You are 100% ryt bro! that will set them right!
apart from failing to provide us with proper service, they are forcing us to service our bikes in a wrong/incomplete method just to hide their faults i.e asking to change oil without filter and calling it "optional"

Changing oil without the filter is like someone eating from a plate and without washing the plate, serving someone else to eat from it!

There is no guarantee now that engine quality is not compromised (hope its not, but I highly suspect). Its shocking to know that there is no Paddock stand in the service stations for the service.

Issues have surfaced with Indian made FI bikes, ZMR and 250R, and surprisingly there are no issues with FI Stunner. Stunner is manufactured in India for export purposes only and a few of the bikes are made available to Indian market. As we are not hearing any issues with 250R in other countries, it concludes that Honda has taken the Indian market for granted.

I am quite surprised that no magazine has exposed the quality issues in their reviews. Instead, they were amazed by the quality and finishing of the parts on this bike. The reviews are definitely biased.

I would like all the CBR owners bring these issues to any magazine's notice so that Honda learns a lesson. An article in any newspaper would be an eye opener to Honda because it affects their reputation and it reflects in stock market.

PS: I am not a CBR owner and after observing the owners' reviews here and with my personal observations, these are my conclusions.
If Honda is to keep up (or regain?) CBR customers' confidence, what should surely follow in due ciurse is replacement of all the cheap accessories with good quality ones - something Yamaha did for R15 customers.

            • Dreams can come true!

Guys, finally getting my RED ABS tomorrow!!! no words to express the joy!Saw the bike at the dealer yesterday.they have already allotted each bike.so no option to "choose" the bike.when i pointed out few colour scrapings, the employee said its on all bikes, and nothing can be done about it."utna to chalta hai"
anyways, will check the bike properly tomorrow during delivery.Just Cant Wait!

Should i get the coating done from them?the employee said that they do it during delivery infront of the customer.

Also, can anyone from Pune tell me where to get the cover for the bike?the society i live in is huge, & my bike will be a major attraction to everyone.want the cover from day 1!!

              cheers.

              • no shims available at svc so obviously no tappet adjustment possible

As per vihaan honda mechanic though putting in an additional shim as a standard procedure will help in further making the bike smooth

Hmmmnn.. i feel very lucky to have Mr. Sawant here in sai point SVC, miraroad. On day 1st, just hearing to the bike, he himself told me that there is a tappet noise from my bike. He said, it will require replacing the shims which arent available yet. So adviced and assured me that there wont be any problem. I ride the way it is and he will get it fixed as soon as he receives spares. I know, trusting them is risky.. But somehow i trust him as he has always been logical, frank and reasonable for my all my doubts and problems..

                    • Normally valve clearances are checked in the first service and adjusted if needed by adjusting the locks nuts. As one our members mentioned in the previous posts, shims are used to keep the valve clearances in control. Is there any mention in the manual of replacement of shims to control the tappet noise (valve clearance noise) if needed? If not, why are the shims failed in the initial few kilometers? Any expert analysis? If shims are needed to be replaced in the first service for valve clearance adjustment (only if needed), Honda is supposed to make these available at all service centers along with the launch of the bike.

                        • Checked my CBR at the showroom yesterday. Did a thorough PDI. Bike was in top condition and did not find any flimsy finishes. Asked the guy to re-attach the fairing as i found an unusual gap on the left side of the tank. The PDI guy told me that it would be taken care of - not a biggie..

In cbr250R there are no tappet adjustment screw and lock nut method...instead the distance between rocker arm and valve stem is measured and shims to suit this gap are inserted to take care of tappet adjustment...As per Honda directive all CBR 250 are to be checked and corrected for this at first 1,000Km service.

                              Guys,
My bike has finally arrived. Made the payment yesterday, will be taking the delivery tomorrow.

It's the silver model, I'd booked it on 18th May at Dhruvdesh Honda, Mekri Circle(Bangalore).

Did check yesterday for paint quality and stuff, everything seems okay except for a few minor things which he said he can take care.

Can someone tell me what are the things I need to check before taking delivery of the bike?

Will post pics once I get the bike.

Then, why the shims are not made available at service stations? Is Honda thinking that the bike will last for years without any spares requirement?
