      Hi guys,
I can hear some 'thud' kind of sound from the fuel tank or beneath it whenever I ride over even a very small pothole at the speed of 10 KM/h. I am not sure what it could be but it's not from the fork but from or beneath the fuel tank and sound is like a piece of metal lying in the tank. Another thing that I have noticed is that it is more audible when the fuel in the tank is 3 bars or more as per fuel meter and reduces once the fuel gets low to 2 bars. Any suggestions? I have tried to look into the tank but the level plate obstructs the view.

      Thanks

A snapshot from ZMR ownership manual explaining the same. It uses the same PGM FI.

How long should a Racer/Cone set last in normal riding conditions? Had last changed at 15K kms. Now its 25.5K, and its gone again.
tge gear shifts have become hard aswell. May be like my RTR's. CBR's used to be extremly smooth and effortless. Any possibilities of Clutchplate issue?

Get the Rynox Nomad. Its costlier than the rest, but has solid build quality and is very spacious. I looked at the range from Cramster and Dirtsack before buying it, but everything touched the exhaust. I've been using the Nomad for the last 1 year and have done over 10k kms with it and it can easily take up luggage for a 15day ride. I've tried multiple ways of tying it and have found the one when its stays a couple of inches above the exhaust.

With a pillion, it won't be that useful because the bag rests on the rear footpegs. I guess most saddle bags would eat up the rear footpeg, so your options in that case may be limited.

I've not yet had to replace cone set. Odo is 33k.

If the clutch life is nearing its end then you should also notice an increase in fuel consumption and drop in pickup.
Are you using Honda branded engine oil from the service centre?

Yes I have always used the stock oil from SVC. Change every 5K or so. May b I should swith to Shell.
What could be the reason of Cone busting so frequently?

Honda oil doesn't last full 5k kms. Starts losing effectiveness after 4k imo. Switch to Shell and see if the roughness is still present.

Don't have much experience with Cone set issues.

Bad roads, jumping over potholes, never re-lubing the cone/ball bearings, over-tightening/under-tightening the handle stem beyond/below prescribed torque specs etc.

They need to be lubed/greased never knew that.

Same here. Never did that. Also, overtightening might be a reason. Always trusted the SVC mech with everything.

When dealing with bad roads, you should always inspect stuff as part of preventive maintenance. For Bangalore roads, I keep 10k kms as a threshold for ball bearings and axle bushes, 20k km for forks etc.

                                Bhai log,

What if we change the silencer of the cbr to the one 220 has, I have a backup silencer

Just want to try this, but have some concerns.

Will it impact anything. Now I cannot afford the yoshis and TBR or etc etc. Hence this option.

I will only change the slipon and not the entire silencer. Because I tried once, but it did not fit.

Anything to take care of before I seperate the slipon from the 220 silencer and any after effects on CBR post silencer change ?

                                Thanks,
                                Sanjay
