Re: Honda CBR 250R
Changed the Chain Sprocket @ 17550 kms yesterday.
Now the second issue is...
My bike turns to right if I leave the handle bars.
SVC is saying that it might be due to Faulty T. They will try to repair the T and put it back and check.
Else need to put a new Coneset & T for 1800 +1200 respectively."Riding By Passion, Wandering By Choice !!" - IceAgeOnWheels

Woah!!! chain sprocket change so early
Did the SVC over tightened the handle.
Do not listen to plain crap of SVC as they will tell anything and everything to fetch money from you.
Is there a "thud" or "khat" noise from the handlebar while hitting a pothole or braking at higher speeds ? if yes then get the conset checked.
while fitting the chain sprocket if the wheel was not properly aligned then also the problem may occur.
T-stem is no way going to go kaput so easily. For the T-stem to go kaput a super heavy impact is required, which I suppose is not present in your case.
By the way T -stem costs around 3000 rs. and conset is around 1200 rs (made in India from SKF) Japanese make (1700rs, very rare to find)
Cheers,
Sanjay

no, bro it does not matter!! If it was made in India then it is low on quality when compared to thai makes.

Remove the fairings and meter console and then refit again with all the clips present. the buzzing noise could be due to missing white clips/grey clips or rubber bushes where they get attached to the fairings.

I don't know, But right from when I had purchased this bike I see that handle bar is slightly bend towards tank and Bike pulls towards right if we leave the handle bar. This is right from start.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostWoah!!! chain sprocket change so early

When I brought this bike it was only 1200kms run & only 5 months old.
I will try to notice the "Kat" sound while gong over pothole today.
I will ask them to change the coneset first.
BTW Coneset Rs 1800 & T Rs 1200 asked the SVC"Riding By Passion, Wandering By Choice !!" - IceAgeOnWheels

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Check your rear tire alignment, since you've replaced your sprocket, uneven tire alignment can cause wobbles and pulling towards a specific direction. Get them centered and see how they fare, now this is considering you've had this issue after sprocket change. If you're experiencing this issue pre-sprocket change, then it might be wise to go as per your SVC suggestion.Originally posted by NightFurry View PostChanged the Chain Sprocket @ 17550 kms yesterday.

But red herring, check your tire condition first, balded or cupped tires too can cause wobbling, so is uneven tire pressure.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
OK guys I had to change my lock set today as after the rains in Chennai my side lock was not able to lock, I have heard the old CBR 250 prior to 2013 lock set was 12000inr, to my luck, my bike is a 2014 model it was 3400 INR, also sometimes I had to keep turning my switch on the ignitions a fair bit. The SVC people were quite curious about my temporary factory exhaust pipe, thinking I was using it for sound, in fact I am testing the exhaust, before I make a bigger less louder and feasible exhaust. Also bikes dome 17000km at 21000 I plan to change my both set of tyres as I have been running on a 140/60 rear mrf zapper tyre, front is stock conti go as my rear conti go punctured multiple times n was annoying n I thought it was a waste to buy a brand new tyre, had a new tyre courtesy my uncle no charge of course. I want to know will the smaller rear tyre affect my handling and rim ,long term. Also I'm gotta Change my chain sprocket as its near it a end of its life. I wasn't very caring at start, only after 12000km I started Lubing my chain every week because of my noobishness. I need suggestions for tyres that can last atleast 30000km, any suggestions?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
250cc and tyre thats lasts 30k ??? if you get 20k out of your tyres. its good life . without compromising safety with mix riding condtions. 140/60 will shorten the gear raito. hence less FE and less top end and maybe more acceleration.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostOK guys I had to change my lock set today as after the rains in Chennai my side lock was not able to lock, I have heard the old CBR 250 prior to 2013 lock set was 12000inr, to my luck, my bike is a 2014 model it was 3400 INR, also sometimes I had to keep turning my switch on the ignitions a fair bit. Re: Honda CBR 250R
30k? You mean 30000kms? You should manufacture one I guess.. The best was close to 20k(I didn't exactly know), that was MRF zapper 140/70(again forgot the pattern) I had on the rear. For your requirements don't choose a radial cuz it won't last more than 12k max. Zapper is the best choice AFAIK with out compromising wet grip but Off roading or mud grip will be zero.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostOK guys I had to change my lock set today as after the rains in Chennai my side lock was not able to lock, I have heard the old CBR 250 prior to 2013 lock set was 12000inr, to my luck, my bike is a 2014 model it was 3400 INR, also sometimes I had to keep turning my switch on the ignitions a fair bit. Re: Honda CBR 250R
To keep it simple, thinner tire width means, lesser road rolling resistance and more life, fatter tires means comparatively wider contact patch and more wear. 30,000 on a wider profile isn't feasible, due to the intrinsic wear pattern itself, you might have worn the center patch too bad whereas the side profile might be good, or you might have cupped the tire, there are lot of factors that come into play.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostOK guys I had to change my lock set today as after the rains in Chennai my side lock was not able to lock, I have heard the old CBR 250 prior to 2013 lock set was 12000inr, to my luck, my bike is a 2014 model it was 3400 INR, also sometimes I had to keep turning my switch on the ignitions a fair bit. You can get the MRF Zapper Series radials for slightly more longevity or you can get the Michelin which is better than MRF albeit at a slightly higher price.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Contigo new batches may be good. I run my Contigos on 35 psi, the company recommended pressure. I have no issues on hard braking or fear of cornering. However, as other members reported, since Contigo is a hard compound tyre, grip is sacrificed for longer life. More grippy tyres like pirelli would last 12k max, iirc. One Contigo user I know changed his front tyre at 28k, and had no issues cornering in ghats with Contigos. His friends call him ji, and corner master, not without reason. The Michelin is a good 5k more than the MRF, but I've heard it really last long, mrf is tried and tested but 0 wet grip.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostTo keep it simple, thinner tire width means, lesser road rolling resistance and more life, fatter tires means comparatively wider contact patch and more wear. 30,000 on a wider profile isn't feasible, due to the intrinsic wear pattern itself, you might have worn the center patch too bad whereas the side profile might be good, or you might have cupped the tire, there are lot of factors that come into play.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Have the conti go have been updated?when I went through forums n ratings, conti go had low ratings, Michelin and mrf have always been suggested, I had a 2014 CBR , and after 8000km my bike punctured a fair bit of times, I didn't wanna waste money and get just a new rear tyre , got a 140/60 for free and I thought I'll use it till I can change front n rear tyres together. And mentioned air to filled is like 29 for the front always, and 32 without pillion and 34 with pillion.Originally posted by leech View PostContigo new batches may be good.
