Yup i agree on this point, the rubber is strong enough to handle the daily usage..it has to be a case of mishandling.

about my footrest, well, glad u remember bro!! naah its not fixed yet... i had called up HMSI after u guys suggested me and asked for a spare footrest and he said they wont ship a single footrest and i will have to wait till the bulk spares arrive at my dealer.I said that, if u guys dont ship the spares in time, thats none of my problem, without a footrest i cant even drive my bike..then again he said ohk sir gimme your contact no and dealer details and we will try and arrange a footrest for you and ship it to your dealer and call you back...

I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY FOOTREST AND TANK!!!

for the time being, 5 rs wala FEVI QUICK FOR THE WIN!!!

    btw,did u nut ur dealer?? :P

    • Did a back to bangalore trip last night (370Kms), a faster one, for around 70 Kms was the fastest ride i ever had, was drafting behind a Merc-Benz Kompressor and a skoda laura between 120-150KMPH (at a safe and comfortable distance). Not a single moment i felt scary, and to the down side no adrenaline rush it was damn stable at those speeds and could only feel the speed by seeing the dash. For the first 300Kms with speeds around 90-100 for 230Kms and 120-150 for 70 kms costed 9.11 Litres of gas, turned out to be 31Kmpl.
Though i did not rip it to the redline in any gear was only using 6th cog over 100 which was enough to catch any traffic. And was always staying below 9K in any gear.
Regarding body pain: I am 5' 6", i did not had any wrist pain i was always using a riding glove and grabing the throttle between my thumb and pointing finger 80% and not with entire palm, no back pain, ocassionally butt goes numb, getting off the seat a while cures it instantly.

It goes dirty easily , not yet cleaned. Cleaning often is really a pain , which should be done to maintain her beauty.

If there is any mishap it happens from the outside. The rubber teared off from inside. I am sure the rubber had come off due to minor mishap if any and it is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I have seen at least two CBRs with loose rubber in the footpegs. Compare the CBR's footpeg with Dazzler or Stunner, you will understand.

+ a hundred thousand. Quality has been compromised a lot on the CBR. Though not with the engine but with other components. This foot pedal is just a minor thing to live with but my oil filter spacer/gasket/washer or what ever you people call it, that has gone for a toss when the oil filter was changed and as a result its leaking oil all over the place

Been to the errvice place again today and they dint have any clue what to do as there isnt any stock. Not even a single spare part is available for the CBR. What was honda thinking?!? Release a bike and not the spares? Atleast the most important oil filter, gaskets, etc should be released on time. This is way too pathetic!!!

Congratulations on buying a brand new motorcycle that is produced in a small country and distributed to the entire world that honda serves. Of-course there will be shortages the first year or so after demand falls then parts will be easy to get. just replace it with more comfortable aftermarket parts should be easy to get. =D

They took about an hour including lubing chain.

Its upto one, if they want to save 2-3 Rs per litre. These days highways (esp in TN) have good & big outlets with quality fuel & they even can test it. Shell isn't available on all the highways, but, PSU fuel stations are.

And its really shocking to see such a quality on a 1.9 lac bike. All other HMSI bikes/scooters are being made in India and they enjoy a better quality durable foot pegs.
Saar...bad foot pegs attributes to two things...
                          1. HMSI
                          2. Owner
I prefer thinking the latter way.

But guys...wait to hear for a big news...CBR250R stalled in middle of nowhere. Happened enroute from Chennai to Vellore. Will give a detailed report tomorrow or when I find sometime. And this happened after my 1st service is completed (at 949 Kms) at 1055 Kms this afternoon.

I was 90+ Kms from Chennai & 60 odd Kms towards Vellore & HMSI. So did HMSI try to resuce? Yes, they'd someone call me from Vellore. So atleast from that front, I'd say, their ASC isn't that bad as what is being portrayed all over.

This morning I completed my first service at JSP Anna Nagar (Rs 586, including filter & oil change & chain lubing), I've to admit that C250R was made exclusive at their ASC. Had to wait 3 hours to get the vehicle delivered. Reason?
                          1. I was there 1 hour before they actually start the service including sometime to procure the oil filter
                          2. Around an hour to service the vehicle
                          3. Another one hour power cut to get the bill generated

Was I happy with service? You bet They really brought smile to my face. People working there were looking at it curiously, but one damn Unicorn customer was happily sitting on the bike (imagine it was on side stand) & I'd to give a mild piece of my mind to him

Sad to hear this happening with your new CBR 250.....and to be stranded on the highway in the hot SUN isn't an acceptable situation either. Did the servicing had anything to do with this ?..since you had completed nearly 1,000 Kms on the highway without a single issue, prior to the service.
Hope H M S I has a logical explanation for this , and solve the problem permanently..

                                Thanks.

Today I got the extended warranty from Honda.SO the warranty of my bike has gone up from 2 years to 5 years. I paid 1200 for the extended warranty

I gave my boy a good wash. Pampered him with Turtle wax for more than an hour

I am posting the pics of my bike with cover. This cover fits perfectly well. It is a bit tight. I tried to pull down the cover but the mirror got loosened. This is due to the positioning of the mirrors. So I avoid pulling the cover but still it covers the bike by 85%. I am happy with that.
