Well...I once had my entire sprocket replaced & rode all the way from Madras to Ankaleshwar for sure, after that I stopped somewhere enroute to lube the chain before reaching Rishabdev

PS - I usually do 1500+ Km after the sprocket has been replaced, but I will NOT recommend anyone to take chances & hence said 1000 Km to be on safer side.

It becomes active once you cross 10kmph (the abs light switches off after that speed - indicating that it is OK ) not after running 10kms .

If you are okay with the current vfr design, just go ahead and book one. Because there is no clue from honda regarding any upgrade. New 250r/300r will almost share same parts with current cbr250r. Main diff will be fairing and some engine components. So I feel there won't be any problem for spares availability, even if they launch updated model in near future.

I was thinking about getting Frame Sliders to avoid future expense. Enquired at a place called IRev based in Chennai and they quote a price of 4800+shipping. Does anyone know a cheaper option in Mumbai?
It is not my intention to put you off the frame slider purchase , but you should know one thing though, a potential problem to frame sliders mounted at a single point on the bike frame is that, in the event the bike topples over(not slide) or any point of impact which the sliders take first, what it will do is apply most of that impact from the fall onto the frame which can cause small bends or damage to the frame which will not be noticeable to the eye.

Now as per my opinion, I would rather change a pesky piece of fiber than dealing with frame issues , anyday..!!

Then again, many people have different opinion about this. The choice is yours to make.

Thanks for the reply and yes I have reached the same conclusion. Figured I'd rather have cosmetic damages than damage the base structure of the bike!

I got both my tyres replaced today on my CBR250r. For front i got metzeler m5 110/70-17 and for rear i got ceat xoom 140/70-17.
Right after the installing the tyres, the handling feels so weird. I am absolutely clueless. I opted for correct size tyre but the handling is so different. The problem is that the fronts seems too heavy. When i turn the handle towards one direction, the bikes feels dragged towards that direction. Any suggestions?

I recently changed to Michelin on the rear. Cost me Rs3100/-. The contigo developed 4 inch tear on the side wall.

World of difference compared to the Contigo during braking / corners.
I feel I have much more control now.

Haven't tested it on wet roads. Waiting for rains

The front is still the same its doing fine for now. But I am tempted to change that as well.

Well, I can perhaps call this a good timing, glad to see Metzeler being installed on the front, was waiting for someone to pop up, and at the right time.
Where did you get it replaced, was it balanced accordingly, and how much did you pay for the Metzeler, did you source it from third-party resellers or from KTM dealerships?

Did you get your wheels balanced?

Try getting your wheels balanced, check for the rotation direction of the tire, PSI and what not and see how it fares, my gumption is this should solve your issue.. if not

Has your bike been previously suffering from the same issue, as you've said pulling to one side on your old setup?
Has there been any wobbling at or above 60 KMPH with the previous setup
Have you replaced the coneset on your motorcycle

                          Cheers!

I have no clue where i can get wheel balanced. I am planning to visit asc tomorrow to get coneset checked. The psi and tyre rotation is absolutely correct. I was not facing this issue earlier. Was using psd front and contigo at the rear in stock size.

when changing tyre few things needs to be understood.

both your tyres are diffrent compound.

in a rare care if front and and rear are not of same conpan y handling can suffer (rare)

the tyre and wheel both have a point marked (heavy ) usually for the wheel its the place where you place the air valve is. on the tyre its marked with a yellow/red/blue dot. now when installing the tyre it should be exactly opposite to the heavy point of the wheel to keep it balanced else you will end up with a heavy spot.

the tyre direction needs to be checked.

also as its soft compound it will have some impact but that should not be too much when riding.

                                also get the coneset checked.

last but not least get the air pressure checked.

for wheel balancing plethora of youtube DIY videos if you wanna spend some time. HONDA's genuine weight costs 331 bucks each. buy and add if needed.
