Both photos were taken at 4:15 AM on a road with no street lights. The change is welcome, but it does lose out against the orange glow of those street lights.
1)Are you using Philips LEDs for pilot lamps? if yes, which model is that?

2)Is this headlight really bad while riding in sodium vapour light?

      • Re: Honda CBR 250R

        1) Nope, using stock Honda pilot lamps
        2) If you observe any headlight, with any temperature, it will lose out some throw w.r.t sodium vapour lights. This is much better than stock, and is equivalent to a car's headlight.

It's Philip extreme vision +130%. Yep, svc guys fit it for me! A single pack comes to 1100 and a dual comes around 2000. Courtesy powerbulbs.com

I checked the online availability here and i got following one from Amazon.in.

              Philips 12342XVPB1 H4 12V 60/55W X-treme Vision Plus Car Headlight Bulb: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

It says Rs.780 and it is in a pink colour package compare to the green colour package I found in powerbulbs.com(site u mentioned). what do you feel? Is that not a genuine product?

Well, to be honest, I had a lot of doubts as well, but then figured out that there are a lot of duplicates in the local market. If yu calculate, it's cheaper at powerbulbs with yur discount, plus yur sure to get a genuine product. So it depends on you I guess! This was the first time I ordered from the site and am pretty satisfied with their service. 😊

I'm about to buy one whitish and more illuminated bulb than the stock one. So in your opinion at what percentage your lighting has been improved after swithing to philips extreme vision?

My bike is under 10k kms old and SVC guys told me that its rear shock absorber is about to die soon. symptoms identified are rear seat getting bumps even in small potholes. probable reason told by them was bike being stationary for long time (4000 kms in 4 yrs)
Is it really time to change the suspension?

mine busted at close to 30k including a ladakh trip however the moment it died was riding 2 up 160kg and hitting a big pothole at 85kpmh... the rear oil seal just blew.. so 100% my fault..

there are multple options in Philips (crystal , diamond , extreme ) extreme being the brightest of all.
i personally used OSRAM Night Breakeers for good 2+ years and i found those very good before moving up the ladder.

philips Extreme vision else OSRAM NB either will be better than stock however keep the stock bulb safe ever you need it again its gonna be 730 bucks..

Lighting's improved 100% compared to the stock bulb. I still have my stock bulb tucked away safely, just in case! FYI, the more bluish the light becomes, the lesser throw you'll have. The philips bulb is almost white, but still yellow in hue. Tested it out on the highway, and am very pleased. Money well spent there. When i switched on the high beam, those annoying oncoming traffic dipped theirs to low, so it serves the purpose!

Yes will defintely keep the stock safely. So Philips extreme vision would be the choice of mine. Though I hardly ride in foggy conditions, just out of my curisity, how these whitish bulb surves on foggy and rainy seasons?

And does these Philips comes with a warranty period, if yes where to go in case of a warranty claim?

I'm planning to buy it from well known local vendors. At Calcutta we do have a place called Wellington which is quite popular for motorcycle accessories shop.

I havent checked it out in fog yet, but it holds ground in rainy conditions. I'm heading over to Kolli Hills on Saturday, and i'm pretty sure i'll encounter fog, will update the thread then.

BTW, I have not experienced Osram's NB yet, so i really cant comment on how it compares.

Dude, just make sure when you install the bulb, that you don't get your fingers on the glass. Because, the oil in our fingerprints will stick to the glass, and will result in abnormal heating on those parts alone, thereby reducing life of the bulb. A bulb's structure is perfect only when the glass outer casing is heated evenly.

Sir! Everyone keeps saying it is better to leave it as it is in case something happens and the ECU goes kaput . So the 2 mechanics I've gone to have never done more than pull out the tank and check the connections at the bottom which quite obviously are intact since there is a varying level on the gauge.

So I just remembered this just when I topped up the tank yesterday. Whenever the tank is more than half full there is a rattling sound from inside the tank when moving. Is this normal or does this mean the floater is broken and just hitting around inside the tank?

Oh and I've started up on the system G routine. If not fix anything, it will at least do a little bit of a clean up.
