Re: Honda CBR 250R
After the clutch bell and plate change she is back to form returning a good 40.17kmpl in a 530kms run(some 25kms city run). The speed maintained in Highway is around 100kmph, occasional blips past 110kmph to get past fast cars & volvos. That's the Honda reliability after 67k kms on the odo.
I guess it's time to change my chain tensioner again. The noise is back even with the DIY in place.
The replaced clutch plates are of the pulsar 220's. It's a perfect fit and 60% less than Honda's original. It costed me 1300rs while the original one costs 3300rs. Yet to test top speed but the acceleration seems alright with no drop in pick up. Haven't redlined after clutch plate change.Ride Safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I redline the engine quite frequently to keep it healthy so as a result the clutch plates seems to get burned after some 35k kms and there comes a slight noticeable reduction in pick up, especially very prominent when you overtake a vehicle. So these are my second set of clutch plates, the first ones were changed around 24k.Originally posted by leech View PostNice to know about the clutch plate. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello respected seniors,
I have finalized benelli Tnt25 and Cbr250. I am impressed with both, but my main concern is maintenance and spares cost. Is it possible that someone could share a link of maintaining cost or tell me here.
Thanks in advance

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The CBR is definitely easier on the pocket. Benelli is managed by DSK, who have a good strategy of pricing the spares high, so once you've bought the bike, they can squeeze out a regular income from the owners. Many people who bought a benelli based solely on looks and exhaust note are now complaining about the service costs.Originally posted by chidafn View PostHello respected seniors,

Can the brake fluid be changed without tools, or should I go to the SVC?Last edited by leech; 03-01-2016, 03:00 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Guys.. I have completed 40K on my CBR250. I have been using Honda's throttle 10w30 FS engine oil till now. Oil is good and faced no issue even in extreme cold (north sikkim in Nov end) or extreme hot ( Bihar in May) conditions. But few of my friends are suggesting to go for Shell Advance Ultra 10w40 FS oil. According them, Shell Advance Ultra is way better than Honda's FS oil. The price is almost same for both the oil. Please suggest if I should move to shell.
I appreciate your help.

It's more of a personal preference. Try and see for yourself. I tried all the possible oils and came back to Honda throttle. AFAIK it's the best for a butter smooth engine. The only problem with throttle is it wears out almost close to 6000kms. And I don't mind changing oil at 6k kms.Originally posted by csudipto View PostHi Guys.. I have completed 40K on my CBR250. I have been using Honda's throttle 10w30 FS engine oil till now. Yes, you can change it with the basic tools. You need a tube to drain the fluid without getting it all over the caliper and plate. Do it if you have seen how they do it else better take it to a SVC cuz if there is air bleed then the brake won't be efficient.Originally posted by leech View Post

TNT25 when compared to CBR250R is a naked street and falls on the expensive side when it comes to maintenance. You must shell out almost 30%to40% more than the Honda every 5000kms. And most importantly you cant get the spares like you can get for Honda. Service must be done in SVC only.Originally posted by chidafn View PostHello respected seniors,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR250 with ABS if you want more out of your money and general maintenance and spares will be cheaper compared to Benelli.Originally posted by chidafn View PostHello respected seniors,

if you want to go for Benelli wait for sometime as they are launching ABS version by end of this year.
I hope you took test ride if not pls do so it will give you more clear picture.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
If u are more long ride and touring oriented , id take the CBR hands down, I have been riding my CBR for almost 2 years and 19000km its a joy to ride Stilll bar the exhaust. The TNT 25 on the other hand is kinda unproven, and Honda spares are a lot cheaper for sure! Have u considered the Duke? Since ur in the same naked category, if u looking for more city commuting go for a naked, but I had the options of d200 n CBR in 2014 went for the CBR because the 200 struggled with me past 115kmph, but its low end torque trumps the CBR but the high end power and high speed cruising CBR is winner hands down, i been using my CBR for everything commuting, long rides and its been fantastic.Originally posted by chidafn View PostHello respected seniors,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Honda throttle 10w30 is used for the cbr650f too. If an inline 4 can use it without problems, I think people change it due to personal preference than any actual issue due to the oil.
I had a tough time shifting from first to second gear when I used the Honda throttle oil. Each time it goes to neutral instead. Since I changed to 15w40 castrol power, those false neutrals disappeared.Last edited by leech; 03-02-2016, 05:51 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Of course the grade is higher & heavier so smoother gear shifts. But what about the heat, Top end? Did you notice them? I couldn't bare the heat especially when using other grades.Originally posted by leech View PostHonda throttle 10w30 is used for the cbr650f too. If some one wants a cheaper mineral oil of the same 10w30 grade, Bajaj has one. I have no idea for what bike of their stable they are using it.Ride Safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Top end is low[emoji19]. Couldn't go beyond 145 in one trial. Acceleration from low RPMs also is slightly less. But at least I don't have the fear of getting rammed in traffic due to the false neuts.Originally posted by sman999 View PostOf course the grade is higher & heavier so smoother gear shifts. No extra heat felt.
