in City and 50% in Highway but as you mentioned that your major usage will be in Bangalore city it is little tough. Though you will get used to riding position even in city over a period of time but still trust me sometimes you can feel the heaviness of bike in Bangalore B2B traffic.

Other two bikes are naked so obviously it will be a relaxed ride in city but need to get compromised for windblast in Highway. I can't comment more about these bike since I don't own.

Now coming to reliability I can say CBR is better than other two bikes. You can get excellent service experience in Tansi Honda, Varthur road. My bike clocked 37000 kms and it is 2012 model with C-ABS. At 25000kms, engine head was replaced under warranty due to issue in valve guide but it was happened after my Saddlesore ride. Apart from these, there is no any major issue which I have faced.

If you decided to buy CBR, I would strongly recommend ABS model and get 5 years warranty. Happy riding!

You're welcome. It is approximately 2-3k bucks for extended warranty and not sure about how much it is now, new owners here can confirm on this.

It gives 30kmpl overall for me and in highway if you maintain less than 6500rpm it will give crazy mileage around 37kmpl!

Xplodd, the CBR is quite boring, but it will do whatever you ask. Make sure you have a good service centre close by. This bike will never overheat, and if you don't redline it, it will give you many years of riding pleasure. You can get 42+ mileage too, if you stick to 75 - 80kmph on the highway. Since Honda does not seem to have the 300r close to launch, you can be sure the CBR will be around for another couple of years.

Ohk.the SVC I have near my place is the domlur one.don't know if its good.but are there frequent niggles on the bike .I don't want to visit SVC that often.the only reason why I am opting for dukenis coz its 2016 and they say its a very refined one.
When you mention boring what does it exactly mean .and generally in city o drive at speeds of 60-70.what mileage can I expect ?I shift gears at 5000 rpm

Hello guys.....recently got my machine serviced. It was 2nd free service on 3500 km. And my SVC used one engine flusher of Bardahal brand, also one Fi cleaner and old supplement of the same brand. They put DTSi engine oil, changed the oil filter, put a little coolant, cleaned the chain and oil spray on it. That's it......I am not sure whether the brand Bardahal is good for our machine or not. Apart from above, coolant is leaking like hell after the service....flaring is making noise on bumps from right side. They brought engine oil in some pathetic can, no-one knows which brand was that...I am sharing some pics. The servicing g guy was just a kid. I do not know how much experience he had. In all, I am not very happy with bajaj.
My machine is ok but I am facing a problem now a days. It stops when I keep clutch pressed in traffic and sometimes it stops. Its happens very often. I think it is due to the mis coordination of clutch and Fi system. Guys please throw some light on this.

You definitely don't need to visit SVC often.

                          Duke vs cbr 250r
                          1. More Heat - less heat in city
                          2. Easy to cut through traffic - easy but takes time to get used to to it
                          3. No pillion seat - comfortable pillion seat
                          4. Worst seat - best seat
                          5. More power to weight ratio, fun riding - less power to weight, not that much fun, but excels in long rides.
                          6. 30kmpl highway 11ltrs fuel tank - 36+ kmpl Highway 13ltrs fuel tank.

If you want fun choose duke and if course it's got it niggles, no idea abt the 2016 model though.

CBR 250r suits mature riding style.

P.S: CBR 300R might get launched in April by new financial year. My Honda sources say 250r production stopped.
                          Ride Safe!

                          Cheers,
                          Maneesh S

Duke is fun in the city. However its so light and small, I don't get the sports bike feeling on it. If your usage is primarily highway, then CBR makes sense. Else go for the duke.

About mileage in city, I have not been able to get more than 33 kmpl. In the highway, if you give minimal throttle, and change gears at 4.5k rpm, you can get above 42 kmpl easily.

I've seen big guys riding dukes and they dwarf the bike so much it reminds me of those little circus bikes.

If u want big bike feel go for DUKE/RC 390. It'll give u the big bike feel. Mileage is around 27-28 easily.
Also, one thing to consider IMO about the KTMs which sets them apart from the rest are the Austrian design cues and the use of different materials for their bikes. Radical designs, Nikasil coated pistons which give longevity to the engine life and performance, fibre body, ABS, Slipper clutch, Best console, Ride by wire (Will come in next iteration), etc. Many ppl love them.[emoji4] [emoji16]

Yes, a lot of people love the duke design. I just feel its too small, and im 5'6" .[emoji1]

Perhaps if the headlight had a better design, the fuel tank made of metal, and more muscular/larger, I would get one.

Are there any technical reasons why the fuel tank cannot be made larger by the manufacturer? Even the CBR has only 13 litres. It should have been 20 litres, the design of the bike is good enough to mask a 20L fuel tank.
