yep been using for good 1 year almost. me and sid bought it almost same time and used it or trips together. works perfect.

Yeah, sounds like a good setup, though i am curious to see it from a riders POV angle.

got so many thanks for such a small work. however however however you will get it only by monday. i have shipped it today evening as i was held up yesterday.
and sunday's most couriers arent working..

so wednesday eve or thrusday morning it is for you.

I already have decently new PSDs at the rear so can't go for rear radials anytime soon.
Thank you sir for confirming the issue. Do SVCs agree to do that? The mechanic at the SVC I went to said that this issue cannot be fixed and I should just ignore it. I'll try going elsewhere.

If I may bother someone for one last issue I need to get fixed on the bike. Has anyone ever gotten the fuel sensor/fuel floater fixed? My bike shows a constant 4 bars when around 4 litres of fuel or so is present. Funny thing is when tanked up it drop to 2 bars. The mechanic at the SVC tried some stuff under the fuel tank which I didn't understand but that didn't work. He then said any issue with the floater is not possible to be fixed and the whole thing would have to be replaced which costs 13000 !!!

Thanks again!

13k for fuel sensor ? you sure he is not smoking pot or snorting coke ???
try a diffrent SVC man. if the fuel sensor is acting as such i believe setting or changes is really not possible
the only thing i can see is a replacement but 13k cannot be true.
aargee sir please input. fuel level sensor for 13k ? sounds legit ?? anything else can be tried ?

sirjee...all I know CPR has got...
Sensor for speed at crankcase
Sensor set at throttle body
Sensor for oxygen & water temp at cylinder head
Sensor for front wheel speed (ABS only)
Sensor for rear wheel speed (ABS only)

I don't know what that guy means by Fuel Sensor; the only thing I've been replacing so far related to tank is fuel filter, may be 3-4 times until now which I don't think along with the ENTIRE service hasn't exceeded 9K excluding engine oil. Is it the fuel pump being replaced? 13K even then?? I agree with you...shouldn't cost this high.

Thanks bhai,

I drained the complete oil and now I have removed the excess oil and while filling I was continously monitoring the window. Filled her above min mark and then cranked it and let her idle for sometime, stopped it..checked the oil level and then after few minutes poured in a bit more oil so that the oil level comes near max mark and then cranked the engine again and let her idle again and checked for oil leaks and then stopped and then monitored the oil window. ALL is well now. Thanks all.

Now the guy talking about fuel sensor, I can relate it to fuel gauge which is used for fuel level indication. It costs 2100 rs. Mine was changed under warranty. Hence I know this!!

Other thing about 13k, I can say it is for the fuel pump assembly which does not include the fuel guage. So the entire cost of fuel pump along with fuel gauge will cost around 16K.

Cheers,
Sanjay

The fuel level sensor in CBR250R is just like in any other bike....A float which varies in height with respect to the level of Fuel in Tank...Only thing is in CBR 250R it is part of the Fuel Pump assembly. The water content(Vapour) affects the sensor, since the sensor is nothing but a Ni chrome wire wound on a insulator and the float is attached to a center tap connector which varies resistance as per float position. Try using System G at 1ml per Liter of petrol for a full tank or try 1ml of Castrol 2T per liter of Petrol to see if the corrosion is negated....All bikes having this system will suffer this kind of malfunction some time or other, so it is better to know the Bike's FE and fill petrol depending on your average...
Here is a picture of the Fuel Pump along with the Float mechanism which works as the Petrol level Sensor....

Thank you all for replying to my queries!
Now to head out and try each of these fixes. Fingers crossed!
I guess I'll give a go at the System-G to see if that can help. If that doesn't work I'll try to get the fuel gauge at a different SVC.
Story of my life : SVCs near my place are always terrible.

Posting a few pics of the unit, as soon as i get the stem nuts in my hands will do a swap and then do the mount install myself. Will update with the details here.

It holds our current day big smartphones easily and the grip is pretty solid. Pone in the pic is the one plus two.

My only problem with mounts I'm afraid somebody will grab them in traffic I once saw a guy stealing from a car near a traffic signal and he then just took off.

Well, it is Bangalore traffic. I hardly suspect anybody can just take off like that. But i do acknowledge the risk, but just cant sit and worry about all that. Lets see, maybe it wont be used daily. Since i haven't installed it yet, will do a trial run and check how safe it feels. Hopefully i won't lose my phone

Probably I will goto one of the trusted Honda SVC on next Monday. I can ask the price and I believe the manager is decent enough to give the proper quote.

Let me know if I can put some light on the fuel sensor pricing.

Saar!!!!! The part number is 37800KYJ901 and it costs 2058 to be exact and it is not fuel sensor for god's sake. It is fuel gauge

As a matter of he's right, partly. Here's why. It's a sensor, call it a float level switch/sensor. A gauge is something that has something visible readings with needles or bars (electronic) to let the user know of what's a max and minimum. Technically there is nothing wrong in calling it a sensor. You call a temp gauge (on your dash) a gauge not temperature sensor, your temperature sensor is near the cylinder.

Let's give everyone a chance to learn.

And the part number you mentioned is a Fuel Unit according to the manual, not even sensor or fuel gauge.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

ask them to open and check if the float is stuck or what exactly is happening.
