Hey guys got another problem

So day before yesterday i was washing up the bike and noticed that the paint on the right-side of the tank was little uneven, after a closer look it seemd like it was the thinner which was coming out in small circle types texture ( the place where your thigh and knee touches). So yesterday i went to the svc and and theyre saying we cant fix this as my bike is 2years 7months old and the warranty for paint is 2 years But i have 5 years extended warranty and theyre saying it works only for engine parts not for paint issues.

I dont think this is true, warranty should apply on everything .. correct me if im wrong.

Please Tell me what to do now !?

I'm not judging you, all I'm asking you is, just go & read the warranty/extended warranty or atleast the owner's manual once & you'll know see the gap between expectation & reality is less!!

First service done at 750 kms on ODO. Oil and oil filter changed. Been riding it only within city (to office daily and nearby). Going to Blore this Dusshera weekend. Have a comprehensive list of riding gears to get. Planning to visit TBG, Dainese and Orion motors and get good protective gears. Have to start riding with one day trips, then weekend trips and then big trips gradually :-)

BTW, my bike occasionally shuts down when in 2nd or 3rd gears at speeds between 25-40 kmph while trying to up shift or downshift. Now the bike is not lugging or grunting but shuts down suddenly. Mentioned it to service advisor and he told me they fixed it and I have to report back if it still persists. Has anybody faced this issue?

Also Didar Honda Egmore has a separate space for CBR. Bike was serviced in 3 hours today. Paid Rs 1497 for Oil and Oil Filter change.
aargee: Sir, any idea about good service technicians in Didar Honda currently for reporting specific issues or problems?

I find it difficult to get to neutral from first. It goes to second almost all time. Never faced this in Honda Stunner which I used to ride previously. Mentioned this during servicing today. Lets see how it is now on.

I forgot to ask about the recent recall of bikes manufactured up till June,2015. Mine is a May,2015 manufactured bike and so I will give them a call on Monday about the recall and get more details.

Been screaming for last 3 years...
JSP Honda, Aminjikarai - Rajesh
Didar Motors - Rajasekar

Except the above, all of them does a careless job; had a near terrifying experience & had to threaten Manasarovar guys to get my work done; read few nonsense stories about Kun Honda. If you've 650, SVM in Chennai as no one else has undergone training.

Im planning on buying a cbr.. Have few doubts

Is it still a good option to buy an cbr..
Or should i go ahead with d390 v2

I m currently riding a p200 ns done 89 k on it.. And seriously need a new ride.

So my main question is can the cbr last 5 years with dedicated riding??

And any suggestions would be good..

Hello All, regarding my previous post of buying a used CBR250r, i have shorted out 4 CBRs detailed as below. i need your quick response as i am going to finalize the deal by end of the day today but still can't decide for which one should i go.

1) A Red-Silver CBR (STANDARD)
2012 model, 17,000 kms done, haven't seen this bike in person but by photos, tyres will be needed to change, all papers clear-Asking price:85,000 INR

2) A Red-Silver CBR (STANDARD)
December 2011 model. 6,500 kms done, personally seen and ridden the bike, scratchless bike except a single scratch on silencer guard because of fall while standing, everything else is good, all papers clear-Asking Price:1,00,000 INR

3) A Black CBR (STANDARD)
2012 model, 6,700 kms done, personally inspected and ridden, only chain and sprockets are rusted from out side, everything else is in good condition including tyres, completely scratchless, good service history, he doesn't have original RC yet, but i think can manage to get it by appointing agent, on one of the insurance papers and on some other papers (don't remember the name of those papers) there is mentioned ABS model but it is non ABS model-Asking price:1,10,000 INR

4) A Red-Silver CBR (ABS)
November 2011 model, 20,000kms done. personally inspected and ridden only for some meters in his flat premises, bike is scratchless but it has some scratches on silencer guard but no where else like on handle bar or fairing so there are no marks of bike crash, owner told it happened in during parking the bike at home and office. front tyre is contiGo which is completely bald and have to replace it. Rear tyre is i think like some button tyre, dont remember the brand, but if I am replacing the front, will definately replace the whole set, i am thinking of going with Michalin (other suggestions are welcomed). chain and everything is in good condition,, there is some color pilled off on handlebar clip-ons and a bit rusting due to aging, some fins on radiator guard is bent, RVM screws are badly rusted, as per the owner he has done one service 2 weeks ago, everything else is good/ok. all documentation is clear, insurance expiring in this month end.-Asking Price:1,00,000 but ready to give the bike for 97,000 INR

NOW, i am not able to make up my mind for which bike to go, I will have to complete all documentation process and bike maintenance in max 2 weeks as i have a ride planned to gujarat, my home, in diwali. At present i am riding Apache 180 ABS model and know and appriciate the importance of ABS, had many close encounters on road and was saved by ABS. By this msg, i just wanted to know your views, yes I am short of money but can manage upto 1 Lakh and don't want to compromise for some bucks for which i regrate in future as this will be my long term bike. I have been following @shv18's thread regarding his used cbr and its journey so far and have red all pages but still wanted to confirm and get views of other riders just for my peace of mind.

Please try to reply ASAP as I have to finalize the deal by today itself. Also if anyone can guide me in the process of bike transfer and cost for the same, both if done individually and hiring an agent, it will be very helpful for me to plan my finances.

Thank You n advance.

ishan2290, the bike with ABS seems a good deal since you mentioned you would like to have ABS. I will mention this specifically that few owners wished that they should have brought the ABS against the standard.

The pricing is also nice. Just look out for how the bike has been maintained in the previous 20k journey. If all mechanicals are ok then go ahead with ABS one

Cheers,
Sanjay

Deepak vishnu, check out aargee's log. He has done around 90k on his cbr, in a wide variety of riding conditions. My personal opinion is that you buy a bike which u can service easily and by trusted mechanics. Many cbr owners have niggling issues with their vehicles which couldn't get resolved due to incompetent service centers.

Hi All,

By bike has done 20k kms so far, and recently had my 4th service. No complaints, just regular maintenance. Only yesterday I have noticed that the clutch wire has some strands cut.

My question is how difficult is to change the clutch cable by ourself. Is it a straight forward one? Any work to be done apart from removing the faring.

If your home is in Gujarat, you can easily get a non ABS CBR for 65K to 1 Lakh and an ABS model from 70K onwards there.
