  • One month of ownership

    Hi friends,

My bike is now 30 days old the odo reads 2260 Km

Did a 1015 KM trip (Tuticorin-Valparai-Athirappally-Allepey-Tenkasi-Tuticorin) ) for 5 days after first service.. The bike was awesome! It was raining for the whole day in valparai to allepey stretch. Although i was riding in 80 KMPH, the bike was in full control. No issues. Fuel efficiency for the whole trip was around 34 KMPL. The wind was heavy in highway. So couldn't go above 140 KMPH. Anyway i felt like i can ride @ 120 all day.

Did first service @ 1050 KM in tirunelveli. They charged 750 for engine oil is that normal ? anyway i dont have good ASC near my place. so have to rely on them. No problems with the service. They seemed to have some knowledge on CBR250. As soon as the service person saw the bike he made a call and enquired whether oil filer and engine oil is available (atleast they know they should change the oil filter). But they took 2 days (guess my CBR is serviced with lots of activa). Now i hear some small vibrations at 5k rpm. Have to do a little research to find the source of the sound. will post back about it.

Overall One month of happy ownership experience.

You can check few pictures on facebook album.

Welcome to the club . And the charge of engine oil is normal.1litre of oil costs you 500 to 520 i guess . And baby cbr uses 1.5litres of it.
      I respect the threat.

      • Have left my bike at heritage HONDA Mysore. There was some peculiar sounds like metal taping sound coming from engine, guessed it to be worn out shim. But the head mechanic said cam chain tensioned needs adjustments after he listened to the sound for a while. Hoping for the best. Bike had run around 5000 odd kms.

          • Guys, I want to get the tyre replaced. The continentals are completely worn out. Any suggestions? I was thinking of the Pirelli Sport demon 140/70-17, but they are currently out of stock here.

Having waited for almost 15days today I lost my patience and took my ceeber out for a high speed spin. I warmed her up nicely for about ten minutes, afterwards it was a run of about 20 min almost always keeping speed between 110-130, no problem at all. Roll in accelerations were fine as well as speed rpm combination too.
The most interesting part is when I had started her in the morning that mechanical sound was there but after the ride of about 30 min when I stopped and was waiting for a minute in idle before switching off there was absolutely normal engine sound. Somehow after todays run I feel its a problem of worn out shim only. As it happens only in cold engine and a particular state, i.e. when rpm its winding down after giving a raise to rpm, to say about 7 or 8 K rpm.
Thinking of taking her to the workshop and tell them to open her and measure the valve clearances in front of me, as last time during my third service they told clearance was ok, though I felt they didn't even open the head , as there was no finger mark or nothing on the silencer header pipe or parts close by......( I don't get my Ceeber washed at the SVC ever)

                    Experts any other observation?
Actually getting impatient setting her standing in the garage.......

Guys will write my review of Pressana Honda, Coimbatore tonight, sorry for being a lazy bum....

Made this extension for my fender, now for astethics i could get it painted or as suggested by aargee buy a front fender and use the end portion for extension. Made this using a broken fender from the ASC.
