Welcome to xBhp Forums v2020

Welcome to 2020 Edition of the xBhp Forums . As you might have already noticed, the forums have undergone a major upgrade to keep up with the times. This will make the forums faster and intuitive and much more mobile friendly.

      • Can we guys have a quick count of how many are down with their cbr's first service, experience, oil used (grade and cost) and problems faced after it or before it..?? May help to identify a common problem with the bike.. (plus i want to know the feedback from guys who used 20w40 and the response of that and compare it with feedback and response after using 10w30.)

        my cbr's first service was done at just 400kms on odo.. But the oil was changed at 1200kms.. Oil filter was cleaned.. Still not changed.. 2.2k on odo now.. Tappet noise exists but promised to be solved at second service or when shims arrive..also there is a very small play in steering cone set. Tried tightening but then they advised and agreed to change as parts arrive.. Top speed till now: 147kmph solo and 134kmph with pillion (not ripped anytime and was a gradual increase).. FE is consistently 32kmpl from day one.. ASC is very helpful and has cleaned and lubed my chain with motul sprays four times.. Free of cost.
        Also i had complained HMSI about a small scratch on tank..and all they could manage is to offer me a repaint at the ASC.. I am still thinking if to go for it or not but it will anyways be done by them after a month or so as they also dont have the Honda stickers for the tank.. So i have time to think. They told it would be like original.. And if i still dont like it, they will swap the tank with a new one..

        • Got my Black CBR Today

          Friends i got my black CBR 250R today just 2 hrs back, now i am a proud winged rider as well, wanted to go for the C-ABS one but the showroom ran out of it and i had to contend with a STD one, i hope it's as good as the ABS one, if i use safe ride ABS available which is used in other bikes like my R15 which i use to have till today, will it be as effective as C-ABS. Does ABS really matter that much? please answer my query

            it matters most in panic braking situations.

            it is definitely a useful aid.

              I had, before i bought my STD version!!

              back then they said just to add the C-ABS thing, it requires a lot many changes including rims, discs a lot of wires and this modification itself would cost abv 50K!


              so em waitin for aftermarket C_ABS system...

              I am kinda comfortable with the STD brakes for now so i wouldn't opt for ABS atleast for now

                  No my dealership is very good!they support me in every cause!the CBR salesman is very very friendly to me...wheneva somethin happens, he calls me first...wateva aftermaket parts arrive, he has promised to inform me first....

                  he has even told me to tell him before hand wat parts em gonna need so he will be reserving them from me like windshields and footrest and spare oil/air filters etc etc

                  wheneva i go for any prob, the salesman itself accompanies me to the SVC to make sure my job is done smoothly

                  Apart from that my father is the commissoner in somethin i dont know
                  and the dealer and sub dealer know my father very well.so another reason to gimme some priority...

                  on purchase i got a "HUGEE" discount on my bike...and a lot of things are free for me at my dealership which is best if i dont mention here (u know y!)..i am supposed to "keep shut" as per my father's instructions!

                  everyone knows me at the dealership so,
                  i have got no complain with my dealership!



                  they wont underestimate me cus reason 1) My father the great - ( they know it well that my dad taken some serious action against gugnani honda,bbsr and temporarily shut down its sales, cus they dropped my bro's bike of the ramp during 1st service and denied to change the parts after which they themselves called up my bro and gave him a brand new bike free of cost,only after which they wer allowed to resume operations)

                  2) They know i wont let things go easy, they saw me contact HMSI delhi and straight away file a complaint when then told me to "manage" with the scratched tank....so....

                  • Done with 1st service

                    Hi All,
                    Got my first service done at Kun Honda Adyar,Chennai.
                    Their ASC treatment was pretty okay. I had atleast 2-3 personnel asking me about any problems I had faced, any complaints etc.
                    I told them about the bolts holding the RVMs rusting in a single rain. They taken a picture to send it to Honda.

                    As for the costs, it cost 750 Rs. Oil filter change, Oil change, chain cleaning and lubing and then some washers were mentioned in the bill.

                    The bike seems to be more set now. The engine vibes have come down a notch, the sound is no more coarse in lower end but sound more softened.
                    The clutch is more precise now.

                    My only doubt is Sudeepnbr mentioned using honda throttle synthetic oil. Not sure if the same was used in my case as well. I verified the oil grade as 10w30 but the guy who gave delivery of the bike had not clue if the oil was mineral or synthetic.

                    Overall, 1st service seems to have done more good than harm. No oil leaks seen so far

                      i just completed my 1050 kms in just 20 days will be giving it for service tomorrow!
                      one thing is clear from all the reviews i have read ! no matter how u ride and what u do CBR seems to respond the same way! i also did 147 solo and 135 with pillion! the tappet sound does exist and is annoying(i booked CBR mainly b'coz of the butter smooth engines of honda-here i was let down!). i have ripped my bike a few times,but i generally kept it below 90kmph!
                      it returns 60kmph @ 3k rpm,70 kmph@ 4k rpm, 80 kmph @ 5k rpm,and 100 kmph @6300 rpm all in 6th gear!
                      i love riding it in highways,hate it when riding in city!
                      will hav to see what happens tomorrow after the first service!

                        Guys I have had problems with my steering lately and have taken the bike to the svc center thrice as I was not comfortable riding my bike and the steering was stiff and as soon as it was loosened the bike showed play in the steering. My bike was completely opened and guess what. The complete cone-set is rusted. This is just after a month of usage & 1100 kms on ODO. My byke is in total litter lying at the service center. The quality of the spares used in this bike is so bad. I think these images would show you what I am talking about.

                            wat has happened to honda???
                            outer parts and cosmetics compromised..ok to some extent. but compromise with important internal parts is totally unacceptable!!!

                            we must bring this issue to the notice of higher authorities...common guys, dont u think its too damn early to face sooo many problems?especially from an international standard bike!!???

                            surfing through google, i havent seen a single complaint from CBR owners outside india,its just us who have to face it all!


                            lets collect all the problems reported in here and do something abt it!

                            • It seems there was no quality control for CBR. There are so many issues reported in such a short span of time. To add salt to injury, there is no spare part support.

                                like someone suggested hre, Honda has to replace our parts with quality material like yamaha did or its the fall for honda india!
