Just got to know that some CBR users have used the fz fuel filter in their bikes which are 5 times cheaper than the OEM Honda fuel filter which is made in Thailand. Can anyone who is using the fz filter clarify if there is any oil leak due to that, or its a perfect fit?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It's the oil filter, not fuel filter leech. And yes they are comparatively cheaper as opposed to OEM Honda.Originally posted by leech View PostJust got to know that some CBR users have used the fz fuel filter in their bikes which are 5 times cheaper than the OEM Honda fuel filter which is made in Thailand. The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My simple advice -- do not play with engine vital parts! I have tested permeability and flow-rate on both filters. CBR250R filter has a better permeability and hence faster flow rate than FZ. FZ filter is engineered for a 150CC engine's requirement. Chances are positive it may restrict oil flow and hence insufficient oil supply to vital parts. Rest is up to you.Originally posted by leech View PostJust got to know that some CBR users have used the fz fuel filter in their bikes which are 5 times cheaper than the OEM Honda fuel filter which is made in Thailand. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sorry, meant the oil filter. And street racer, thanks for your input. As it is, I'm running a 15w 40 oil on my bike. Don't want to screw up the oil pressure more. Due to that, my mileage and top speed are reduced. I'm gonna recheck mileage again tonight.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi guys
Can somebody please recommend any good Honda ASC for CBR250R in New Delhi or NCR? My bike has some issues with Crank and I need to get it fixed. I have tried the following ASCs so far:
VD Honda (Mayapuri, Delhi): They couldn't recognize the issue and were totally clueless even after multiple visits
Bhasin Honda (Rama road, Delhi): They were also clueless and the mechanic told that his brother-in-law also has CBR250 and he is still working with him to find the issue as his bike has the same issue :P
Absolute Honda (Mahipalpur, Delhi): Mechanic narrowed down the issue to Cylinder and is adamant on replacing Cylinder kit. On telling him that the issue is not with Cylinder, he is providing vague answers
Globus Honda (Rani Bagh, Delhi): There's only one mechanic named Kaushik who works on CBR. I took my bike to him. After test riding and inspecting, he confirmed that the issue is with Crank but doesn't seem to be interested in working on it. He has been unavailable for quite some time and doesn't seem to be willing to work on this so I don't want to get my bike to that ASC.
To confirm, I checked with my relative who is quite good with engines (for cars and motorcycles) and he confirmed the issue with Crank. I also posted this on CBR250r.net and almost everybody suggested to get the Crank main bearings checked. Here's the link of thread on CBR250 for details: Weird sound from engine (CBR250R) - Honda CBR250R Forum : Honda CBR 250 Forums

Re: Honda CBR 250R
15w 40 should be good during summer? 2 years back I tried it during winter and I felt engine was sluggish & heating a lot.Originally posted by leech View PostSorry, meant the oil filter. Re: Honda CBR 250R
I changed my throttle cable done 7000kms back. Now its become choppy. I mean if I just leave the throttle and give input to pull away the bike kinda jumps. What should be the culprit here?
Dirty throttle body?
Throttle Cable?
Fuel injector?Ride Safe!

All of them are potential culprits.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI changed my throttle cable done 7000kms back. Now its become choppy. I mean if I just leave the throttle and give input to pull away the bike kinda jumps. What should be the culprit here?
Dirty throttle body?
Throttle Cable?
Fuel injector?
Get the TB cleaned.
Inspect throttle cables for worn out strands and replace if needed.
For injectors, you can either get them cleaned in diesel but that's a labor intensive work. Instead, use Iftex System G (available at BP petrol bunks) and use it for 2-3 tank fills. 1 ml per liter.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Dear All,
I see many of us have asked about the front brake pad replacement options available (for NON-ABS version). Would like to list down few points I have comprehended.
1.The make is Bybre
2.Stay away from ASK brake pad (if available)- lower costs but inferior quality
3.One should also consider the ratting of these brakes , read somewhere on the ratting cant find the link though.
4.Did someone say RS200 front brake pads are a direct fit or was that a question.
Rear brake pad
Pulsar 220's pads are a direct fit
Experts here can add/comment further

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My same query, 220 brake pads are only 250rs compared to 800 of Hondas crappy rear pads, I'm also pretty keen to see if rs200 front brake pads are a direct fit? Would save on costs n efficiency should be more atleast wat they said about the rear p220 brake pads.Originally posted by arunrajmail View PostDear All,
