Is it? It usually takes 2-3 hours to cool down the engine & then another 1-2 hours to fix the shim & put things back.

Yes, only if the ASC has lied.

They are using rubber mats/layering between the tank and the head cover, I believe to conceal all that wiring. Looking at the maze of jutting wires and hoses reminds of the messy arrangement of wires in the CL500. Its not the gasket, gaskets are between the cover and the head, the head and the cylinder, the cylinder and crankcase. Ant this is not a retro-fit, comes on every bike. If you go for tappet adjustment, do have a look.

Depends on how far you have the ride the bike to get it to the SVC

Aargee .. Need your opinion .. I am going to give my bike for service next week most probably ...

am confused with two ASC ... either Didar (t nagar ) or JSP ( anna nagar )

What JSP told me was they would take atleast 2 days to give the bike because of the tappet adjustments ... and they have 20w40 and they have the oil filter

What Didar told me was it would take a day but they never mentioned anything about tappet adjustments .. and they have 10w30 and they too have the oil filter as well !!

Which of these ASC would you recommend to me ? BTW does it take " TWO " days to check the tappet ??

Two days is too much; whom did you speak with? The workshop at Padipudhunagar or AN showroom? The last I know was they only take 24 hours from taking it in & sending it out.

It doesn't take two days; it only takes a day, I'd say go in person one day, talk to the highest level of authority over there & find out the truth. I'm sure they'll give back in a day & most importantly, they're supposed to INSPECT the tappet on first service. If they don't hear abnormal sound, then they don't open up the head. So effectively means, the work is only oil & filter change which hardly takes an hour.

I've visited both the workshops; like I said before, Didar has an experienced mechanic who's done work on SBK's, but their workshop has hardly any facility for servicing more than 3 bikes (including Activa) & if you look at their parking facility, you'll run away ; while JSP has more than ample space (probably A/C servicing booth for C250R by now) & a good & knowledgable technician. I leave the choice to you so that you can come back & post your views

Like I said before, get down to streets, don't simply enjoy the couch at home with tele calls; get down to the workshop & talk to ppl then you'll get the real picture.

And what is this Tappet thinge ? Noise something ? I have no clue what it is. How do I find whether my bike has such kinda issue ? Or whether it is facing one ?

Tappet noise will be irritating one for sure, just watch for any additional noise when your engine idles & that's tappet noise. You don't need to worry on it; ASC will take care it during service
