  • With some obvious inferior quality parts and issues, I would believe that the quality on this bike is compromised (includes launch preparation and after sales service); example, no way the inferior quality footpegs would pass the Honda's quality test, but it happened. There is no guarantee now that engine quality is not compromised (hope its not, but I highly suspect). Its shocking to know that there is no Paddock stand in the service stations for the service.

Issues have surfaced with Indian made FI bikes, ZMR and 250R, and surprisingly there are no issues with FI Stunner. Stunner is manufactured in India for export purposes only and a few of the bikes are made available to Indian market. As we are not hearing any issues with 250R in other countries, it concludes that Honda has taken the Indian market for granted.

I am quite surprised that no magazine has exposed the quality issues in their reviews. Instead, they were amazed by the quality and finishing of the parts on this bike. The reviews are definitely biased.

I would like all the CBR owners bring these issues to any magazine's notice so that Honda learns a lesson. An article in any newspaper would be an eye opener to Honda because it affects their reputation and it reflects in stock market.

PS: I am not a CBR owner and after observing the owners' reviews here and with my personal observations, these are my conclusions.

When you turned engine back to ON, temperature sensor must have detected higher temperature, causing fan to start.
I think there is no need to keep the ignition ON till fan stops by itself.
Since you are not riding bike anymore, engine will slowly cool down to ambient temperature by itself.

However cooling will happen slower as air cooled engine has fins on its outer walls which help it cool faster than a liquid cooled engine in such case.
Also, since coolant pump is no more circulating the coolant inside, hot coolant may never make it to the radiator to cool down efficiently.
      This may create problem?

What the owners of R15 have to say about this?
Also refer to owner's manual to have a peace of mind.
i always wait for my r15 fan to stop after that switch off the button and move on to work..
and now doing same for my cbr..

And that's the max I reached and didn't wanna go no more. If I can do the math right the vehicle can do 130's I presume ? At 8~9k rpm ? Is this the normal speed attainable during the break in ? And no I wasn't ripping it. I was just doing slow speeds and some burst speeds at time. Is that okay for breaking in ? Or I have to maintain only constant rates ?

@aargee, Its cool bro. Hope it comes early!
I tried Many times and specially today very carefully, in 6th gear 5krmp spead is exactly 80 kmph.

CBR definitely is a rush cooked meal. But I don't think they've compromised anything in the engine or transmission part.
Mostly the issues are like the finishing, paint, footpegs etc.
Regarding the mirrors, you've to blame the SVC for not fixing it properly or tightening it. Those things should be taken care by them during the PDI they do.

          - Use engine kill switch (OFF)
          - Now turn on the key & notice the fan to be running
What I ideally do is, keep the fan running until it stop automatically (like we do in cars)
Y'day I saw the HMSI engineer switch OFF the engine even when the fan is running. When asked, he says its perfect & it can be done. WTH!!!
Who's right? Obviously HMSI engineer knows more, but, what do you guys follow?
I just switch it off after the ride. Also I always use the kill switch in traffic when its red. And after starting, I don't wait for the fan to stop to press the ignition switch. Am I doing wrong? Will this harm in anyway?

IS it FAN or Fuel pump please confirm .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

We're talking about the FAN. When we switch ON the Red Engine Kill Switch (after riding sometime and then stopping), both FAN and the Fuel pump starts working. I always wait for the fuel pump to start completely (till the yellow light goes off), but start the ignition before the Fan stops.

Yes, you are right! This should be highlighted. I faced the gear spindle issue from day 1 and thus wrote about it. I highlighted this fact, and the article has also appeared in the xBhp magazine, as I wrote it. So no bias here.

Touchwood, did not face any other issue post that. But the owners who are, should bring this up and highlight it. Print media is the best method possible.

Hey bro its really bad to know how HONDA peoples are providing support for the premium bike like CBR. Also the footrest thing is also seems poor.
I own a ZMR bro its launched in 2009 but still its hard to find its spairs & needs waiting about 15 days . But not so long like you are waiting. I would suggest you to report the issue to any national newspaper , so Honda will seriously look in this issue & no one in future should have to wait so long.
