Thanks for the reply. I got 10W30 FS 1L bottle today. Karizma's engine share many similarities with CBR's engine - both are short stroke engines with good amount of low end torque. HH also recommends 10w30 grade. I think this will be good choice for my Karizma

Karizma/ZMR are the longest stroked bikes this side of bullets. It's a under-square engine. The CBR is a short stroke engine. The CBR develops torque earlier because of the cam and tuning.

              Hi Nithesh,

Right time for me to pen down my thought. I got mine(Red Non-ABS version) delivered on 03/08/11 (1day before my birthday ) I am fully(well almost) satifisfied with the bike except for a few minor complaints.

First, the rough gear shift! Let me tell you I had a Honda Unicorn as my first bike and it had set a benchmark among my friend circle with two wheels when it comes to gear shift. From there to The CBR has been a tough transition on the gear shift front. When I first rode it, I was not able to take it to 2nd gear on a heavy Bangalore traffic. Had to literally stop it on the road side and bring it to 2nd gear with great efford. But after riding it for almost 100Kms, the gear feels much better, though still not smooth.
I guess it would take the first service (oil and oil filter change) to make it smoother?
I have not complaints regarding the engine although a common feedback from friends is that its too loud for a Honda engine.
Paint quality is excellent. Showroom guys made a single/small scratch on the tank, felt like cursing him but I was too happy to get the delivery of the bike so left it.
Finishing is good, though it could have been better.
No rusted parts, chain is in good quality.
Not happy with the foot rests, quality aint the best.
Overall I am happy with the bike till date, only time will tell how it fares. Will keep you and others posted on anything I feel could be useful info to others.

Can anyone suggest a good service centre in Banglore. I thought of giving it to Haiku Honda, please suggest a better centre if anyone has any experience...

Why do you guys unnecessarily jump into negative conclusions?

                  All I meant was this...

PSR has done extensive research on his ZMA & has posted several of his findings & I didn't judge this just by the posts since I know him personally. Infact he was the one suggesting to opt for ZMA's engine oil for C250R in Chennai & was explaining how best it would perform.

Whew!!! Why can't people take the face value of any comment!!!

                  Edit
Oh!!! Wait a minute...did you guys think that I restricted him on C250R thread!!! All I wanted to convey was C250R, 10W30 is no better & the best engine oil advices are on ZMA thread!!! How could you guys even think on those lines???

Double is , especially on non short strokes!!! Disaster my friend. Pls don't do it. Use brakes in addition or stay more alert.

Justifies for early oil change, but provokes several questions to me We'll talk about that later. But in my case, the harshness disappeared when the engine oil was changed.

                        • Engine braking...
                          1. 6K RPM at 6th gear
                          2. Then, you shift down gear to 5 without applying front or rear brakes
                          3. Then, once again you shift down to 4 without applying brakes

                              • Folks,

This is Venkat from Chennai. I had booked a CBR 2 months back and on getting to know that there are lots of issues I had cancelled my booking hoping I'd book it few months later after issues are solved and the coming batch of bikes from Honda won't have many issues. I own a Honda Stunner and I'm an amateur to all tech stuff relating to a bike but I know a few things about my stunner. I want a CBR for touring and on reading about issues people experience I am contemplating whether to go for a Pulsar 220 or a CBR. But my heart says CBR but my mind says Pulsar since even if I have any issues during touring, Bajaj has service centres everywhere whereas I doubt if Honda can match that and they are experiencing a shortage of spares as well for some months now. I personally feel "Once a wing rider, always a wing rider". Can you guys help me in making a decision. Can a rebook again or just go for a Pulsar 220?
