And its really shocking to see such a quality on a 1.9 lac bike. All other HMSI bikes/scooters are being made in India and they enjoy a better quality durable foot pegs.
just noticed my left foot peg is about to part company with the rubber!...it looks like a very cheap third rate kind of rubber used....i suggest ever one check theirs

I didn't quite understand. Are you feeling pity for them due to lack of paddock or they didn't service properly due to lack of paddock? That's the same way every HMSI ASC in India is equipped.
Yup!i dont find it interesting calling up HMSI and my dealer everyday and asking them "sir, how much more..when em i getting my piece of oil filter?"

my SVC has received the paddock but nuthing else!

I suggest lets get honda to listen to us alltogether!therz absolutely no point
stating our grievances in the forum cus nuthings gonna happen!

today i was in a bad mood and somehow i felt very frustrated thinking of the oil filter..

called up HMSI kolkota and asked them "sir how much more waiting for my tank and filter" ..he said "sir its on its way, u'll have it shortly"
i said " well u tell me sir, how many times have u repeated this dialogue to me in the past one month?"..he said "sir its already left the warehouse and shud be with ur dealer anytime now"..i said "well u said this to me exactly a month ago...i guess shipment from the US wud take much lesser time than the shipment from kolkota.... frankly, has the HONDA truck carrying the spares looted in the midway??".....he said "sir i am looking into your case and trying hard to arrange the parts for you as soon as we can"...n i felt so angry i said "u guys have been trained to lie very well, havent you?..impressive" and hung up the call

next, went up to my dealer and asked him "how much longer?"..he said "its gonna be here very soon ....i said "gr8...i think i wud have sold my bike before it arrives." ...he was confused and said "please bear with us, i am trying to arrange the parts as soon as possible..since u call us and HMSI almost daily...we are taking ur case seriously and wheneva the filter arrives, u will be informed first..even the SVC manager has you in his priority list and will get to you as soon as he can"

Tomorrow em gonna go to the dealer and torch that place!! soft words and smiles dont work for them.......

        I regret buying a HONDA!

So took her out for a little spin onto the bypass... 100k came up pretty quickly at 6.2k and before the traffic thickened, I was able to touch 138k on the odo @ 8.5k fully tucked in behind the fairing.

She was able to reach these speeds without breaking a sweat and from the feel of it, once properly broken in, she should easily be able to touch 160k on the odo with a single rider aerodynamically tucked in behind the fairing
Its my fortune that i have not faced any issues discussed here, thank god! . After my first service done at 710Kms including a oil filter changed i have clocked 1500+ Kms without any issues. I purchased the oil filter the day i took delivery after reading here about the oil filter unavailability.

After 1200Km on my odo i managed to touch 150Kmph crouched (I weigh 69Kgs), after 145 or so it was crawling towards 150. Another thing to be noted was head wind was heavy. I hope after few K miles the engine will open up completely and 155 would be possible. Anything around 160 can be under more favorable conditions like tail wind, down slope etc.

Did you do that in singles or with pillion? Remember, I was doing with pillion. When I was doing solo, I smoked out Hyundai Accent (1500cc over 80 Bhp) on straight line. So you may need to redo your test.

Quick is fine. But how quick is the question. Mine can do 100 Kmph in no time too, Just 2 pulls in 3 gears is sufficient. Like I said above, try with pillion.

Amlan - No point regretting. Just move forward & see what can be done. Why not use RTR's filter, atleast temporarily or seek help of few xBhpians from other cities? Let me ask my dealer tomorrow if they've one to spare, provide you bear the courier expense in addition.

I'd be very very very thankful if anyone can actually ship me an oil filter
i am waiting for the filter as if em waiting for my long lost family members..

                • i'm lovinggg itttttttt!

                  hi guys!
rode my CBR for 350 kms today, was simply awesome ! did 130+ with pillion most of the time ,max speed being 135 and does not go beyond that!
my butt was hurting very badly after 80 kms and had to adjust frequently!
but apart from butt, totally no pain in body! my palms stopped hurting now! !
felt like something fell off from the bike and hit my foot! dunno what that was! hav to check for any missing nut from fairing!
completed 1000 kms in 17 days and will be giving it for first service tomorrow!
checked with the cbr mechanic here, and he said that oil filter is available and there is no need to worry!
worried that the engine has become noisy, and also there is THUDD sound during gear shifts! i can also hear a queeking sound from chain!
is there anything else i should observe during my first service / check up!
                  thanx in advance!!!!

Ok, let me check tomorrow, but, I wouldn't push them. But I know for sure, they've a big box full of C250R oil filters

BTW, I'm nearing 1200 Kms & this is 4th day

Edit - Amlan, another option for you is...
                    - Get the vehicle serviced & change the oil
                    - Reuse the same filter until the new one arrives, but, ask them to use about 100-200 ml of clean oil to clean the oil filter

The above was suggested in another forum

                    • something really cool happened & I am little happy now

as soon as I crossed 1200 kms ,its as if somebody pressed the magic button---didn't know such things happened with precision machines

the vibes at low rpms reduced to negligible --the pull was butter smooth at all gears & there was no snatching in the entire 80 kms of the total 150 I rode today

since i generally start rippng only after 1500 kms I am yet to test out on top end

it does go to 110 easily in 6th gear upto 7 k rpm

the bike as mentioned by icemang is pretty pillion oriented as everything related to handling is much more pleasant with pillion on it (pretty surprising since I usually consider pillions as nuisance {not hinting at wives here })

will probably go for servicing tomorrow & will update thereafter

guess i need to increase my 60 kg weight which was an advantage on r15 to 80-90 kgs now for the CBR

oohk.... after todays hot chat with the dealer's, i have been called up to the showroom tomorrow and they would tell me once and for all when em i getting my parts.. the way i was speaking to them today, they really think em gonna sell my honda for a ninja and really demotivate other potential buyers against Honda

when they get their oil filters, em gonna tell them that i will reach the 6K mark in no time so gimme a spare oil filter too!who knows, i dont wanna be troubled again with this thing!

When the oil and oil filter is changed be there with the bike, and ensure the OIL FILTER is fixed correctly with the " OUT SIDE " mark on filter can be seen outside, and the rubber mouth opening is inside.
