  • Got my service done at 1100 kms on the odo. Surprisingly, They charged me just 330 for 1.4 ltrs of oil and 260 for the filter. That was pretty cheap. service was done by the only CBR250 trained guy there. It hardly took some 30 mins.

@bladeboy : Congos. Looks like the bike was just married

so u are doing exactly what em planning to do!

so u say that synwax is just enough to make the bike shine?
and if i want that "extra" detail, how will a coat of our desi waxpol on synwax coat do??..or do i have to get a mother father branded carnauba wax?

Yes i know, sitting at the PC table, the little extra shine and warmth matters a lot but practically i hardly think therz any major difference in looks between synwax and carnauba wax?? i am wrong?

        Great!
But what Engine Oil did they use for your CBR?

I'm not really sure but it was 10w30 from the white 1L can. Oil filter changed. These guys dint charge me for lubing the chain (they lubed it using motul chain lube). 1-2 clips were misssing from one of my side fairings, he put those for free, Did some clutch adjustments, gear level adjustments and some other minor adjustments and checks. Dint charge for anything apart from oil and filter.

I'll ask the mech tomo which oil was actually used.

The FX Synwax alone will be enough. I dont recommend mixing a phoren and desi brand on our baby CBR. So I wouldnt suggest Waxpol coat over Synwax. Stick to the same brand. Some prefer the good ol shine of the Carnuba. While some prefer the wet looks of the Synthetic Wax. Both look good in their own way. And truth be told, I cant seem to pick one over the other as the better looker.
I hope you know the SynWax is in two forms. Paste and Liquid. The latter is easier and faster to apply. The former will last longer but will require more manual labor.
I went for this Mother's California Gold Wash and Wax + FX Synwax Paste Combo.

I think you should consider using better words (less colourful language). You might be making fun of some members here.
You probably know more about bikes & polishes than some others here; but you should realise you need to exhibit your knowledge in a positive manner.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

this teflon thing is a bit of a rip off- the guy at UDAY HONDA had a polishing/buffing machine and was using some cheap carnuba wax- and calling it TEFLON coating saar!!!

also- if anyone finds their front brake light not working -look under the brake caliper and youl find a switch with two fairly loose lugs covered in a rubber boot- bad design - just press the thing tight using pliers and slip it back on..........

Well, I'm one of the clowns who actually got it done

As briefed at the SCV point, this ULTRACOAT Poly Tetra Flour Ethelyne Treatment (commonly referred to as TEFLON coating) is a paint sealant which protects the paint from IR rays of the sun, salt, grease, tar, acid rain, bird droppings, etc

They first applied a layer of clear JOPASU PTFE Ultracoat on the 'painted' surfaces with a foam applicator and left it in the sun to dry for about half an hour or so... it turned a milky white...then, they polished it to a glossy finish with an orbital buffing machine.

It came with a warranty of 1yr and a COMPLIMENTARY reapplication after 6months.

I have no idea how good or bad this may be, but all the supportings like guarantee card, 1 complimentary application after 6months and 'pakka' invoice had me convinced..

Anyone, some pointers pls? I strongly assume, its my sitting posture or riding style
How is the riding position compared to the R15?

You can grip the tank lightly with your thigh and use your stomach muscle to hold the upper body. Try it for a few days, and it will become second nature.

The Teflon coating is one of the many extra chargeable value added service by many A.S.S..but there are complaints of it turning opaque or whitish glaze after some time...P T F E as a transparent coating cannot protect from I R, or UV but will offer protection from the other forms of attack on the paint surface....Hope the recent advances makes the coating perform as claimed..
