Condition of my air filter with the filter cover off. 6k kms total, out of which 3k is with the cover off.

Should I replace this? Or just dust it off lightly?

Yeah its true fz's oil filter is a direct fit to cbr's and it costs just 50rs. Im using fz OF in my cbr, its been 3.5k kms and until now no sign of any oil leak or anything which isnt caused by OEM Oil filter.

Just went through a review of Shell Advance Ultra Fs user. He is satisfied with the oil, and reports smoother engine and acceleration. Good to know that even Activa 125 users have more love for their bikes than me. 😛

I see many of us have asked about the front brake pad replacement options available (for NON-ABS version). Would like to list down few points I have comprehended.
          1.The make is Bybre
2.Stay away from ASK brake pad (if available)- lower costs but inferior quality
3.One should also consider the ratting of these brakes , read somewhere on the ratting cant find the link though.
4.Did someone say RS200 front brake pads are a direct fit or was that a question.

          Rear brake pad

Pulsar 220's pads are a direct fit

          Experts here can add/comment further

Why do you want an after market brake pad? Are you not satisfied with the front brakes?

Rear pads are direct fit and cheaper. So that's Ohk.

Who said anything abt the oil leak. It's all about the oil permeability in the filter. As someone mentioned earlier it it affect the oil cycle and might end up in scarce for vital engine areas. Beware! I wouldn't try anything such this for a matter of 250rs. It's enough if you change it during every alternate oil change.

I'm scouting for a new oil now, 10w 30. The castrol power1 10w40 gives me 2kmpl less mileage, which will cause me an estimated loss of 600₹ per 6000kms.

Shivs CBR thread states he uses Shell Rimula r4 10w30. I would like to try it.

Does anybody know a good shell station/dealer in chennai?

The shell station at padi stocks only rimula r4 15w40. They don't have any 10w30 oil.

You can check with the retail shop which stocks 4 wheeler spares, they will usually have rimula r4 10w30, as it's a diesel engine oil. I brought from similar shop. Some shop may even charge you less than the MRP .

Hi guys. I need your expertise with something strange that happened with my CBR today. While dragging it around the 3rd gear suddenly something went wrong with the engine/clutch making some weird noise from the engine and the bike went to neutral (without the neutral light). Now the sweet engine sound has changed. I'm glad its not like how a blown engine sounds. Can someone tell me what it could be?

                          Thanks,
                          Nawaz

No it's not under warranty. I checked with two more ASCs in Delhi and both indicated something wrong with engine head and the sound is so loud, nasty and unbearable now. I am not riding much as the issue might just escalate. Did you have any experience with him for engine related work or have you got any feedback on his expertise with CBR's engine?
                            Thanks

Sir, can you point me to the location of that dealer? I'm not familiar with engine oil dealers, as the CBR is my first bike. Tia.
