Thats only partially true. Even if you are riding sedately and you are spending most of the time in B2B traffic oil will loose its viscosity soon when compared to keeping the bike at high rpms near redline.

In my recent endurance ride of 906 kms the shell oil was already 3300 kms old but then too I took the risk of not changing the oil before the journey. When the journey started I was doing 115-120kmph all day and at some instance I was even doing speeds near 8.5K rpm as well on certain stretches of NH4. The shell oil did not show any signs of fatigue when I got home after the big ride the oil was 4200 km old and I kept the oil running for another 800kms.

Fully synth oil are designed specially for high revving engines and dont worry any fully synth.oil will last near or north of 3500kms as the.operating temp in LC motorcycle will always be stable.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

As far as the entire ownership thread goes I have not seen any clutch plate replacement. I could be wrong here but by a very small margin.

The clutch plates won't die until you purposely want to fry them with improper maintenance.

No offense meant, because CBR's clutch is a very robust system. Very thin chance of it getting fried on its own.

        Cheers,

Mine is up for a second change. I have clicked 65k. The first one was changed around 24k cuz the drop of pick up was noticed. After change it was good. Now again no pick up across the Rev range and the clutch bell noise also started. It would cost around 3500 if I'm not wrong. I'll confirm the costs after changing.

My last fast ride was around 400 kms, where I kept the rpm above 7k always, and speeds above 120 kmph throughout. I never redline the engine, ever, just change gears at 10k rpm. The temp gauge never went above 3 bars, but I smelled a burning odor near the engine. I am using 15w40 Castrol power. I had no loss of pickup or engine shutdown, just the burning smell, so I took a break. The question is : what could have given that smell if the temp reading is three bars always?

I have contacted a local fabricator, he said that cost would be around 1.5 to 2k(I know, its little on the higher side) with powder coating and stuffs, but he needs the bike to be available during the fabrication which is like half day, but I cant afford that time currently .

There was no issue regarding dimension. It was more of a copy paste job.

Regarding honda paddock stand, I went to the Svc and asked the manager to provide me with the paddock for few hours so that I can create mine from the fabricator and being a regular and trusted customer at the svc he happily agreed that I can take the paddock with me and he did not create any fuss on the time, I kept the stand with me for whole day.

Would suggest the GA Engineering paddock stand. It's available for about Rs 2400 and they even ship it. No need for guesswork when you get a good paddock stand ready made. Please do a search on FB for their contact details.

So my 54k seems like a decent interval. I felt loss of power after 6k rpm. The honda mechanic confirmed this. Will leave my bike tomorrow for clutch replacement. Will post the bill in the evening.

Just got my clutch plates replaced. Total bill was about 3500. This includes oil and filter as well.

The mechanic showed me some metal shavings which were found in the oil and oil filter. Me and him both were also surprised because the metal was looking like brass(not aluminium, not steel). I am clueless about what that was. I have always used honda's engine oil except the last couple of times, when i used shell semi synth and shell advance ultra.
