The stock battery was replaced last year with sonic SF and and pretty happy with it.In fact the bike was left in the parking nicely covered and the battery disconnected from the terminal for around 6 and half months, believe me after returning from my work after the earlier mentioned period the bike started in the very first attempt.Somehow i was was not a big fan of the original battery the bike came with as it had troubled me on numerous occasions despite of taking very good care of it.
I have been using Phillips extreme vision for 2 yrs now. Its good, go for it. Plus it won't drain the battery as it is of same wattage as that of stock bulbs (55w).

I used contigo's for 18k kms and then switched to Michelins front and rear(done 8k on them). Contigo is a shitty tyre, its hard compound which means less grip and more life. Michelin's are grippier than contigo which means more fun while cornering and less life.

Never tried CEAT but heard its a good dual purpose tyres which can tolerate both roads and off roads.

    Hello everyone,

Can anyone please put some light on Half clutch and full clutch operation ?

I was shifting gears with half clutch until 5300 Kms and now the mechs are saying, do not use half clutch as it will burn the clutch plates.

Please share the disadvantage of half clutch and also for full clutch operation, is there is any ?

    Thanks,
    Sanjay
Even I m using half clutch for gear shifts and sometimes clutchless. Any knowledge on clutch plates wear and tear would be appreciated.

When you press the clutch lever the clutch disengages, and power from the engine is disrupted from being transferred into the transmission. But here the input shaft would still be rotating at the speed of the engine (assuming you already know how the clutch works) meaning the steel plates would be rotating but since the pressure from the clutch springs are momentarily relieved, the friction plates arent pressed against them with tension, but the steel plates would still be grazing the friction plates and thus there's heat and wear arising from it.

And regarding changing gear, you can do it with full de-clutch, half de-clutch or even no de-clutch at all, as long as the 'revs are matched' between the main and the counter shafts. But it depends on how well you know your bike. The whole point here is reducing wear, and since the clutch is cheaper and a consumable part, it would be wise to use it in favor of the transmission.

        Need help!!

I am facing engine shut off problems in my cbr250.

When i am driving in traffic and press clutch to change gears the engine shuts down. This is sometimes but like once in every 20-30kms. Has anyone faced this issue before?

I have faced a similar issue sometimes during the downshift.

The issue that I have identified with my bike was that clutch play was more than normal(due to the adjuster nut), when adjusted the issue disappears until the play increases.

Stalling like that happens when there's restriction at the intake, most common is because of consumables but at times it could be because the intake valve clearance is amiss.

Adjust or replace the clutch cable the problem will vanish.

              @all owners:

Alternatively, if your vehicle has munched quite a lot of kms on the clock then probably cleaning the throttle body as a part of preventive maintenance will help in making the throttle response crisper and lively.

Throttle body on Honda CBR 250R:

Tutorial on another bike as a reference should give the owners an idea of the same:
Throttle Body Cleaning | Victory Hammer | Victory Jackpot | Victory Kingpin | Victory TC | Victory V92C | Victory Vegas | The Biker's Garage

and some tips to from the DIY video link below while cleaning the throttle body:

Hope this adds something to this thread

Thanks for the info bro. I use half clutch to prevent getting off the power band and yes the gear shifts are smooth.

                  No need of a relay.

But I am little skeptical over this, whether to go with Relay & wirring or not?
But seeing the performance only I will decide whether to go for PHILIPS Xtreme Vision H4 or OSRAM NBU or PHILIPS White\Cyrstal Vision or not.

you sure bout the 100/90 ??? you are looking forward for a burnt melting reflector and holder... you would need ceramic holder for those bulb and high amp current too...
get Osram Night Breaker else move to HID+ 55w DSP ballast+ morimoto/hella projector...

i upshift wihtout even touching the clutch... and downshift with ull clutch engaged.. sometimes if just coasting i even downshift without touching clutch...
its all rpm game.. if you know when to shift.. however 5300 is pretty new and i would suggest to use full clutch...

Please let me know if operating only half clutch will cause long time problem with clutch plates or some other engine components.

while using full clutch i always get a thud sound while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, it never happens with any other gear regardless of up-shifting and downshifting.

I am confused now, whether to go with Osram Night Breaker or philips extreme vision (12v 60/55 W H4).

to be true no one has clear idea on the same. if you planning to buy the bike i would suggest to wait for 2-3 months and then buy// new cbr250r dual headlamp or even cbr300 might be on the way.. but rumor says that production has been halted

Regarding this Clutch and Gear shift wanna clear some doubts of mine.

Whenever I shift down from 5th to 4th on high speed (70kmph+) it sounds a thudd, but while shifting down from 6th it doesn't. Is it common or Im facing this only.
Another thing is, I still get some false gear shift while shifting 1st to 2nd. It goes to N.

that'sbound to happen.. 70 is little higher speed to downshift from 5th to 4th gear as optimal speed will be 50ish and not 70ish.. hence due to down gearing the rpm will take a sudden surge and engine braking will also come into play... that thud is due to gear getting slotted. its pretty normal..

now it doesn't happen in 6th is again same reason .. as 70 is not very high revving for 6th gear as it does 70 at 4500 rpm which is pretty much the ideal gear change range hence no sound.. if you find it difficult to change gear then tighten the cable a bit and check...

if the cable is done 15k .. change it.. cost 120 bucks.. sometimes they get stretched.. giving unwanted feedback..

Check the video which i recorded. It was a challenge though to record with one hand

155..... that's pretty good... i doubt it will go beyond that.. unless you are feather weight..
mine never went beyond 151 with my 80 kg load....

forget bout videos.. there will be videos until 170 parked on side stand and tilted...
