I have knocking at around 4k rpm in the 5th as well as 6th at times- have a strong feeling it is purely because of engine overheating-or rather running hotter than usual-

Guys - One of the C250R owner kept saying that the engine knocking at lower RPM's could be due to faulty shims. He got this confirmed & his bike is waiting to Manasarovar Honda in Chennai for shim replacement.
So pls check with your ASC on this front.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

@sudeepnbr, Very nice pictures. I like the 2 photograph. The monsoon clouds adds to the effect.
The road presence of this bike is beautiful. Regards.

Great pics there Sudeep, bike look great,
One word of caution though: While riding in the rain, or off-roading, some dirt and muck will get splashed onto the radiator. Please ensure that you avoid this, or clean it asap, as it might affect the radiator later

Indeed nice pics there.Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostHey Guys,
My CBR started touring today. Went for a 200 kms ride to Muthathi.
It was a run-in ride for the bike. Kept the bike under 5k rpm and was mostly riding at 70s and 80s. The roads were too good and everytime I was feeling like opening the throttle wide open...
But was controlling myself most of the time. I just wanted to touch the 3 digit magical figure. So, once, and only once, I touched 100 at 6k rpm. Rode on the normal roads, wet roads, bumpy roads, bad roads and even did a bit of off-roading. And the bike does well everywhere. Rode in the rain also and it had decent grip. Tires are decent to handle all these conditions. Never had any scary moments because of the tire. I'm not much of a writer. So for now, I'll share some pics from the ride. Enjoy!
Oh ya, and this time I've removed the BBQ grill.
But I don't seem to understand why is only rear number plate IND and front a normal one?
Just out of curiosity ..

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

C250R Owner's - Can someone compile an exhaustive PDI checklist pls? Here's my 2 cents from someone who initiated this either on this thread or on the launch thread sometime ago. I only copied & pasted the contents to Excel & converted to TXT file to upload here.
Pls help fellow xBhpians & future C250R owners. Tks.

How to do it?

How do you do that when the people here don't know that chain needs to be lubed before handing over the bike to customerOriginally posted by aargee View PostGuys - One of the C250R owner kept saying that the engine knocking at lower RPM's could be due to faulty shims. Quite true DK & its really disheartening too. But being patience & explaining to the ASC does help to an extent. Afterall, its our prized posession, so atleast for that, we need to remain patience & when things don't work, shooting an email to HMSI should help.
That's one of the reason I started the PDI checklist. Current owner's are highly appreciated to pour in their suggestions & update it.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Thanks buddy! Yes, I was really worried and careful about the muck splashing onto the radiator. Everytime I stopped, I used to check that and remove it careful if anything was there.Originally posted by hifisharu View PostGreat pics there Sudeep, bike look great,

I like the IND number plates. But the length of the front IND number plate is too much, which adds to the already odd looking front number plate. So I got only the rear one done. Liked the front fibre number plate which was on the CBR that I test rode. So got the done for the front.
I had done the same when I had my FZ. Rear was IND and front was stickering.

Man stick to the service manual and service interval specified by the manufacturer their instruction is tested tried 100 times before they put it in print and are 100 times more interested in safe upkeep of ur vehicle than guys who blabber here.Originally posted by SapSinha View PostI am about to service my cbr and so decided to have a word with service guys.... specifically about the engine oil. now they told me that they would be putting in an oil costing rs. 375 (for the entire oil change amount) ... its some 10W30 ... semi or full synthetic i have no idea.
Now oil change for r15 used to cost me some 450 bucks for 1 litre (15W40) yamaha lube. so my question is - with cbr having an oil capacity of 1.5 ltr how come the entire oil change will cost only 375 bucks? then what kind (quality) of oil are they putting ? they are telling me that it is supposed to last 5000 - 6000kms
.... i mean even the synthetic ones are required to be changed at 4000kms(+\-) interval depending on riding.
Guys any suggestion on the interval at which i should again change the oil again, since at the service station i don't any other options?
To add to it they do not have the oil filter but assured me they would be receiving it in a few days time.

they extra length is actually a practical/safety move. So that when the front shocks depress the number plate does not dig into the front mud guard.Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostBut the length of the front IND number plate is too much, which adds to the already odd looking front number plate.
