Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Ram. Had my clutch cable changed along with the tires a few days ago. Seems to be a straight forward job, the mechanic fixed the cable in 5 mins while I was watching.Originally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
AK3D SIR, I am from gujarat but at present living in pune. I casually ride to gujarat from pune in holidays so i think getting bike from pune will be better for me. Moreover, i had also inquired for cbr250r in baroda, my hometown, but didn't find any good bike withing my budget. Here in pune, i have found a cbr250r ABS model for 97,000 which has run 19,000 kms in 3 years. Though i have another option for non ABS cbr250r for same price which has run 6500 kms in 3 years. As i have been following ASH18's thread of restoring its cbr, i think if i work on the cbr which i am going to buy, in some time it will be in as good condition as new. The only thing i will need to replace is front tyre as of now but i will be replacing the whole set with MRF Zapper Q or Michelin Street Radial as per availability.Originally posted by AK3D View PostIf your home is in Gujarat, you can easily get a non ABS CBR for 65K to 1 Lakh and an ABS model from 70K onwards there.
This is my thinking but i would like to have your opinion also as well as aargee sir's and Ash18 sir's opinions regarding this.
Waiting for your response.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Resale values of the higher CC bikes are much lower in GJ, and you will need to wait and search in case you wish to purchase from Gujarat. Regarding ABS vs STD, apart from the safety advantage of the ABS unit, the braking (Nissin unit) is much better in the ABS version.Originally posted by ishan2290 View Post@AK3D SIR, I am from gujarat but at present living in pune. MRF also has 110/70 17 and 140/70 17 size tyres, including radials. They should set you back by 6 - 6.5K for a set. The Michelin radials will be about 9.5-10K for the set.
I think you're referring to shv18 ?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
No Zapper series please; MRF 110/70-17 & MRF 140/70-17 RADIALS or Michelin RADIALS will do justice on ABS (ABS Anyday)Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Deepak,Originally posted by Deepak Vishnu View PostIm planning on buying a cbr.. Have few doubts
Is it still a good option to buy an cbr..
Or should i go ahead with d390 v2
I m currently riding a p200 ns done 89 k on it.. And seriously need a new ride.
So my main question is can the cbr last 5 years with dedicated riding??
And any suggestions would be good..
I have a CBR of August-2011 model I haven't gone through any major issues so far the only thing remember something expensive was speedometer and that was my fault.
CBR is more like relaxed and comfortable bike and 3390 is like in the face my suggestion is better go for test ride and then make decision.

Mohan

Maybe I'm too late but I have a 2011 model I would suggest you to buy newer models like 2013 because even though the engine is same there are some parts like handle lock is completely different for 2011 model (costs around 12000) and 2012-2013(5000) model. Even the horn of 2011 is very useless nothing OEM cannot fix but factory fit is factory fit.Originally posted by ishan2290 View PostHello All, regarding my previous post of buying a used CBR250r, i have shorted out 4 CBRs detailed as below. i need your quick response as i am going to finalize the deal by end of the day today but still can't decide for which one should i go.
1) A Red-Silver CBR (STANDARD)
2012 model, 17,000 kms done, haven't seen this bike in person but by photos, tyres will be needed to change, all papers clear-Asking price:85,000 INR
2) A Red-Silver CBR (STANDARD)
December 2011 model. 6,500 kms done, personally seen and ridden the bike, scratchless bike except a single scratch on silencer guard because of fall while standing, everything else is good, all papers clear-Asking Price:1,00,000 INR
3) A Black CBR (STANDARD)
2012 model, 6,700 kms done, personally inspected and ridden, only chain and sprockets are rusted from out side, everything else is in good condition including tyres, completely scratchless, good service history, he doesn't have original RC yet, but i think can manage to get it by appointing agent, on one of the insurance papers and on some other papers (don't remember the name of those papers) there is mentioned ABS model but it is non ABS model-Asking price:1,10,000 INR
4) A Red-Silver CBR (ABS)
November 2011 model, 20,000kms done. personally inspected and ridden only for some meters in his flat premises, bike is scratchless but it has some scratches on silencer guard but no where else like on handle bar or fairing so there are no marks of bike crash, owner told it happened in during parking the bike at home and office. front tyre is contiGo which is completely bald and have to replace it. Rear tyre is i think like some button tyre, dont remember the brand, but if I am replacing the front, will definately replace the whole set, i am thinking of going with Michalin (other suggestions are welcomed). chain and everything is in good condition,, there is some color pilled off on handlebar clip-ons and a bit rusting due to aging, some fins on radiator guard is bent, RVM screws are badly rusted, as per the owner he has done one service 2 weeks ago, everything else is good/ok. all documentation is clear, insurance expiring in this month end.-Asking Price:1,00,000 but ready to give the bike for 97,000 INR
NOW, i am not able to make up my mind for which bike to go, I will have to complete all documentation process and bike maintenance in max 2 weeks as i have a ride planned to gujarat, my home, in diwali. At present i am riding Apache 180 ABS model and know and appriciate the importance of ABS, had many close encounters on road and was saved by ABS. By this msg, i just wanted to know your views, yes I am short of money but can manage upto 1 Lakh and don't want to compromise for some bucks for which i regrate in future as this will be my long term bike. I have been following @shv18's thread regarding his used cbr and its journey so far and have red all pages but still wanted to confirm and get views of other riders just for my peace of mind.
Please try to reply ASAP as I have to finalize the deal by today itself. Also if anyone can guide me in the process of bike transfer and cost for the same, both if done individually and hiring an agent, it will be very helpful for me to plan my finances.
Thank You n advance.
And make sure its ABS only standard is good but you will feel lot of difference in braking.

One more question is it too late to buy a cbr 250 r abs new one that is or should i wait for a newer model to launch..Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHi Deepak,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Waiting for new model doesn't make sense in my opinion. As Honda already changed the color of CBR few days ago, so atleast there will be another 6 or more months before they start new models. Moreover new model will be probably 300cc with higher price tag.Originally posted by Deepak Vishnu View PostOne more question is it too late to buy a cbr 250 r abs new one that is or should i wait for a newer model to launch..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The colors are really bad in my opinion just google cbr250r revfest you might get those.Originally posted by Deepak Vishnu View PostWhen did honda change the stickers on the cbr. What are the new color
My personal favorite is the Tri-Color in current color options if you can find one I like it better than repsol (sorry repsol guys).

Probably, we will get new colors in showrooms or still have some time to grab the old color scheme.
My personal favroite is 2011 cherry red. And yes tri-color is good but not for Indian roads.
