My brakes just failed. When I pulled in the lever, it came all the way to the throttle. Then I tried pumping. Working to some extent. What could be the reason? The bike had done some 60 kms. Can it be overheating? After pumping , it sort of worked, but still in doubt!!!

Please visit the ASC next time, there HAS to be a CBR service bay where in there's an inverted U shaped lifter consisting of chain which is used to lift the bike. Cheaper alternatives include lifting the bike physically by 2 people & mounting the underneath of exhaust over a small mount/stool.

If its STD...that's how the damn thing behaves. Thanks to the stupidity of HMSI to have used BYBRE; right from the damn master cylinder design to the caliper to the piston, everything is designed to kill the rider!! If its NISSIN, I'm shocked. Pls keep us posted.

        No. Mines an abs one.

On the return journey I rode very slow. But brakes were fine. Have to discuss with the mechanic. .

It could be anything from a master cylinder seal failure to air in the brake circuit.

          1) Check and replace the master cylinder kit if necessary - this is to be done only if the following steps don't work.
          2) Check for air in the brake lines as well as the condition of the brake fluid. How long has it been since you drained and filled in fresh DOT4?
2a) If you did fill in fresh DOT4, did you ensure proper bleeding was done?
          3) Check if the nuts under/behind the headlight for the delay valve are tightened (it is possible for a leakage to happen from there).

Bleed and then fill brakes with DOT4 according to proper procedure, it's a fairly simple job and if the lever still depresses, it means the master cylinder might have gone bad.

Anybody noticed Honda 2 wheelers India's website has been updated ( Honda | Honda ) and I caught something from it. The old colors of the CBR 250R are listed back. Must be an error. Cynos grey is not the one in the picture.

either there is too much ir in the line else the master cylinder inside which a piston runs to push the fluid is failing... generally the seal inside fails. so the cylinder moves but the fluid is not pushed.

The slightly better method, but personally not tested, method is to opt for a piggy back ECM from Power Commander.
Na na, this does no harm. Snorkel sits outside the air filter compartment. I am not touching the filter element at all. No dust goes in.

In a CBR ABS model with only 60 Kms on odo, this is almost impossible to happen. Check the BRAKE OIL LEVEL. if it is above half of window, then check for debris caught between the Front brake caliper Pistons and Pads....Attach a hose to home tap and direct the water on to the disk pads , and clean out any caked grime/ slush on it. Ride immediately and see if it had solved the problem...if not take it to SVC and get the problem attended to immediately.

Check the disc oil level, and check for leaks near the disc.

Quite risky as the engine & weight is more inclined towards front; MAY BE, try jacking right down at the exhaust underneath the engine; little risky though.

Thank you, it took < half hour & I'm sure it will take <15 min if all the accessories are kept handy, trust me
Probably because its a 6219 (precise) Km new chain, changed on 27-Feb including the sprocket assembly; it was lubed once after 3132 Km usage & after that only now, which is after 3087 Km; the chain started squeaking after 1850 Km & have been riding with chain squeaking for 1237 Km. May be it gets bad after 10000 Km of usage.
                      Hi @aargee,

Attaching the pics on how I raise the rear wheel using both the side stand and the car Jac,

Sorry for the poor quality and blue tint, Taken using my mobile phone camera. Also please excuse the dirt on the bike.

Has anyone noticed quality difference between original parts (which come with bike) and replacement ones under warranty?

My CBR's Headlamp switch has gone bad, HMSI sent replacement assembly to SVC. The quality of replacement part is bad compared to the stock one.

Wondering, if that happens quite often? I raised this issue with HMSI, they assured they are looking into it five months back :-)

What is the problem i can't determine. It's weird. When bike is at run on above 23-24kmph or above i suddenly pulled clutch. Say,my bike is at 30kmph now i pulled the clutch so bike is going to decrease its speed.but when it reach 24-21kmph in this range a weird noise or vibration is coming from front side..i stop the engine and rev it in several rpm range no sound, even if i put the bike on paddock stand and start the engine with gear engaged at that particular speed eange i.e 21-24 no vibration. But if bike is on the road and at that range a weird vibration is coming while bike's speed is decreasing.now i tightened the chain and clean it,lube it.
Can anyone please suggest me solution.
