Registered today and delivered today. Thanks to all CBR riders in this forum. I have been silently reading all posts of this thread way back since March 2011. The issues with the initial lot of bikes the rides you all did, Aargee's problems with his CBR, Kurt Rules taking his CBR to Leh and many more. Many of you here gave me confidence in this bike and reliability of a CBR which was what nailed my decision. Almost went and booked the KTM Duke 390 but the issues with that bike put me off. Finally realised that CBR is what is best suited for me. Thanks everyone. Hope to join few of you during the xBhp GTG and meet-ups.
Congratulations !! Yes, you have definitely not made a wrong choice with the CBR. The only thing that can better the current CBR for touring abilities, reliability and practicality combination could have been the new CBR300R, something which Honda India does not want to bring into India for some weird reason!

    Happy riding !

      quoting a very old post.
changed my stock battery which was 3.5 y old and was showing age to amaron 9 AH battery (sep manufactured/packed).
1500 bucks after giving the old battery however i am retaining the old battery as it will serve well for another 6-10 months in my old bullet.
      modded the battery compartment.
it was done yesterday however as suggested i will add rubber spacers/foam to reduce vibes to the battery.

instant changes after moving to 9AH battery.

the bike used to come to life with a 1 sec press at starter now with new battery, its drastically reduced to feather touch.
      sputtering at de-acceleration reduced.

I think the Earth wire mod is due in your CBR250R.... Give it a try and see if you still have the sputtering..
        Good luck.

Do it when you find all of the time required to remove and put back the fairings.I know that removing and putting back the fairings will consume a lot of time than the actual fixing of the Secondary Earth Wire ...
            Take care

Check out this thread. The thread owner has done some serious hard work to make a very interesting and informative thread.
Make sure you cover the whole thread from first post so you will get the background of issues and why the "earth wire mod " was done
                along with more useful information.

                  1) Looking for some good T10 SMD LED lights for pilot ones.
Brought multiple T10 for R 40 each but not lasting more than 3-4 hrs.
So this time need a good one.
Can links for that much appreciated.

                  2) Additionally I see that one of my pilot lights is dim than other, I am confused now is it bulb related or wiring related

Hello all, this is Sudipto from Kolkata. I own a CBR250 and planning for a trip with my wife as pillion. Need one information.. what saddle bag fits CBR so that pillion comfort is not hampered. I don't mind if the space a bit less in the saddle bag as I already have a rynox tank bag which is doing really good and my wife can take small stuffs in her back pack as well. Please suggest.

2 contradictory statements and please DO NOT put stress on your/her back! Nada! Zilch!!!
Get a saddlebag that accommodates everything without leaving anything to be carried by the riders.

P.S - how about getting one stitched as per your requirements? Use the best materials and still save vis a vis whatever is available in the market today.
                        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

It doesn't mean to say it's not feasible, but using a bigger saddle bag like the RYNOX NOMAD which has sort of a trapezoidal shape which hampers leg room for the pillion, add in water bottles at those pockets and you have space restricted even more, that's one.

Secondly you have saddle bags which have very little carrying capacity, this in fact, can accommodate pillion, provided the securing straps are secured underneath the seat, something like this.

The story doesn't end here, but if you can get a smaller saddle bag and place more emphasis on tank bag, with more capacity, that should help you to zero in on a saddle bag that fits your requirement. Unfortunately that such small saddlebags are rarirty here in India. You can check your RYNOX series.

                          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                          THE END
