Brilliant!!! I was just trying to understand this today & here comes the advice at the right time You're absolutely right; I did this today & have less pain. Did mostly between 6K RPM all way upto 8.5K RPM with the speeds from 88 Kmph to 128 Kmph. Enjoyed smoking out all cars

Rode all way from Chennai-Vikravaandi-Chennai, 150+150 Kms. On the return leg it took less than 2 hours

Here they said that the service is done on 1st come 1st serve & takes 1 day (Give for service this morning, take delivery next day morning )

I asked them if they would get 100's of C250R for service to take a day, but they said that C250R is treated like Dazzler/Shine & Twister. So the C250R trained technician works on Uni/Shine/Activa in addition to C250R & hence would take time.

How far this is true? Friends who've done from other cities, appreciate your inputs too. Tks.

The problem is, I need a good transparent PPF without which I feel hard to do this at the cost of damaging the paint.

    • Leak!!

I was all geared up for a 600 kms ride today as I was done with the break-in and serivce yesterday. Started at 7, after doing around 30 kms pulled over for some reason and noticed oil leakage. Damn it!! Oil was leaking from the oil filter area. All the excitement was gone and was very pissedoff!! Took it back to the service and the tech guy wasnt there as it was a sunday. Service guy took my number and addr and said he'll send the concerned tech guy to my place first thing in the morning.

The nuts are tight though. I guess the gasket must be placed the other way round or it the oil filter which is installed the other way round?

Here is hyderabad, There is a trained tech guy who works on CBRs. CBRs are prioritized. I walked in at 2.30 pm and there were around 50-60 other bikes/mopeds lying there waiting for a service. As soon as I went there, A guy with a smile walked towards me and said " How can I help you sir? " I said first service, then they called the tech guy, introduced him to me and he took the bike in, did all the required settings, checked and stuff and delivered the bike with in 30 mins. Din't take much long.

Looks like CBR is the priority here :P

Right side fairing is held to the frame by 3 clips and a couple of bolts. one of the clip was missing in my bike.

                • ABS Vs Non ABS

Hi all my brother has booked a NON ABS Red with one of the Chennai dealer .
He is bit confused whether to go for ABS or NON Abs , myself and my brother has
driven ABS version , the breaking quality is amazing . He will be sparing using the
bike ( that to for week end only).
Can any NON ABS owner can share there views on the braking quality compared to the ABS one. Valuable suggestion from the owners are welcomed

                  • Now I can officially post in this topic..

                    Hi all,

Got my black standard CBR yesterday.. Was tired Answering to the questions of awestruck fellow riders all through the way home from showroom.. I am more than a happy man now...

                    My first impressions are:

                    1. No pain anywhere in my body(i'm 5'8") due to bike riding position.
                    2. As most of you said there is knocking below 3K RPM in any gear.
                    3. Brakes in Standard one is also super good.

Will post the pics soon as i am not able to take the bike for photo shoot due to rain..

Could someone please tell me how to set time in the bike console...
Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Hmm...quite interesting; did that happen when the fairings were being opened or right out of showroom itself? Were you allowed inside the workshop when your bike was being serviced?

I don't know anything from disadvantages, but, go for transparent one. I actually ordered it, but there wasn't sufficient stock when I ordered. So I'd to buy this one - Keiti Honda Clear Tankpad THD-206C - 900.00Rs

Anyway, I'm not much of tankpad person to have lots of designer stuffs (like Monster etc) & I was looking more of the purpose rather than style. If you like Keiti Wholly Transparent Tankpad KT1200 - 900.00Rs, go for it, it will simply hide & look neat on your bike. I personally like this one.

Ok, upto you. If you want to try, go ahead & keep us posted on the outcome & we'd get a good chance to switch over, if its excellent [/QUOTE]

BTW, I might buy Meguiar's polish for my Rx & C250R.

Braking quality amazing??? Hmm...I personally feel it could be improved on C250R. They aren't sharp. Even R15 has got better braking power, but, that's just my opinion.

Anyway, if you've got that extra $$$ opt for ABS. Frankly speaking, had the dealer given my black color (the one I love), I would've certainly opted for ABS happily or...most importantly...if the dealer had a ABS C250R (in the first place), I would've opted. He only had a STD C250R & didn't know when the next lot is expected, hence, I'd to buy what he stocked!!!

I'd a complete go through on the manual for first time when I was waiting for test ride. I'd gone through the essentials of owner's manual once again when I was waiting for my delivery & third time when both myself & Wifey were going through the manual. It doesn't harm going through owner's manual isn't it

                          • @argee : It happened right out of the showroom. It was missing right from day one. I have a habit of checkingout all possible accessable areas of the bike and when I checking out under the fairinf, I found that the clip was present on one side but missing on the other side.

I just hope that the oil leak is because of some minor error. Hope there was no damage caused because of this.

                            • ^^Oil leaking is definitely a serious issue, whether its due to a minor or major cause. This should not be happening and the service center should be blamed. As you said the nut is tight, its definitely gasket issue and I do not understand why the gasket should fail??????

You must be thanking your lucky stars, you have noticed it in just 30 kms in the planned 600 km high-speed cruise.

On top of that it is a metal gasket so it should not fail at all at this early stage. I narrowed it down to three possibilities.

                                1. Gasket.
                                2. Oil filter spring not installed.
                                3. Oil filter installed the other way round.

Anyways the mehanic will pay a visit to my plae tomorrow to diagnose the problem. Lets see what'll happen.
