Guys I have doubt, is anyone on here toured on their CBR with a aftermarket exhaust? Not too loud but not too quiet, I know the stock exhaust is tried and tested, but am curious, had a friend who toured on arrow exhaust, he monitored no problems, I am curious to know has anyone else use any other exhaust, and your experience of it and anyother extra mods?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Affordable is all I know; I've 2 spares with me bought atleast couple of years ago; IMHO, use a long 3/4 inch pipe & you can straighten the clutch lever, atleast that's what I did with my existing clutch lever. Only an existing owner can find out that my clutch lever is straightened one.Originally posted by hgps View PostWhat is the price of OEM silver clutch lever and left bar end weight (black)?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I won't mention any short term issues to the bike per say with an aftermarket exhaust, but the drone from such an exhaust would tire out the rider over long distances. Already wind noise is a big deterrent, one is only adding to his woes with a louder can.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys I have doubt, is anyone on here toured on their CBR with a aftermarket exhaust? Re: Honda CBR 250R
I get what you saying, but I'm planning to make a custom exhaust which has good power but noise level is kept at low level, atm I'm using a loud pipe exhaust, again custom made , its not ideal to use for rides beyond 200km, also someone earlier was saying cops will stop me, the funniest part is a cop stopped me and he wanted a ride to the next signal and I kept my revs below 4k , he just thank you and went on xD. I am using a loud pipe, but I have not noticed any issues with coppers at all... Mostly maybe cause I ride sensible. My main thing with a louder exhaust is , most people in traffic are ignorant of oncoming traffic behind em, soo they tend to take a sudden u-turn or lane switch, my exhaust has made a big difference in riding in traffic when compared to the stock one, obviously coming to touring, as u said it would surely tire you out, but my question, is there any sort of chance my engine will overheat or something like that, even if I rev progressively keeping revs at 5000-7000rpm max.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI won't mention any short term issues to the bike per say with an aftermarket exhaust, but the drone from such an exhaust would tire out the rider over long distances. Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have done 21K on the stock contigo and now after few more miles on it, I would like to change the tyres.
I read in this thread that the following MRF tyres are compatible to the stock values
MRF REVz FC 110/70
MRF Zapper S 140/70
Am I correct here ?
MRF users, please shed some lights and the specs and price and especially @aargee as you are running of MRFs.
Which one will be the correct combination
REVZ FC and ZAPPER S
ZAPPER FY and ZAPPER S
Cheers,
SanjayLast edited by sanjaysangar1990; 01-06-2016, 09:37 PM.

Please find my below post done on August 2015 about the price, current price should not wary much from price displayed below.
you can go with any combination you wish. I have given the reason for not opting to the radial at that moment, but I will go with "REVZ FC and ZAPPER S" combination.

At last after 19380 Kms, and 1 Year, 11 Months and 20 odd days, I have got rid of both the Stock ContiGo tyres and given the beast MRF in stock sizes
. The front tyre still have around 2000 Kms of life left, but to be on safer side for this monsoon I have changed both the tyres at once.
Rear - 140/70-17 66S NGP ZRS TL = Rs. 3144+taxes(Rs. 3600)
Front - 110/70-17 54S NGP ZFY TL = Rs. 2183+taxex(Rs. 2500)
Fitment charges - Rs. 100.
Both are cross-ply tyres. Got it changed from JAYEN TYRES(AMBATTUR) CHENNAI.
The front tyre has one more option of choosing Radial tyre with stock size at cost of Rs. 2800(Rs. 300 more). I have not opted this to make both the front and rear tyre to be of same type, and also their stock of Radial tyres was manufactured on Jan 2014 which is more than one and half years old.
When checked with the store manager, he said that they do not know how to calculate the manufacturing date. If they want to know, they will send the reference number of the tyre to the manufacturer to know those details

You have an elementary science paper filter (stock engine) with a small hole at the bottom (OE exhaust). You have a standard tap for pouring in water (OE air filter).
Now you enlarge the hole (custom exhaust). Will you gain any performance (in terms of flow rate)? Meaning, the filter would get empty sooner with the standard tap.
So, in order to maintain the flow rate, you need a bigger tap (after market air filter) too. This way the required equilibrium will be maintained.
But, if you add a bigger tap; then the pressure exerted on the filter (stock engine) will increase to a limit when it eventually gives up and tears off/collapses.
In bike terms, back pressure reduces with a free flow exhaust. In a stock exhaust, back pressure causes a delay in valve actuation in accordance to pre-defined combustion algorithms. A FFE + performance filter causes faster firing due to a richened mixture, disrupting pulse rhythm of gas flow leading to valves burning and eventually the engine dies.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I'm done with Conti, Dunlop, MRF tube & radial & now on to Michelin radial & non radial
If you're opting for MRF RADIAL...
Front - MRF Tyres - Front ZAPPER FY
Rear - MRF Tyres - Rear ZAPPER S
Truth is, I found all 2014 manufactured dates on MRF in Chennai last week & hence opted for Michelin which had 2015 manufactured dateSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

MRF is a gamble then, will give a shot. But if no luck then Contis again, although never had any scary moments with respect to stock conti tyres.
Will it be wise choice to go back to conti again, if MRF are not available with latest dates and Michelin being out of my budget ?
Cheers,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks for the info, but just the exhaust, OK I go for a quality exhaust with db killer and all? Like I'll tune my bike to my exhaust, but preferably leave my filter stock, but someone suggested me change the filter cover, the thing about aftermarket air filters they let In more dirt into ur engine which will screw it up obviously, I want a good sustainable and usable mods which I can bank on.. Obviously not too many, u can ask me to upgrade, but I'm not in that financial side yet, that's all I know the repercussions of over modifying a engine beyond its capacity.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostLet me give a rough analogy.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You won't get anything with just an exhaust change. Maybe some minuscule performance/mileage boost in case the custom exhaust is lighter in weight. Nothing apart from that!Originally posted by Deathwing View PostThanks for the info, but just the exhaust, OK I go for a quality exhaust with db killer and all? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Lighter is better, I'm testing exhausts, I'll always switch back to stock for 300km+ rides. I'm gonna make a custom not too loud exhaust, trying to maybe start a branded custom made exhaust if its sustainable and good,Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYou won't get anything with just an exhaust change. As far as i remember, we dont have radial tyres for both front and back from MRF. Zapper S is a regular tubeless tyre.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostThanks aargee.

For front you have Zapper FY(regular) and RevZ(radial).
Just check with couple of dealers regarding their stocks with recent manufacturing date. I would say MRF will be much bettet than Conti Go and you will not regret the decision.
