Just my two cents on the painting thing:
If the surface is metal, and has not been sanded and primed, the paint will chip off very soon. It'll come off in small flakes, and will look really bad. If you want to get this done, consult a professional painter.
If the surface is plastic, the carrier fluid used in the spray paint, usually some kind of alcohol base, can damage the plastic surface. So test on a small area, before painting the whole thing

me to was thinking about the 1% increase only.initial quote given was around 187000 for abs and now its around 193000 .i was a kind of busy when i attended the call so could not ask details .so will ask them when i go there for PDI.Originally posted by NaveenRk View PostSeriously.?!! I'm gonna book the Std version next week ., I googled to find tat the VAT increase for motorcycles in Tamilnadu is 1% i.e from 12.5% to 13.5%, so even with the Tax effect it should be a increase of 1.6k or 1.9k right.?
Just few days back I read about Honda increasing the localization of parts from 75% to 90% to make profits. I doubt whether they increase the price further.
P.S : The price on the Honda Site has not been changed till now, Enquire your Dealer about it.

P.S. any link to all the things i should look in for PDI.

Yes, this is true but since the aerosol spray paint can is cheap. You can always even it out by spraying again.Originally posted by hifisharu View PostJust my two cents on the painting thing:

The F1 spray is pretty good and does not chip off unless its from areas where there is constant body contact. The paint would not chip off from the engine case and all (vigorous water wash using a brush can chip it off). Normal water washes do not do anything to the paint. (The surface i am talking about over here is metal only and not plastic or chrome. It does not stay on these parts for long)Wake up to Motorcycling!

I have used a gloss black i guess and i never used it on plastic parts. This could be correct.
I haven't done any sanding or priming (Too much hardwork)
So i just sprayed it over.

Hi this is Shantanu from Mangalore, had booked my CBR(Red) on 10th April from Matrix Honda.Made the payment today would be taking the delivery on saturday/monday.
Inspected the bike myself(thanks aargee for the checklist u posted on the other forum),was free from any scratches but there was a centimeter of gap only on the right sided fairing(left was perfect) ;also the tail portion and the grab rails were slightly misaligned. Has anyone faced the same issue and got it resolved by removing n refixing the fairing?
BTW it was the same story with all the 4 bikes i saw at the dealer.

These things can be fixed easily. If there is a gap of 1cm, then maybe the fairing is not fixed properly. Ask them to open and fix again.Originally posted by doc_x View PostHi this is Shantanu from Mangalore, had booked my CBR(Red) on 10th April from Matrix Honda.Made the payment today would be taking the delivery on saturday/monday.

Regarding the grab rails, I too had the misalignment problem. This is also easy to fix. It has got two mount point under the rear seat. They can align properly by opening this.Sudeep P Nambiar

I have a small doubt to clarify. This bike suits my requirement very much and I could spare 1,60,000 for it. however, would be really helpful, if existing members (aargee, et al) could answer the following:
1. does this bike qualify as a no tension bike. (I would use it for my daily commuting, weekend ride , getting shopping done from Spar/ hypermarkets). What i meant, does it demand more than regular servicing?
I have been using my Gladiator for close to 6 yrs and I never had any big hassle (touchwood) apart from regular services/ unforeseen puncture issues which no body can avoid. so is it a no head ache bike for normal riders like me ?Ride safe..wear helmet.
Love trance..? you gotta listen to this

I've been riding my CBR 250R from last 58 days / 3500 kms. I commute on it daily (~30 kms), did a lot of weekend rides and trips (50 - 400 kms rides) and take it everywhere.Originally posted by airbase View Post1. does this bike qualify as a no tension bike. It didn't demand any extra servicing other than the regular one. For me, till now it has been a No Tension bike.Sudeep P Nambiar
