Hey I know that guy, did you go to the Hoodi Tansi honda ?

BTW, when teh chain is dirty or loose, it tends to give a scraping/rattling sound on acceleration.

Do have a look if its that, or if the front sprocket is filled with gunk.

    Cheers

He is in Tansi honda showroom at whitefield road now not in Hoodi. I given the bike for chain lube and this issue. They do chain clean and lube for Rs200. He took a test ride after chain lubing and said sound is normal above 5K rpm. I can feel that sound after chain lube too and I think the sound comes from somewhere below the tank or top portion of engine. since he is good with CBR, I concluded its the nature of this bike. Its not an irritating or loud sound but I didn't find it on other bikes while revving..next time, I will ask for the test ride bike to check this .

Yeah, Whitefield road is the same as the Hoodi, Tansi has opened a new svc at Marthahalli bridge also.
The guy is good at his work, but I do not think the sound is normal, I do not have any such problem with such sound, when the chain is loose i have that sound, once that is cleaned and tightened its goes away for me.

Oh, I wasn't aware of Tansi having showroom between Marthahalli and Forum value. Nice to hear that.

And I live at ITPL, near the ParkSquare mall. Sure we can meet someday. Do PM me when you are free. We can work something out.

Yes. Their criteria for model selection for comparisons may not have a solid thought process behind it but many buyers in India do compare bikes only on basis on price vicinity and/cc only. So they're basically dishing out what a majority of the motorcycle buying public in our country looks for.

True indeed, but the way I see it, we here see above that lame comparisons , that's part of the reason we are here. So why waste time talking about those mindless comparos afterall.

                    Hi Harisankar,

Even I have similar observations like yours. When going past 5k rpm that sound is audible when my ears are not blocked(read flip helmet with open chin gaurd ).

But this sound is only present in my bike during hard acceleration and not any other times. And as usual it's considered as normal by many CBR technicians.

I have have clocked 17k Kms and I observed this sound only when I flip up my helmet and accelerate hard.

yes. that's pretty same as what I said. it only happens when giving throttle or holding at some point above 5.5K rpm. In my case, no need of hard acceleration, slowly sound occurs even if opens the throttle gently. its audible with open face helmet or when visor opened. so it might be the character of this bike and I am new to this.

At what rpm do you shift?

I had this noise when i used to shift up at rpm lower than 4000. Slowly started increasing the shifting up rpm till 6000 and the noise vanished.

P.S. Anyone experienced a different nature of power delivery after crossing 30k kms??

I normally shift up at 4500-5000 rpm when riding relax. else may be at 6K occasionally. but this is not related to shifting in my case, I can hear this sound if I revup to above 5.5K rpm in any gear.
