Re: Honda CBR 250R
The branded pilot lamps are of 6000k temp rating which will be pure white. The xtreme vision if I'm not wrong are 3700k which is pale yellow. So there is nothing matching the color temp. So I left it as stock as it looks better.Originally posted by Harisankar View PostRide Safe!

Anything above 4000K temp seems getting scattered up on other sources (from my exp). 3700k seems idealOriginally posted by sman999 View PostThe branded pilot lamps are of 6000k temp rating which will be pure white. I agree with that. I do quite a lotta night rides.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostAnything above 4000K temp seems getting scattered up on other sources (from my exp). 3700k seems ideal
When u put on white LED pilot lamps it might consume less power which is a marginal advantage. It is very bright that the edges of the head lamp is not visible and spoils the layout. (may be it's a eye sore just for me). Also it's a bit irritating to the on comers during night.
While lights are definitely bright and bright at pitch dark places. But it doesn't blend under street lights or oncoming traffics's normal yellow halogens. So you would be almost blinded from my experience. So I'm just happy with the halogens around 4000k temp rating. The best among them is the xtreme vision plus +130%. It literally makes so much difference from OEM bulb. The dim doesn't blind out the on comers but the bright does. Many lorries nd cars they dim thier lights if u run in bright which makes a difference in highways.Ride Safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Actually i have 8/18W led projector with 2200-2400 lumens. Didn't know before buying, my bad [emoji20]. The color temp is ~4700 Kelvin. Though it's better than 60w stock Halogen in brightness, but the color kind of saturates and i feel like scattering on other sources esp with that yellow/golden light. On pitch dark it looks brilliant and when small stones/pins are visible unlike halogen.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI agree with that. I do quite a lotta night rides.

The only advantage is that i can light that headlamp without engine running for hours..... Maybe useful for night camping [emoji12]
Regarding the glare, general i feel white light itself is not good for opposite riders.. No matter how the beam is positioned...
Next time i have to be very very careful in buying these HIDLast edited by jbm_guy; 11-10-2015, 08:39 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
jbm_guy HID's are best for off roading and camping. They are not just the thing for city and Highway. If u want brighter lights than the halogens opt for auxiliary led lamps. That should do the trick for off roading and camping.Ride Safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
While Halogen suits more of city needs, HIDs with angel eyes or demon's eye have become popular, no wonder it might become mandatory soon. I too bought for riding at nights on country side roads. But now because of these LED lights and color, the throw is having a less range and beam gets scattered or saturated beyond say 12-15 feet. And for auxiliary lamps, the wiring seems to be the constraint. Considered to fix some, but considering the exposure of wiring ignored that (though I don't do off track rides or so).

I didn't contact Amazon seller. why I asked that question about pilot lamp because,
I found almost compatible pilot lights from Philips . Philips extreme vision 360LED W5W T10 4000K from www.powerbulbs.com. Its wattage rating is 1W. But pair costs 1600 bucks( 16 pounds). Link below
Power Bulbs specialise in bringing you only the best, original equipment quality car headlight bulbs and other car lights from leading manufacturers including Philips and OSRAM.
But at the same time, www.powerbulbs.com offers pair of OSRAM W5W LED free on a purchase on or above 15pounds. So If I buy a pair of extreme vision plus headlight for 24.5 pounds(one for my friend), I get those OSRAM led free of cost. but these LEDs are of 5W. but i dono the temperature or lumen rating fo this LEDS. So cant say it will match with headlight colour

So if the stock pilot bulb on cbr is 5W, OSRAM LED will be direct fit I believe.Last edited by Harisankar; 11-10-2015, 02:15 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello all First of all thanks for maintaining this thread it helped in making my mind to go for CBR 250 R. I got my bike delivered yesterday. Its pretty normal ride since ASC guy told me not to rev the engin too hard till first service.
Few questions.
Can I remove the rear view mirrors, I guess its not violating any traffic rules.
what king of helmet lock is good for cbr 250.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
First of all do post a proper aligned pic. And DO NOT remove RVM, removing it won't give you any extra look; rather it might be a killing thing on road. You are going to ride on normal roads that too in Indian ciies, not on any tracks. Do keep it intact for your safety.Originally posted by Anurag Vaishwade View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sorry for unaligned Image. Yaa RVM is a nice security feature but it gets loosened very quickly. So thought of removing it. And for sure I dont want to break any traffic rules so asked about the rule.Originally posted by hypheni View PostFirst of all do post a proper aligned pic. Do you want to remove RVMs only because its loose? or for easy maneuver in traffic?
Are you using helmet only when u see cops?
